  1. its really difficult to watch PCAs never ending death spiral
  2. Kind of sucks when your offense rarely scores more than 4 runs in a game and the opponent scores 3 in the top of the 1st
  3. fWAR updates: Kyle Tucker - 4.7 Cody Bellinger - 4.6 Cam Smith - 1.0 Isaac Paredes - 2.7 Would still absolutely do the trade in a heartbeat knowing what we did in December, though would be a little less excited about it if you told me that the Bellinger money would mostly not be re-invested. Just sucks how it turned out in the 2nd half of the season as he was on pace for like 8-9 wins in early July. Hopefully he get some ABs under him before the playoffs and the rest helps him get past his struggles (that he was already starting to get past).
  4. Bears signed Jake Moody to their practice squad. Been kind of trash in the NFL (obviously since he was cut this week), but he's a big enough name that Santos should feel a little nervous. He was so good in college, not sure why it didnt translate to the NFL.
  5. I guess I don’t understand why the Mets have a 6.8% chance vs Cubs 3.8%. They are 10 games out of first, only 2 games up on a WC spot and pretty much locked into a road WC round series if they make it. Does FG model think that much more highly of them? Or lowly of Milwaukee who they’d play if they even make the playoffs?
  6. I know they’ve had pitching issues and injuries but considering all the young players they signed long term extensions with that everyone was marveling over it’s crazy that they are this bad
  7. More like a 90/10 guess
  8. Yeah it seemed like the obvious decision if you had even one ounce of doubt that he could kick it through the end zone. I mean thats huge...the difference between having 15 seconds and 55 seconds to drive for a FG is monumental. Once that kick was returned, unless the Bears somehow forced a turnover or a blocked punt, they were basically down to needing a crazy lateral play or a 30 yard pass to the sidelines and a Hail Mary to have any shot (a FG was probably not feasible without a huge penalty given Santos distance issues). Those are the kind of botched decisions we fired Eberflus for.
  9. Since the Bears announced their stadium project in 2021: New Titans stadium was announced in October 2022, broke ground in 2024, opening in 2027 New Bills stadium was announced in March 2022, broke ground in 2023 and opening in 2026 New Browns stadium was announced in October 2024 planning to open in 2029 New Commanders stadium was announced in 2025 planning to open in 2030 New Broncos stadium announced in 2025 planning to open in 2031 Meanwhile the Bears can’t even definitively pick a site for their stadium (even yesterdays statement ended by saying that they “hope” to make Arlington Heights their new home) and are targeting 2031, a full 10 years after the first mentions of this
  10. Wasn’t the run scoring environment worse in that era than it is now?
  11. Can US Soccer demand that every World Cup match they have be played in Columbus? Yeah Japans B team in a friendly but Dos a Cero bitches (I’m dying for anything sports related to make me happy right now)
  12. 2006 Tigers stand out. There were in first place all year, blew the division the last weekend of the season and ended up going to the World Series where it was eventually cancelled and no winner named.
  13. I just keep going back to his insistence on only taking the Commanders job if they kept Sam Howell at QB and didn't draft a QB (ultimately Daniels). Maybe that story is overblown, but the Commanders literally turned their jet around while en route to meet with Ben. He might be a brilliant offensive mind and leader, but he's said repeatedly he's designing a new offense around Caleb, not trying to implement what he was doing in Detroit. Which is ultimately a good thing...but what if his offensive concepts rely on a QB that can make the throws and stay in the pocket? Maybe too much overthinking after 1 week...
  14. O’Sullivan mercifully put his Caleb tape breakdown behind a paywall
  15. Probably not. They brought that MSU kicker in for training camp but it didn't look like he was serious competition for Santos at all.
  16. Most kickers are undrafted. In fact the ones that get drafted are frequently (but obviously not always) busts. I don't disagree that there's probably someone out there that can be better than Santos. But I also remember what a disaster it was for the Bears between Gould and Santos.
  17. Caleb apparently had the 2nd highest PFF grade on the Bears yesterday. That could mean one of 3 things: 1. Caleb was better than we thought 2. The team was terrible in general and Caleb was just a little less terrible (77.1 PFF grade isn't great) 3. PFF grades are bunk
  18. Don't know if this was mentioned but I saw the Eagles traded for Tank Bigsby. The price was somewhat high (5th and 6th) but considering the Bears depth at RB is so low right now that DJ Moore was operating out of the backfield for several snaps last night, I would have liked to have made that move.
  19. Jaylen has to be close if he was warming up pregame last night right?
