    Is there a reason why everyone on Twitter is all the sudden extremely negative about the cubs chances at the SS? Maybe I missed something. It’s one thing to say “oh no the rumors dried up today” but it seems like people are already doing a post mortem on why the cubs didn’t get any of them

    That’s brutal. How can you start the playoffs when teams are still on bye? Was pretty pissed about it as a Justin Fields and Michael Pittman owner, but I took care of that by losing to the last place team and losing the tiebreaker to miss out on the playoffs. Oh so it all worked out then #-o

    Meaningless info because bad teams lose 1 score games because they’re bad as much as they lose them because of poor luck but interesting to see

    Assad would be in the minors. Sampson would probably be in the minors. Thompson would be the "swinger". Adbert would be a short inning guy as-is, but will probably be a multi-inning guy once they add veteran relievers. Yeah I think this is right. Sampson and Assad at Iowa, Alzolay and Thompson in the pen. Thompson will be a true long guy for like 3-4 inning stints, while Alzolay is more like a 2ish inning guy. After they sign the other starter and push Wesneski to Iowa as well, it'll be truly enviable depth. The bullpen depth isn't far behind either. Yeah I did mean to add Keegan as one of the swingmen but it seems like the Cubs like him more out of the pen as a 2-3 inning guy

    I don't see zips projections but Steamer projection for Frank Schwindel next year: .245/.291/.420 with a .307 wOBA.

    Yep bad news for a team that wants to go 5 maybe 6 years max on premiere FAs. Will be interesting to see if Jed bends on that or stays stubborn to his principles

    Unless South Korea overcomes a 2-0 deficit or Morocco beats Spain, it’s looking like the QF will be all European and South American teams. No surprise but I would have loved to have seen another region get a team in there.

    Completely agree. I'm excited about the cap space and high draft pick and all of that but like 90% of the Bears roster is currently marginal NFL talent. They have a lot to fix. You can rebuild quickly in the NFL, but Poles will need to have a very high hit rate IMO to be a contender next year. But its interesting that there's this conflict between Poles taking time to add pieces through the draft and FA and building out the roster to be set for long term success and the ticking clock that is Fields' rookie contract. My guess is that Poles would prefer to be slow and deliberate, but you also have to try to take advantage of an elite QB on a rookie deal because that dude is getting paid eventually.
