  1. Holy crap they lost that game? I was casually following it but stopped when it was like 22-9. Poor IU :(
  2. Probably a bad offseason to try to trade your elite 3B when Rendon, Donaldson and Arenado were also available
  3. What happened in the last 2 minutes of the 1st half? I had the game on in the background but wasn't paying much attention. Just really poor clock management while Michigan was driving which forced them to kick a 57 yard FG (which they made amazingly) I would say that I’m still in Harbaughs corner but clearly the lack of success in bigger games (1-9 vs OSU and bowl games, but 4-3 against MSU/ND) needs to change right away. But he’s also stabilized the program to the point where 9-10 wins is the floor (though sadly also the ceiling). Sitting through 3-9 and 5-7 seasons with the previous 2 coaches absolutely sucked. So because of that I’m willing to give him more rope than many. But at some point in the very near future he needs to break through and have a season with a division title with a win over OSU at the very least. He’s been a literal inch away from achieving this in 2016 but obviously close is not good enough.
  4. Could just be the standard overstatement of minor news that people on twitter like to do. But if it was legit big news im thinking either some major NCAA violations for a big program or playoff expansion.
  5. You don't think they should field questions about those firings? Yeah..not a huge deal but it doesn't really help the perception that Pace avoids having to answer to the media. I didn't watch the press conference today but they were saying it ended abruptly and they ended further questions. And this after not speaking to the media for the entire season, and only doing so today because the NFL mandates it.
  6. The tough thing about getting a highly regarded OC is that it doesnt seem like Nagy is going to relinquish playcalling duties, based on what was said in the press conference today. That has to knock the desirability of the job down a peg.

  8. Sounds like this has been an awful press conference
  9. I was going to post this in the Shogo thread but it was unceremoniously locked.. [tweet] [/tweet] lol
  10. Who knows if its believable but... Alex Smith makes quite a bit of money and given the injury he's coming off of, I wouldnt be comfortable giving him more than a backup role. If this is actually a true rumor maybe they think Alex Smith can help develop Mitch into the next Alex Smith given the comparisons coming out of college and the late bloomer status that many use as the last shred of hope that Mitch can be an acceptable starting QB.
  11. Shogo a nogo [tweet]https://twitter.com/Kazuto_Yamazaki/status/1211711548923596801[/tweet] horsefeathers it, at this point just bring back the same team (minus our FA losses) and either they randomly get better, or they suck and we can deal guys in July.
  12. Funny because that’s the 1st round pick the Bears would have had if they weren’t giving it to the Raiders.
  13. Mitch ends the season with 5.6 YPA on 37 passes against the backup Vikings defense.
  14. Damn, would have been nice to see the Patriots AND Packers denied a bye week but at least we got 1
  15. Mitch is a horsefeathering awful quarterback. Meaningless or not he blows
  16. Bears have 2nd and 1 near midfield, rush 3 straight times and don’t get the 1st, including a QB sneak on 4th and inches. Blocking sucks but Mitch looked like he had never executed a sneak before. He just kind of pushed himself into the crowd, turned his back to the line and held on hoping he got the inch. He didn’t.
  17. You’d think with a meaningless game and nothing to lose you wouldn’t drag out the same boring conservative offense but here we are.
  18. Great game and optimal result
  19. So Oklahoma has made it to the CFP in 4 of the 6 seasons and has been outscored 199-127 in those 4 games (average score of 50-32). Maybe we stop picking Oklahoma for the playoff.
  20. Yeah I posted this a few weeks ago but based on sagarin ratings, Michigan played 5 opponents that were tougher than Clemson's best opponent. Doesnt mean they arent a great team just that they were pretty much predestined to be in the playoffs based on their schedule.
  21. I'm picking OSU (not that I want to), but I think Fields' knee injury is a legitimate concern. If he's slow and cant be as mobile, a lot of what makes their offense great will be affected imo.
  22. Everything the Bears needed to happen outside of them winning out has happened. Winning out was always going to be the hardest part and clearly they weren’t good enough, but if they had...the Bears would have been in with a win on Sunday.
  23. I mean, this is the same QB and playcaller that won 12 games last year. I know the defense gave them more short fields and scored points, but the offense last year did a decent job getting into the endzone, despite not a lot of yards. So, I guess there's hope there. There aren't many examples of a QB just "getting it" after 3 years. But ironically enough, the one shining example is Drew Brees. But he was really good his 3rd year (step back in 4th) and really took off obviously with a new team/coach. The numbers are pretty similar overall too. Brees (1st 3 years)- 21-21 record, 787-1282, 61.4 comp %, 8551 yards, 55 TD, 38 INTs, 202.5 yards per game, 6.67 yards per attempt. Trubs (1st 3 years)- 22-18 record, 785-1243, 63.1 ccomp %, 8347 yards, 48 TD, 29 INTs, 207.5 yards per game, 6.72 yards per attempt. That would be awesome but can we really hang our hat on pretty much extreme outliers?
  24. Hmm, that’s certainly...a place that FAs can sign
  25. So 8 home games this year: -In 2 of them they failed to score a TD -In 2 of them they scored exactly 1 TD -In another they didn’t score an offensive TD until there was 2:31 left in the game and they were down 36-10 Damn no wonder the fans are always booing
