  1. How about win out and finish with a same record as the Vikings only for the Rams to go 3-1 and win the H2H tiebreaker.
  2. So any ideas why Mitch decided to not run all season until now? Very strange. Still wonder if the shoulder injury had something to do with it
  3. Manic is not really a word I'd like being tossed around about the Cubs FO. I have believed that we should probably shake up the core a bit this offseason, but I also don't want to do it just for the sake of doing it. I just believed that this is where we could get the most value back to hopefully improve the team.
  4. Yeah but unfortunately for Addison, the Astros only want bad character guys who are actually good at baseball.
  5. Since its a December home night game, weather forecast is relevant. Right now it shouldn't effect the game, with the low being 31 and no precipitation in the forecast. But the conditions are usually a little nastier by the lakefront. Anyways, not that the Bears are particularly good or deserve to make the playoff, but sucks that they'd be right in the heart of the playoff race in the AFC or the NFC east but have a 2% chance of playoffs this morning.
  6. Not in favor of getting rid of Harbaugh so we can go get the next Brady Hoke or something. Look this sucks. It sucks losing to them every year. Harbaugh definitely deserves some blame. But I think it would be foolish to get rid of him. He has mostly stabilized the program to the level it was at when Carr was coaching (outside of 1997 they were an annual 2-4 loss program) except in one area. I’m not saying we should accept 2-4 loss teams but it could be a lot worse and I think with the right coordinators we can improve as a program. Don’t get me wrong, beating OSU is important, and it’s possible he is Michigan’s version of Cooper and if continues that way ultimately he will pay. But I wouldn’t can him right now just to can him. If Saban calls and wants to coach here, sure. But I’d rather see if Harbaugh can get over the hump while maintaining a consistently good team. He was a better spot away from doing it in 2016 but didn’t get it. That said, 15 out of 16 is insane. Michigan should at least be able to win at a rate that Auburn does over Alabama which is roughly once every 4 years
  7. One of these years Michigan will beat Ohio State by accident
  8. True enough, they'll be playing Minnesota in Minneapolis Friday, Gophers are not that special but, probably better than Iowa. Guess the game following Minnesota, vs. Texas Tech will be the real test. Last night Central Michigan played amongst it's best halves of basketball all season, had the Blue Demons down 18 at halftime. Blue Demons shut them down in the second half and scored 56 points winning by 13. It's been such a long time since the Blue Demons mattered, seeing a resurgence at the start of this season is great. Yeah...whether or not Iowa is any good, or Boston College for that matter, they went on the road and beat 2 high major teams. That's not nothing, and at the very least proves that DePaul is a decent team. Of course we're hoping that they are better than decent, but its a nice step to not see them completely suck at the very least. I root for 3 teams in college basketball, Michigan (childhood team), DePaul (alma mater) and Dayton (wife's alma mater) probably in that order. All 3 are undefeated and are surprising me. Probably won't last much longer with Michigan in a tourney with Iowa State, UNC, Gonzaga, Seton Hall and Oregon, Dayton playing Kansas today and DePaul playing Texas Tech next week, but its been fun and I hope they can keep playing well. Update: one of those teams did lose unfortunately. It was Dayton in OT to Kansas. Other than that Michigan just crushed 2 top 10 teams, Dayton destroyed a team that beat MSU the day before and DePaul notched their 3rd power 5 conference road win. 20-1 overall and I’d guess at least 2 if not all 3 of them will be ranked on Monday. I love college basketball. And while I’m riding high on endorphins, Michigan may have somehow upgraded their head coaching in the offseason. And that’s no disrespect to Beilein
  9. He was solid. Not a surprise that his 2 best games this year (in terms of Y/A and QBR) are against the Lions D but whatever. Solid? I don't know how you can reasonably expect him to play better. Sure he could've ran for the first at the end of the half and the INT (against a top 5 CB) sucked, but take away those 2 plays and that game was essentially perfection. 76% complete with 2 drops. Made deep throws to both sides of the field and all the intermediate throws in the middle. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk What does solid mean for you? I meant it as a compliment. He was good. I do wonder though if his shoulder is still bothering him. Don’t know why else he would be running backwards to avoid contact like he did a couple times today.
