  1. I think 2 more wins puts us at like a 40% chance of making the playoffs (not based on any math, just my own guesstimate). The issue is, you have the following teams that can play under .500 the rest of the year and still finish 10-7: Lions/Packers (whichever doesn't win the division in a scenario where the Bears finish 10-7), and 2 of the Rams/Seahawks/49ers. If the Bears finish 2-4, at least 3 of those losses will come against the NFC and at least 1 of them would come against the Lions or Packers. They play SF H2H, so if the 2-4 comes with a loss to them, SF wins the tiebreaker. If the Packers win the division, one of the Bears wins would need to come against the Lions to have a shot at the tiebreaker over them (both teams are 1-2 against the North). If the Lions win the division, the Bears would need to sweep the Packers or go 1-1 and hope the Packers lose 2 more division games since they are 2-0 in the division. All that to say, the Bears should aim for at least 3-3 to feel good about the playoffs.
  2. Yeah. I mean you gotta give him more than 7 starts or whatever but as the leader of the JJ is actually good bandwagon I’m throwing in the towel.
  3. Definitely 2001 vibes with how they are pulling out wins but obviously the franchise is in much better shape for a sustainable run of success than they were back then.
  4. Need better from you Taylor
  5. Come on just a 1st. No bad Caleb throws, no negative running plays
  6. Appears like none. This is it
  7. More than fine with punting there. The bears offense is moving the ball. If the Steelers score here which is fairly likely, I have confidence the Bears can move the ball again. But giving them the ball inside the 40 is not optimal imo. Strangely enough the Bears have thrown the ball on 17 straight plays
  8. Apparently Stevenson was seen heading into the locker room. If he’s out that’s our top 3 LBs and top 5 CBs all out plus our starting and backup LT
  9. Need about 3 more TOs to have a shot
  10. Yeah they suck. Getting to the second level with ease
  11. Yeah I haven't been following qualifying too closely but saw the results last night. Crazy that several of the countries that you'd normally see in the hex like Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Jamaica, Nicaragua and T&T either were eliminated or only made the playoff while countries like Curaco and Haiti qualified directly. It's going to be an interesting WC with the new format and all the first time qualifiers.
  12. How about just in general. Only friendlies but they’ve been beating some good squads lately.
  13. Tomlin has never had a losing season as Steelers head coach so I’m not sure if I’d call them a fake winning team. Definitely a fake good team though.
  14. Yeah I don't really care about this, I just thought it was interesting. Even if they actually aren't 7-3 good, winning brings positive vibes and can only be positive for the future. Plus this partially erases 30 years of inexplicable unlucky Bears losses we've all experienced. We were due for some positive luck. The only issue is if the winning causes Poles to believe that this team is a contender as assembled and has a Washington-like offseason.
  15. Especially when I'd argue they don't have a player currently on the roster as good as any of Billups, Rip, Prince, Rasheed or Ben Wallace. Maybe Budzelis gets there, but they seem far away from replicating either model.
  16. Has no bearing on next week's game but I thought it was wild that apparently the Steelers are 1-12 as a franchise in Chicago. The record is crazy but also only the 14th meeting in Chicago for 2 teams that started playing each other in 1934.
  17. That sounds extremely familiar…
  18. They came into this week 25th in DVOA. I have a feeling that won’t go up after this one.
  19. We find the dumbest ways to lose games. just waiting for JJ to finally find Jefferson deep and the crowd to go crazy
  20. Believe that this team is different or defer to the 40 years of Bears fandom where they blow this 95% of the time?
  21. I'm not putting labels on it. Outside of being a legit contender, watching a young team with a still to be defined ceiling figure it out is about as good as it gets in sports.
  22. It’s weird they look terrible much of the time but I still think their offense has a much higher upside than last year and a bit less of a defensive upside. They are just horribly undisciplined due to some combination of youth (one of the youngest in FBS) and incompetent coaching. They could lose out or they could beat Maryland and OSU and be on the CFP bubble. Who the hell knows
  23. The first time we faced the Vikings I was worried about their blitz happy defense and pass rush. Now that doesn't bother me nearly as much and I'm terrified about Jefferson and Addison running wild. JJ will make mistakes though, just gotta be opportunistic like we've been all year.
