  1. I’m assuming in these situations they would just have the DH for all games? Heck we might have seen the last of pitchers hitting if they move forward with adding the DH to the NL in 2021. Anyways, I feel like this gives an advantage to the AL teams playing in divisions with NL teams since they’ve built their rosters to accommodate a 9th starting batter. Maybe the Cubs can convince Zo to come back for a 80 game season at DH.
  2. Some marketing guy he was...couldn't even get the Hawks into a Winter Classic for 2 consecutive years
  3. Enjoyed this Kukoc article: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29072197/toni-kukoc-talks-michael-jordan-scottie-pippen-last-dance-chicago-bulls I always wondered how Toni's relationship with MJ and Pippen was after all the stuff that went on with the Olympics and the animosity with Krause bringing him it. It appears as though had the perfect personality to deal with all of that and even thrive from it. He rationalized the abuse, realized it wasn't actually about him, and any criticism of his play was an attempt to make him better. Hope he gets into the HOF some day soon.
  4. If the Bears draft class was graded purely by the names of the picks, they get an A+
  5. Haha I always spell it wrong whoops
  6. Help me out on that one. What’s the likelihood of finding plenty of help this far in? I’m trying to see it with Pace. I really am. But his picks consistently leave me befuddled. His picks in a general sense have been fine. He's drafted better than average overall. The issue is and has always been he missed the QB pick. Nothing else really matters. Seattle blows the draft every year by picking 3rd rounder in the 1st and still win 10+ because they hit on the QB. You really think he’s been better than average overall? If there’s anyone I trust about football on this forum it’s you but I can’t see it. I agree if the Bears drafted Maholmes instead of Trubisky and he developed to be as good he’d have nearly infinite job security but he didn’t. And he missed on White (yes I know injuries were a big reason but he was also someone who many said needed development), he missed on Floyd too. Smith has been a solid pick so 1 out of 4 in the first round. Second round we have James Daniels, Anthony Miller, Adam Shaheen, Cody Whitehair and Eddie Goldman. Is that 2/5 or 3/5? So 3 or 4 out of his 9 picks in the first 2 rounds? Even with solid drafting later on it’s hard to be good when you hit on ~40% of your top 2 round picks.
  7. Remember when Jerry Angelo went like 5 years without drafting an offensive lineman despite having the worst oline in the league? It’s like we’re back there again
  8. I’ll take it. We have a bunch of picks next year I believe Edit: though I guess the value chart shows that the bears lost the trade
  9. Next years 4th. We keep the upcoming 5th I believe (163)
  10. And it’s a DE. Travis Gipson
  11. Bears just traded up 8 spots and on the clock
  12. If they go WR I'd really want it to be a burner type, plus points if they have return potential (Cohen and Patterson will both be FA next year) Yeah that’s fair, I could accept that. I just think DPJ has the upside of a number 1 but with considerable risk which is definitely something teams look for in the 5th Round. Or at least teams that have no glaring holes that have strangely not been addressed so far (cough OLine)
  13. Bears don’t have a glaring need at WR but what’s the view on Donovan Peoples-Jones? 5 star talent that never quite hit his potential at Michigan partly due to injuries, sometimes iffy QB play and his own inconsistencies. But I think he’s a good route runner, moderately fast and can makes catches in traffic. I’m surprised he’s lasted this long...production wasn’t completely there in college but all the tools are still there.
  14. Draft grades are meaningless so I should probably stop this post now but since I know little about prospects I looked at a few. Everyone is panning the Kmet pick and loving the Johnson pick. Love WalterFootball’s writeup on Kmet
  15. Are they allowed to do that in the NFL? I know it happens in college but can’t remember seeing that in the pros
  16. And the bears get none of them
  17. I hate the pick. Why is Shaheen still on the roster?
  18. Hmm ok
  19. Was really good. Not really a ton of new info so far (for me at least, I was probably too obsessed during the last half of that run) but absolutely in love with the behind the scenes videos especially of MJ in college, Pippen's college highlights, and the behind the scenes stuff in Paris. Since these 2 episodes were largely setting up the stakes going into the final season, I expect a lot more behind the scenes stuff in the subsequent episodes.
  20. Freeman, Alonso, Rizzo, Bell, Muncy?
  21. I was thinking primarily of Boylen. gotcha. i'm thinking we probably won't see him officially canned until the season is actually canceled. but who knows...this is a very weird situation. Boylen released a statement praising the Bulls for the AK hiring which I thought was strange and funny. I would be shocked if he remained the head coach, but they might not make a decision on him until the season is officially cancelled. We're in that weird time where everyone is operating as if its the offseason, but the season hasn't technically been axed yet.
  22. I'd really like to understand the decision-making behind trading Butler. I was on Team Rebuild at the time so I wasn't opposed to trading Butler, though I wanted to hold out for a bigger ransom than what we got. But if Butler was pitching that he could recruit other stars to Chicago (and I definitely believe he could have), I would have been fully on board with keeping Jimmy. Did the FO not like Jimmy? I know there was the 3 alphas drama, but by all accounts maybe he had some leadership issues but he worked his butt off and that apparently rubbed off on the younger teammates. I guess the FO logic is that they couldn't be confident that Jimmy would resign in 2 years and at that point in his team friendly contract, his value was at its highest. But the backstabbing by Gar is horrible.
  23. something something cost overruns and future luxury tax penalties
