Fields' QBR today was a subpar 40.2 which surprises me. Does taking sacks play into that rating? Fumbling but not losing the fumble? I thought he played a fine game overall. Took 6 sacks but will be interested to see how many of them were on the line and how many on him. No dangerous throws that I can remember though he mostly stuck to short passes today. Had those 2-3 inaccurate short passes which has been a problem for him (but not really as much lately). Still some stuff to clean up but solid performance against an elite D
Conforto is kind of the last shot at a big bat, unless you think Mancini is. Yeah...the Cubs really need a lot more power than they currently have. Swanson is solid but basically replacing Contreras's power. Hope that Seiya can amp it up next year. Bellinger will hit HRs but unless he recovers from his swan dive not going to provide enough consistent power. Right now either Morel or Madrigal is our projected DH I think.
Sanders - 1.4 points Freiermuth - 0.0 points Cowboys D - 8 points Butker - 1 point Started Pacheco while opponent started McKinnon, adv them. I'm still in it but Davante Adams isn't doing much and Brady decided to have the game of the season so far against a good D. Picked up Waller but didn't start him because he just got off the IR. Waller has a TD Freiermuth didn't get a target I don't think. AJ Brown had an excellent game but was stopped inside the 4 yard line twice. Fields stepped out at the 9 negating a rushing TD. I just needed to vent. I'm basically going to be in a position where I need Barkley to have 25 points tonight to have a shot and he hasn't been good in weeks.
Can we blame this on Santos for missing the XP, which caused the Eagles to go for 2, making the refused FG attempt the difference in the the game? Or do we absolve him because we saw Elliott miss a gimme FG later on?
Fields 10-16, 98 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 100.5 QB rating. Really wish we could get him more passing attempts but it just wasn’t happening with the Eagles pass rush and no WRs of note
We should keep track of tank MVP. Santos directly cost us the Eagles game, likely cost us the Packers game, and his missed XP and refusal to kick a makable FG is the difference in todays score. He’s gotta be up there
Everytime a team gets the ball in the 2 minute drill and you know they are getting the ball to start the 2nd half I think “well they could score 14 points before the other team touches the ball again” and it almost never happens that way. But today it has (minus the non-Bears possession in the last 30 secs)
I wouldn't think someone with such weak arm strength could be so strong defensively at SS, unless arm strength differences are negligible and thus just don't matter that much.
He likely sees Correa in a higher tier of player And he's probably right, but I'd bet on 7 good-to-decent years of Swanson over 13 good-to-decent years of Correa. I don’t actually think anyone expects Correa to play 13 years. If he does $27m might be an average MLB contract by then lol
Nope, this makes the Correa contract look like an absolute steal. People need to stop being trained to care about years on a contract. You'll never sign anyone good anymore if you care. Huh? Swanson: 7/177 = $25M AAV Correa: 13/350 - $27M AAV Basically the same per year, but half the commitment. Why is that horrible? He likely sees Correa in a higher tier of player
Take that? Lol Well good it makes the plan to sign a bunch of complimentary pieces seem more enticing. We will have great defense up the middle for the next several years