  10. They might lose out, but I’ll be an optimistic and say they go 1-3. I’ll give a little credit. Mitch made some great throws down the stretch. He was solid. Not a surprise that his 2 best games this year (in terms of Y/A and QBR) are against the Lions D but whatever.
  11. A win is a win but boy the last 3 Bears wins (2 vs Det, NYG) have been pretty uninspiring. Crazier things have happened but I can’t see the Bears doing better than 1 of the last 4.
  12. Dont you dare talk like that about the 2019 CBI Runners Up

  14. It's a mix of denial and Bears fans having never seen a really good quarterback developed so they cant accept the fact that he doesn't have it
  15. So I know the Bears run blocking has been bad, but is David Montgomery a bust? I just don't see any elusiveness from him or any of that tackle breaking skill that we heard about when drafted. 3.3 YPC for the year, and in 6 of 11 games he's failed to break off a 10 yard run
  16. Seems like every game the Bears start out really slow on offense, figure it out for 1-1.5 quarters and score points and then hang on at the end and hope to win. I also don’t understand why Nagy always plays not to lose in these games. It has either led to them blowing it or coming close to blowing it every time.
  17. Bears 7th round pick last year lol
  18. I saw they were down 7 with under 30 left and just assumed they would lose, so I didn't watch. Bummer.
  19. Holy horsefeathers that was incredible. I’m glad I decided to watch the end of this. Lavine with 49 wow
  20. Speaking of Penn State and Michigan, UM is playing scary good right now. Can’t help but lament not finishing that comeback in Happy Valley. OSU will still probably beat us next week but everything could have been on the line for both teams
  21. Nope I was happy to see Penn State fight back, but they are now something like 1-10 on the road against ranked teams under Franklin. Their pass defense is horrible, and it showed, giving up a ton of first downs on 3rd and longs. Crazy how similar Harbaugh’s and Franklin’s resumes are since Harbaugh was hired at UM Franklin: 47-17(32-12 in Big Ten) Harbaugh: 46-16 (31-11 in Big Ten - at halftime of IU/UM game) Both teams 1-7 vs ranked teams on the road. Both teams are 2-10 against top 10 teams. Biggest difference is that Penn State has won a conference title. Michigan has had a year where they were an inch short of playing for the title and another where they lost a tiebreaker to make it to Indy. Also Penn State has actually beaten Ohio State. Franklin deserves all the credit in the world for taking over with the program in the shape it was and bringing it back to national prominence really quickly. Just weird how people are frequently calling for Harbaugh to be fired with such a similar resume
  22. Such a weird matchup. I loathe playing Indiana because of how crazy all their games are but like you’ve pointed out somehow Michigan manages to win every time.
  23. I’m fine moving it back, but more 3s and spacing and pace is a more fun brand of basketball, IMO, over the 90s and before basketball of dumping it in to a big guy and lane clogging and no space or shooting. I've wanted to say this for awhile but I know it appears that I'm a grumpy old person complaining about how the game is worse than when I was growing up, but I find this style of basketball unappealing. It was fun when the SSOL Suns were running up and down the court launching shots, and loved watching the early Warriors when they were sort of leading the revolution into shooting lots of 3's, but now that many teams are doing this, I've found it less entertaining, especially when its teams that aren't elite doing it. Though thinking about it, the bruising, no-offense 90's NBA was pretty damn ugly too, as was the hero ball, drive to the lane and flop for FTs NBA of about 15 years ago (think DWade in the 05-06 Finals). So I'm not sure really what style I would really enjoy better than what we have now. I'm probably just turned off by this style because the Bulls suck.
  24. I believe this is the largest FA contract the White Sox have ever given out.
