  1. I am assuming this is the wheel route you're referring to, the last play of the game. Fields said that Montgomery was his 5th read on the play and there's only like a 5% chance he gets to the point where he's looking his way. Here is a breakdown of the play with the person arguing Fields made the correct read and throw. Mooney ran a short route (should have been in the end zone not barely on there), and should have caught it. Fields recognized man to man isolated on the right side and threw it to a position where he had his hands on the ball at the goal line.
  2. Hows the Blackhawks season going so far? Ask Patrick Kane
  3. Zombie deadspin: https://deadspin.com/justin-fields-and-a-tale-of-two-halves-1849658066
  4. It was brought up because a lot of people said the TE should have run the route harder. Even Fields (right before he said that he's an NFL QB and has to make that throw) said the TE could have run faster.
  5. I've seen a lot of people blaming the TE on this throw, because he did lumber out of his break and was moving way too slow. Even "experts" are saying Fields threw it to a spot and the TE has to get there. And ya'll know I love Justin, but there's 0 way I'm buying that. All that may be 100% true. Fields may have thrown it to a spot that a slow TE stumbled slowly to try to get to, but that's a fast break slam dunk. It simply has to be complete, doesn't care how flashy the throw, give the guy a chance to catch it as easily as the throw was thrown. Even Fields mentioned that the TE could have run faster, which I thought was odd to say. I agree with you. If Kmet is running that route he gets to the ball (whether he catches it is another story...) but knowing a slow lumbering TE is running that route he has to make a better throw there.
  6. This is almost certainly a whole bunch of nothing but The Dodgers and Cubs both prefer shorter term high AAV contacts and I have a feeling that's not what Judge wants.
  7. Patrick and Mustipher with another pathetic pass blocking job tonight. Jones joins them as well.
  8. Justin Fields by half this year: 1st half - 27-59 for 388 yards, 45.8 comp%, 6.6 Y/A, 0 TD, 3 INT, 15 sacks, 46.4 QB Rating 2nd half - 36-56 for 481 yards, 64.3 comp%, 8.6 Y/A, 4 TD, 2 INT, 8 sacks, 100.4 QB Rating What is the reason for these slow starts? Poor game week planning? Needs time to get into the rhythm of the game? I feel like 6 games is enough time that these splits are becoming meaningful.
  9. Yikes. I mean I know some of the pressures are self inflicted but that’s terrible.
  10. I’m not surprised a bunch of 4-7 round picks have not been able to step in and immediately fill key holes on a bad roster. Almost no other team in NFL history would start a 5th round rookie at LT. What do you expect? Gordon seems to have improved a bit since his disastrous first 2 games, you mentioned Brisker has been solid. Jones is a disaster but hasn’t proven or not proven he can be an NFL receiver yet as he’s missed so much time. I mean horsefeathers him for botching 2 critical punts that had a major effect in losses but he was drafted as a receiver too. No one forced him to go DB-DB-KR with his first three picks when he knew full well what the offense needed. The fact that he can't make the field as a receiver consistently on *this* roster is the most damning thing you could say about VJJ. I’m not arguing for the picks he made. I’m talking about being disappointed at the performance of late round draft picks thrown into key roles out of necessity
  11. It’s crazy when you think about it. All these things had to happen to lose the game: -Throw an INT off a players helmet at the 5 yard line -Stopped short at the 1 inch line on 4th down -Muffed punt inside the Bears 10 yard line leading to the only Washington TD of the game -dropped pass in the end zone on 3rd and goal from the 5 -stopped short at the 1 inch line on 4th down If any of those 5 things go differently the Bears probably win
  12. True enough but, once again, given the terrible lack roster management by Pace and the lack of resources just what could Poles have done? I'm not defending Poles but, people are talking as if he had a plethora of resources and moves available, he did not. Now, next season, a little bit different picture. His early draft results have been real bad... Even with Brisker. 13. I know it’s not the dynasty patriots anymore but Belichick has to be so jacked up that he’s gonna have a light week of gameplanning to beat an XFL caliber team
  14. I’d be interested to see Fields splits between 1st half and 2nd half. Seems like quite frequently even going back to last year he has been bad in the first half and then redeems himself in the 2nd half. Wonder why that is
  15. Bears outgained Washington 392-214
  16. First half NSBB: fields just doesn’t have it, he’s not the guy Second half NSBB: fields deserves so much better he should ask for a trade And yes I participated on both sides
  17. You seem to really want an answer! So...nothing. Fake an injury. Your board is glitching!
  18. This is an ex-NFL scout with 28k followers and generally respected at least on Twitter
  19. Maybe I’m way off but i thought the bears should have run on 2nd down. Plenty of time and the Bears have really struggled to pass for a score in goal to go situations. Certainly wouldn’t have done a vanilla run play but something to catch them off guard
  20. 0 points from 3 trips inside the 5 yard line
  21. Lmao lost by an inch
  22. Please don’t blow this
  23. 1:49 and a short field. If we had TOs I’d think we have a shot but not sure with the line play today
  24. We knew the Bears were going to be bad but it’s crazy seeing these fringe NFL players put into big spots and failing spectacularly
  25. This game is a really bad look for Poles
