Anyone watched the docuseries Good Rivals on Prime Video? I saw an ad for it but didn’t realize it was about the Mexico-USMNT rivalry. Looking forward to watching it now as long as it doesn’t dumb down things for the casual fan

I'm so torn. I would love nothing more than Fields to singlehandedly beat GB this week, and my fantasy team needs a win in 1 of my money leagues. But the defense couldn't stop this same bad GB offense earlier in the season, and they had Quinn, Roquan, and Jackson then. So, they're going to lose anyway and now I have to actually care if Fields plays. I'm sticking with my earlier position. I think my favorite scenario is that Fields leads the Bears on a late (would be) game-winning drive, only to allow a TD return on the ensuing kickoff. Fields shuts people up by showing he "knows how to win", but we still solidify the draft status. I still want the Bears to win solely because its the Packers, but that is not a bad outcome at all. Put the fear of god into Packers fans and let them worry about the next decade. -

So, they're going to lose anyway and now I have to actually care if Fields plays. Selfishly for my fantasy team I'd like him to play. Superflex league and my other QB (Kyler) is on a bye leaving me with Heinicke and no one for the superflex spot. I've already clinched the playoffs but the top scoring regular season team gets 20% of the pot and I'm currently 87 points ahead of the 2nd place team. Should be good unless I have 2 stinkers the last 2 weeks (which is a possibility with no Kyler this week and no Fields next week). Fantasy aside, my first priority is always going to be whats best for Fields and the Bears. I tentatively trust the FO/coaching staff that if he plays he's not at risk of reinjury and is healthy enough to go. If that's not the case, its a perfect time to rest one more week and then get the bye before coming back for the final four games. -

Hot take: Edwards is probably a better RB anyway. Of course, you'd love to have both They are both really good but different type of backs. Corum is best when he's running between the tackles, finding small holes and then breaking through contact and dragging defenders extra yards with his massive legs. Of course he has speed so when he gets a clear hole he's gone, but what Michigan has done all year is use Corum to bust through the middle for moderate gains. Watching Edwards for 2 years, he's definitely more finesse. He often dances around at the line of scrimmage looking for a hole which means he gets stopped for short gains a lot more than Corum does. Michigan's offense has been to get good yardage on first down setting up manageable 2nd and 3rd downs. Or if passing on 1st down and throwing an incompletion, feeling confident in getting chunk yards on 2nd and 3rd down by running. Not sure they'll be able to do that as well without Blake. However Edwards in space is lethal. Much bigger passing game option when there's no cast on his dominant hand and pretty much explodes when he finds an opening which we saw last week. So yeah he's really good but Michigan will likely have to alter their offense a bit to adjust to a different type of back.

Cant wait to see xG in the CR-Germany match. Just in this half they've hit the inner part of the post twice and had 3 different breakaways, scoring once.

Winner of Big 10 SEC ACC PAC 10 Big 12 Wildcard Team not from any of the above conferences (The ND rule) That should be the playoff. 12 is way too many teams. It's a money grab. Alternatively, make a league out of the teams that make up those conferences (plus ND) and have a six-team playoff at the end of the season. See one of the things I really love about expanded playoffs is that it guarantees that a G5 team gets into the playoffs. This does something that has never happened before in college football - every team conceivably has a chance to win a championship. Always bugged me that 75% of college football teams had 0 chance of winning a title entering every year. Sure we will almost certainly never see a Sun Belt team win a national championship, but they have a route now. In your proposal, this technically is true too but 90% of the time its going to be Notre Dame.

Gotta admit that while I’m still a big playoff expansion supporter I can see how being part of the haves motivates you to argue in favor of keeping the 4 team model

Weird, I read it was the Big Ten angling to get PSU to the Rose Bowl since it would be the 3rd time in 5 years that OSU made it and the 2 most obvious opponents are the 2 teams they played recently. Also OSU only sold like 13k of their 20k ticket allotment last year. Apparently not a lot of enthusiasm to go to the Rose Bowl after you get your butt kicked out of the CFP by Michigan. If OSU was pushing it, I bet they’d rather go to the Orange Bowl and play Clemson given their recent CFP matchups. But Woody Hayes would he turning in his grave if he knew OSU was trying to avoid going to the Rose Bowl

Technically Costa Rica can qualify with a draw, as long as Spain loses by 14 goals :D If Costa Rica draws they move on if Spain wins too. True, but that scenario is not as funny because it doesn't involve Spain losing by 14 goals.

I think you're confusing Australia and New Zealand, Australia is definitely in AFC and went through their qualifying. No, I get it, they qualify via AFC but they are still located in Oceania, so I hesitate to call them an Asian team. Got it...I thought you were listing them by confederation since you broke the others down by confederation

Incredible drama. Love moments like that where there are so many scenarios you have to calculate in real time to figure out what happens if another goal is scored. Was a bit annoyed that the announcers were not on top of those scenarios. For a good 10 minutes they kept saying Mexico was through because they had more goals scored which was not at all the case. They they realized it came down to fair play but it took them another 5 minutes to know where the yellow cards for both teams stood. Then when Saudi Arabia scored Ian Darke acted like it eliminated Mexico when it literally did not change anything regarding what Mexico needed to do to advance. I guess its easier when you are sitting watching at home to figure it out, but you'd think the announcers would be prepped ahead of time for a completely plausible 2-0 ARG, 2-0 MEX result. Anyways, my 88 year old grandfather was born in Poland and moved to the States after living in a German work camp during WW2. Got him all psyched up when I told him the Poland games were going to be on Fox over the air (has never had cable). Just talked to him and while he was disgusted at how bad they looked was absolutely thrilled that Poland advanced. Put a smile on my face to hear him so happy.
