  1. Anyone see Mahomes count out the number of teams that passed on him in the draft after throwing a TD? Talk about insult to injury.
  2. Helps to link to what you're talking about [tweet] [/tweet] Well damn they are following the Cubs rebuild perfectly and are now onto the “accumulate bad contracts” part
  3. Sir this is not a Google
  4. I'm sure the organization that signed Hossa to what turned out to be an illegal contract and then managed to wash away the last few years of that deal will be given the benefit of doubt.
  5. As much as it takes
  6. The source that this "report" was taken from was Sharma of the Athletic, but this link summarizes it.
  7. Packers would've had to lose to the Lions if the Vikings beat them. Otherwise both would be 11-5 Ahh crap, for some reason I forgot the Packers already had 10 wins coming into yesterday, disregard then
  8. Sucks that if the Bears won yesterday, our path to the playoffs would have been relatively simple: Win last 2 games and 1 Rams loss (@SF next week) Bears would have won tiebreaker over Packers by divisional record if Vikings beat them next week and over Vikings by H2H if the Packers beat them. Oh well....
  9. Since they’ve already made it legal to challenge pass interference, can you see any downsides to allowing coaches to challenge almost any penalty? I mean either way you are only allowed 2 challenges a game so it’s not like they’d be slowing the game down anymore than it is. I just don’t see why you can challenge a potential pass interference but you can’t review whether the returner caught the ball before he was hit and fumbled. A missed call like that can affect the game just as much as a missed pass interference Edit: maybe you make it so that a team can only challenge one potential penalty a game to save you from challenging a relatively inconsequential penalty
  10. Sucks...plus the ball went through Ridley’s hands the play before in the end zone. For some reason I get less pissed off at stuff like that knowing that we still would have had to covert the 2 point conversion and win in OT.
  11. If anything, the way things are setting up there are more options for QB than most years. I think Philip Rivers, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota, Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater and Eli Manning could all realistically be had. In some cases we probably don’t have the resources or cap space, and in other cases like Eli especially it’s likely not an upgrade. But the fact is there are a lot of potential QBs that should be available if you want to give up on Mitch or at least challenge him.
  12. Figures the Bears lose by 1 score in a game the refs basically gifted the Packers a TD. I know they still had to go 35 yards, but if they correctly give the ball to the Bears at midfield there is a chance the Bears score instead. Not going to blame the loss on the refs but outside of that possession the score was 14-13. Had a pretty dramatic shift in the game
  13. So 0 TDs in 7 quarters against the Packers. The thing that bugs me is that Mitch has played well enough to not be convinced that he should be dumped next year but not well enough to be legitimately hopeful that he’s growing into a better QB. Most likely they bring in a Mariota type to challenge Mitch in the preseason but I could also see them not wanting to hurt his confidence and bringing him back as the unquestioned starter and then he starts the season like he did this year.
  14. This is the best Chicago sports has to offer right now lol
  15. Instead of the Bears having the ball at midfield they get the ball at the Bears 35. What a joke
  16. Interesting
  17. https://twitter.com/cubs_live/status/1206076823353921536?s=21 To be clear, I have never in my life heard of Mike f’ing Murphy having any sort of legitimate sources.
  18. As long as we can save $10m that we can spend on a couple of relievers who will probably suck.
  19. We added a guy and lost two guys so net net we are paying one less player to play baseball for us. Everything's coming up Ricketts today.
  20. It still boggles my mind that the Dodgers are able to poop out top 100 prospects, and still manage to have enough to occasionally call up and become quality big leaguesrs while the Cubs have to shop around their best major league player to add talent into the system.
  21. For next weeks SNF game: I think the Bears can be eliminated with a loss and either a Vikings or Rams win, but even if they win this week it might be really difficult to still be in contention before Week 16 SNF. Would take Bears win this week and at least 1 loss from both Vikings (@LAC, GB) and Rams (@DAL, @SF) over their next 2 games. Edit: Nevermind, Bears can still remain alive if they win this week and Vikings win both games because the Bears would have a shot at passing the Packers for the Wild Card in that scenario. But if Rams win both games the Bears are obviously out. Someone on twitter yesterday said that there is a scenario where the Bears, Vikings, Packers and Rams all finish 10-6 and if that happens, the Bears would host the Rams in Wild Card weekend while the Vikings and Packers are eliminate. I like that one.
  22. Probably not the case but what if this was all a ploy to get KB/Boras to come down on their extension demands?
  23. It is not possible, it is very wrong. 2017: 11 2018: 10 2019: 11 and obviously some overlap so that it's considerably less than the 32 there (also don't open the 2018 spoiler) I also went out of my way to figure this out for some reason. Cubs who led off from 2017-2019 (17 players): Schwarber - 93 games Zobrist - 90 Almora - 64 Rizzo - 57 Jay - 51 Heyward - 36 Murphy - 30 Happ - 22 Descalso - 11 Baez - 8 Bryant - 7 Kemp - 6 Contreras - 4 La Stella - 3 Garcia - 3 Martin - 1 Szczur - 1
  24. It's not the White Sox because if it was they'd be shouting from the mountain tops "LOOK HOW MUCH MONEY WE ARE OFFERING FOR A BASEBALL PLAYER!"
