  1. Is it bad that when I see a new post in this thread on a night the Bulls don’t play I assume there’s been another devistating injury?
  2. Mexico should have like 4 goals in this match
  3. This was the first time the US has scored goals off set pieces this entire cycle. Correct, I’ve read that a few times though as the reason why they haven’t scored as many goals in WCQ. Maybe I’m reading the wrong sites
  4. Glad we got the 3 points but it’s not going to shut up the people who are concerned that the US can’t score outside of set pieces
  5. Yeah sorry I’m done with the Blackhawks. They can lose the rest of their games for all I care
  6. CR wins. Now Canada @ Costa Rica will be a big match if we want to avoid needing a result at Costa Rica. New scenario to avoid needing any road results: 1. Mexico beats Panama tonight 2. Canada win/draw at Costa Rica 3. USA beats Panama at home That will clinch it If Panama gets a result in Mexico and Canada loses their first match of qualifying in Costa Rica then and only then things will get tense
  7. Costa Rica winning makes things interesting for sure but it was a distant 3rd in the 3 things that we wanted to happen tonight. If Mexico wins tonight and the US holds on, it would still be a scenario where if the US wins at home against Panama, US would have to lose both their other matches and CR win the rest of their matches. So the goal is still to beat Panama and be a virtual lock to advance.
  8. Jamaican me crazy Reggae Boyz
  9. Suddenly Harbaugh's quirks again seem fun to me after thinking they were detestable 24 hours ago
  10. Was that not a promotion he got with Vegas? Assistant director of player personnel to assistant GM?
  11. Is this really their jersey, or is this a stand in that someone made on MS Paint while waiting for the real jersey reveal?
  12. Knew it was too good to be true haha
  13. I can't tell if this is legit reporting yet but there are people reporting that Matt Nagy may be hired as the OC of the Lions. The Irish Bears podcast is where it originated. They are tight with our friend DBB and have him on the show a lot. They could just be trolling because it seems too ridiculous to be true.
  14. LOL why do people keep saying stuff like this? Excluding the weird COVID season he lost 4+ games at Michigan twice in 6 seasons. He had the team a win over Ohio State away from the CFP in 3 of his 6 seasons, succeeding once. Certainly deserves criticism for not beating Ohio State enough to make it to the CFP but people vastly underrate his overall body of work at Michigan due to a handful of (admittedly important) games. But he was roughly as successful as Lloyd Carr was in terms of overall record and conference record. Harbaugh's record at Michigan in 6 seasons (again excluding COVID season, if you want to count it ok): 59-20 (41-13) Lloyd Carr's last 6 years at Michigan: 56-20 (38-10) My bad. I think I was putting the last 2 Brady Hoke seasons on Harbaugh No worries. He has a complicated legacy due to his ability to coach teams to win virtually every game they were favored in, but having a poor record against the Big 3 (MSU, OSU, bowl games). His inability to win in those 3 games gives people the perception that he was much worse than he was. 5-13 against the Big 3 and 54-7 against everyone else
  15. in 4 of his HC years at SF, he went to the NFC Championship 3 times and the SB 1. I think blowing off the Vikings hiring Harbaugh is a mistake. I dont think he alone will turn the Vikings into a juggernaut, but his hiring will likely be a good thing rather than bad for the Vikings. On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point He also lost 4 games at Michigan at least like 5-6 times, with players he got to handpick himself on the recruiting trail. His offenses were also all in the 20s in the NFL (and typically around 60s in NCAA). LOL why do people keep saying stuff like this? On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point I think Harbaugh is a safe hire. He's a better version of John Fox, in that he can come in and make an unprofessional mess look respectable. He can help a very good team stay in the fight. He can inspire and probably get the most out of you. But he's not Belichik. He's not his brother. He's not going to be in his next gig for 10 years. He'll probably be a net positive for 5 years but will wear out his welcome and won't be the guy to make your QB a superstar. Congratulations on passing the GOAT Fred Hornkol!
  17. harbaugh is not worth all this wtf lol he's fine. in 4 of his HC years at SF, he went to the NFC Championship 3 times and the SB 1. I think blowing off the Vikings hiring Harbaugh is a mistake. I dont think he alone will turn the Vikings into a juggernaut, but his hiring will likely be a good thing rather then bad for the Vikings. On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point Yes we all know what he did nearly a decade ago in the NFL. There's no guarantee he can do that with Minnesota. I like Harbaugh and would still prefer he stayed at Michigan over hiring another coach but he has some deficiencies, particularly on the offensive end. I know he made Kaepernick a SB caliber QB but he has done nothing to develop QBs at Michigan. I don't think he's going to magically make Cousins better than he is now. He loves run heavy offenses that tire out the opposing defense and that's good for a team with Dalvin Cook, but Cook is oft injured so I'm not sure if the extra wear and tear is good for him. Also not great for Jefferson and Thelein. I do think he's a floor raiser coach and his teams play hard for him. Even though most people dismiss him as a super intense weirdo, he's genuinely a good dude and is well liked by Michigan players. There are definitely some positive attributes that could make this a great success for the Vikings, but its far from a sure thing IMO.
  18. Article from Grant Brisbee detailing every team's last prospects that were developed into all-stars at every position. I was a little surprised that the Cubs have had a homegrown all-star at every position besides 1B since 2008, though that is dubious because he considers Fukudome a homegrown prospect. If you remove that, their last OF all star is Palmeiro in 1988. https://theathletic.com/3099029/2022/02/02/from-mlb-prospect-to-all-star-the-longest-organizational-droughts-at-every-position/ Cubs blurb:
  19. DBB is wetbutt combined with purple fanta guy. This is not news but I'm gonna just post these things anyways from the gospel of DBB.
  20. DBB is pretty much gospel at this point. Wonder why the Bears couldn't close? Bills are obviously a solid job but if he was in town interviewing you'd think we had a shot of him coming here.
  21. Has the "guess what _ idiots did" thread title jumped the shark? Don't get me wrong its been epic but like 90% of new threads start with this lol
  22. I know this is obviously cherry-picking his great moments, but I don't know how anyone can watch this video and still say that Fields is a failed QB who can't be salvaged at this point. To be fair it's largely rival fans looking at his numbers, but the number of people who treat Fields a bust is ridiculous.
  23. ugh. that's horrible. We have a hell of a long way to go, but at least that horsefeathers would completely destroy someone today.
  24. Ironically, the Saints are all but certain to promote Dennis Allen to HC and are likely just going through the process with Flores. That has been the plan for when Payton retires for years. We'll see how that plays out then. The last thing any team wants to do is give the impression that Flores is a Rooney Rule interview
