  1. same! Third. They are actually easy enough to exit out, but it totally messes up the "go to last read" functionality, and then I end up at the top of every page. That's the most annoying part for me. I have no right to complain about ads on a site where someone else pays for the upkeep but these ads are getting annoying. If there’s a way to get rid of these ads without hurting overall ad revenue I’d really appreciate it
  2. The Cubs have to have the record for most position player pitching appearances in a season right? *unless you consider Shohei a position player
  3. Bob Odenkirk in the booth at Wrigley. Guess he’s doing much better!
  4. That will go great with our versions of Vlad, Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez
  5. Could use some input here. 0.5 PPR, 12 team league. My team is in shambles and I need to drop a RB for a Kicker. Which of these RBs would you drop? -Eli Mitchell -James Robinson -Mike Davis -Javonte Williams -Melvin Gordon -Chuba Hubbard I actually cant drop Hubbard because he played but I'd be interested to see where he would fit into the mix. I'm thinking Mitchell because he's doubtful this week and that backfield is so unpredictable that it seems more likely than not he won't be a startable RB. I'd also love to clear up that Broncos backfield logjam that's taking up half my bench but I can't decide which one is droppable.
  6. Gonna be really hard to watch the playoffs with the Cardinals, Brewers and I guess White Sox in them.
  7. https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/sports/chicago-cubs/jed-hoyer-cubs-plan-to-be-really-active-mlb-free-agency Cubs plan to be really active in FA, which can mean a million different things. Also, David Ross isn't going anywhere
  8. Sucks He'll miss training camp and preseason and probably the first 6-10 games of the season which sucks since he had a very abbreviated camp last year
  9. If anyone cares about film study, this particular person had a really optimistic take on Field's game Sunday.
  10. How do you accurately evaluate the HOF credentials of an OL like Kreutz? He was a Center which I would think lowers his standing over a Tackle or even a Guard. He was a 6 time pro bowler, 2 time all-pro (one 1st team, one 2nd team), named to the 2000's all decade team and consistent presence and leader on the Bears line for 13 seasons. A comparison can be made with Kevin Mawae, the other Center named to the 2000's all decade team. He was enshrined in 2019. But he had 8 all-pros, 7 of them 1st team so Kreutz's resume pales in comparison. But if he's in there, I guess Kreutz has a small shot of making it.
  11. Good read about the learning curve for young QBs in the NFL https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2021/9/22/22687282/nfl-rookie-quarterback-ready-justin-fields-bears-trey-lance-49ers
  12. There are 19 HOF CBs, 9 of them have played after 1985. Is Charles Tillman one of the 10 best CBs to have played in the last 36 years (excluding active players and recent retirees)? I’m not saying he’s definitely not, I’m legit asking. I always saw him as a very good player but not quite HOF caliber Look at recent CB inductees: Rod Woodson Charles Woodson Ty Law Champ Bailey I can see him fitting in somewhere around Ty Law so maybe he does make it.
  13. Hasn’t been one in 4 days. Wind is crazy tonight if this bot isn’t actually broken
  14. Man I missed a lot. Left on Saturday (spoilers for mojo) and just now getting caught up with everything. I was aware Fields played on Sunday but wasn't sure about his performance outside of looking at the numbers until I saw highlights today. Kid made some mistakes obviously but I don't see any mistakes that can't be cleaned up quickly. But the throws he made that were dropped and the evasiveness on his runs were all I needed to see to come away optimistic. Truth is, all the rookie QBs have looked like various degrees of ass (besides Lance who has barely played). It's a learning curve, but I'm confident that he has the physical and mental skills needed to be a stud. Can't wait to see him improve as the season goes on, assuming he can prevent Nagy from making Andy the starter again when healthy.
  15. Crazy how quickly Happ went from "should we non-tender him instead of pay $5m next year" to "one of the 4 position players we can lock in for next year". I've always been fairly pro-Happ even during his struggles so I'm not saying that train of thought is wrong just surprising how quickly it flipped.
  16. Tweet chain from the guy we keep talking about taking with a grain of salt
  17. Also apparently Borom’s injury is a high ankle sprain and he’ll be out at least a few weeks
  18. Interesting Twitter thread from Mark Appel who is apparently attempting a comeback
  19. This guy acts like he has connections and says vague things like this so take with a grain of salt
  20. And lost those 3 games by 4, 7 and 9 runs
  21. Hendricks is quite the tank commander. Impressive
  22. Can't you trade one of those RBs for a WR? And how many teams are there? I'm in a 14 team, and your team would be the stone nuts in it. 12 team league. I'm not sure if stone nuts is good or bad lol. I have several decent players but other than Dak no money players. Hoping Gibson's volume last week translates into more points this year. Last year I had Kyler, Lamar, Davante Adams, AJ Brown, Dalvin, JRob, Zeke. I would go look at the rankings and be disappointed if any of my starters were not top 12 of their position. But to your question, there are trades in our league but usually not this early in the year, and post week 1 their values are a bit depressed (JRob, Mike Davis in particular but also the Broncos RBs because their situation is still unclear)
  23. Yep...actually besides Andy Dalton lol. I took Heinike because Dalton's situation is tenuious. I guess so is Heinike's if WFT brings in a QB, but I think he's the better play as backup QB. But yeah, every other starter and rookie are owned. I waited way too long to take QB2 and got stuck with Ben. Then late in the draft I picked up Taysom and Cam hoping one would pan out as a starter but that didn't work out obviously.
