  1. This is where it gets fun. This thing is going down in spectacular flames. So many Chicago teams have gone down in spectacular flames lately that I’m not sure it will have the impact that it should.
  2. Everyone always points to Mahomes and Watson when discussing the Trubisky miss, and rightfully so, but I forgot how much talent was actually in the top of that draft. 1. Myles Garrett 2. Mitchell Trubisky 3. Solomon Thomas 4. Leonard Fournette 5. Corey Davis 6. Jamal Adams 7. Mike Williams 8. Christian McCaffrey 9. John Ross 10. Patrick Mahomes 11. Marshon Lattimore 12. Deshaun Watson Assuming the Bears weren't aiming to pick a WR in that draft, it would have been hard to miss unless you picked Mitch or Solomon Thomas (who of course the Bears were rumored to pick if they didn't get Mitch).
  3. There must be a lot of people not renewing their season tickets this winter because I'm getting calls again about my name coming up on the Season Ticket Waiting List. I put my name down in like 2007, got a bunch of calls around 2011-2014, nothing since 2015 until now.
  4. yep. not only was it bad enough that he was brought in as the replacement for Hoiberg initially, but they doubled and tripled down on him by giving him the entire remaining part of the season last year AND giving him an extension. this franchise sucks. For a normal franchise I could totally see another week or two of this resulting in ownership cleaning house, but I don't think I'll ever see an end to GarPax coming. I'm sure it will happen someday, but I won't see it coming.
  5. Stumbling in to a tank and top ~3 pick this year isn’t the worst thing for them seeing as Klay was out until March/April anyways. Keeps some miles off Curry’s legs and I’m sure Draymond and Looney will be “load managed” now. They will be in a spot to trade for the next disgruntled star (Towns?) too with this pick and maybe Russell as the salary match. Feels like a Spurs the year before they got Duncan kind of year for them Maybe, except I don't know if there is any can't miss talent in the draft this year.
  6. So does Josh Hader get awarded a playoff share if the Nats finish this off?
  7. 1-4 start against what seems like an unbelievably easy schedule
  8. The Blackhawks are a disaster So are the Bulls and Bears and possibly Cubs but this is just a thread for the hockey team
  9. And don't forget - the Bears lost 2 yards by taking a knee, so all they have to do is not fumble or lose 3 yards for it to be the right move.
  10. Focusing on the most important implications here...does this mean we get NCAA 21 next year?
  11. I honestly wouldn't totally disagree, especially given how great we had it with the Bulls and how awesome 2016 was for many reasons, but I don't remember horsefeathers about 1985 so I couldn't care any less about that. In fact, those guys just annoy the hell out of me. Yeah we have it much better than several other cities. It just sucks when all the city's sports teams either suck or are disappointing at the same time.
  12. And the one game they won they came back from 16 point deficit
  13. My 29 win prediction is looking pretty good
  14. Wow I definitely didn't think he would choose the US. There were literally reports an hour ago saying he was leaning towards the Netherlands.
  15. Fixed At least we have a solid top 10 rivalry game
  16. Yeah if you could get a 1st and a 2nd for him right now I’d do it in a heartbeat. Would get us out of a lot of problems imo. That’s not to say I regret the Mack trade...if Trubisky wasn’t garbage it would have been an amazing trade. And even though he is, it was still a good move and got us a division title. But Mitch is garbage so we need picks and cap flexibility to try to build a team around the next Bears QB
  17. What era? One good season Based on the past 30 years of Bears football, one good season is an era
  18. Yeah, he’d be looked at as bad AND lucky instead of just bad
  19. That wasn't a hand-off though. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything? I’m guessing the difference in making a 35 yard FG vs a 41 yard FG is worth the risk of fumbling which has probably a 1% chance of happening given the situation where they are told to secure the ball over all else. All in all he should have hit the 41 yarder regardless but it seems moronic to not try to have the kick from as close as possible. Anyways it’s hilarious that the Bears came away from 3 1st and goal situations from the 9, 4 and 1 yard line with 9 points in a game they lost by 1 point
  20. Seriously though. 1st and 10 from the 24 with 1 TO left and they just run the clock down? That is almost exactly what Trestman did. Why would you not try to get a few more yards? Sure there is a small amount of risk but I’m certain going for more yards is the right play
  21. Well this season is mirroring Trestmans last season perfectly. Today was the settling for a long FG while there was still time and downs to get a closer FG a la Gould in Minnesota
  22. I get that he’s signed next year but by the time he’s back this year the Bears will be well out of the playoff hunt. I’d rather see what options are available in the offseason
  23. Nagy seems like he’s too stupid to bench him this season
  24. horsefeathers you Trubisky
  25. Bears ran 16 plays in the red zone in the first half, not including FGAs. They gained 8 yards on those 16 plays
