Didn’t need all the self righteous, sanctimonious broadcasters/media old guys involved, would’ve liked to have heard from more players. Also didn’t need to hear from the horsefeathering grounds keeper multiple times, or about how Cardinals fans judge fly balls better and the other nonsense. They completely glossed over Kerry Wood and Sammy carrying a very average Cubs team to a playoff birth and just not as much Sammy/Cubs stuff as I expected. Also the screen cuts with modern day crowd shots but showing 98 highlights was, ummm, odd and cheap. Watching this really did make me miss baseball though. I don’t mind them not spending a lot of time talking about the Cubs playoff race, after all this was about the HR race. But if you are trying to tell us how these players felt and what they were dealing with during the year, then yeah there should have been more talk about how Sosa also carried the pressure of balancing trying to get the Cubs into the playoffs with the HR record. Overall yeah the doc was pretty mediocre. Maybe it was more interesting for someone too young to remember the HR race but it didn’t do a whole lot for me.
