    Ever since the Cubs broke the curse I feel like we’ve played day playoff games 80% of the time when pre 2016 it was the opposite

    Out of curiosity did they need to put him on the IL? Couldn’t they have just not named him to the NL WC roster? At least gives the option of putting him on the NLDS roster if he’s feeling better in a week. I guess the answer is likely that there’s no chance that he’s healthy in a week but either way seems unnecessary to put him on the IL when they can simply just not add him to the roster unless I’m missing something.

    I imagine rib fractures take more than 15 days but in case it’s one of those things where it’s fine after a short rest, his earliest return date puts him roughly game 4 of the NLDS.

    Baseball is a crapshoot and the Cubs wouldn’t be the first team to lose an ace and get far in the playoffs. Not that I’m overly high on their chances but this alone doesnt doom them.

    Taillon is pitching today so he'd have to be lined up for Game 3 at this rate unless this is just the equivalent of a bullpen session.

    I've been looking it up, I think I should be able to get MLB.tv in Greece. I don't subscribe to it but I'm sure they have a playoff package. Or I'll just find a stream somewhere. That's what I did back in like 2014 when the Blackhawks were in the playoffs and I was in Germany. Woke up at 3am, watched the game and then fell back asleep lol. Selfishly I want day games though, a 1pm start is 9pm in Greece, perfect timing.

    With the offense looking better I'm starting to worry about the fact that I'm going to be in Greece the week of the NLDS. If we get night games thats gonna be a tough few days. (not an intentional humblebrag but one nonetheless)

    Alright...only way we don't play ball at Wrigley next week is the Padres sweeping the Diamondbacks and the Cubs losing the last 2 vs STL. Starting to feel real.
