  1. Adbert going to go nuts if he gets this 3rd strike
  2. Come on Alzolay, lets see the swing and miss stuff.
  3. And now lets see what the Cardinals do with 1st and 2nd and 0 outs...
  4. Of course Willson with a 1st pitch single. Now in walkoff zone
  5. If we don't win this game we're going to lament a whole bunch of things late. -Bellinger thrown out at home in the 6th -Runner on 3rd with 1 out in the 8th -1st and 2nd with 0 outs in the 9th
  6. 2 on, 0 out with a 1 run lead and we bunt into a double play, wow
  7. Guess these games are big. Bringing in our closer with 2 outs and no one on just to face their best hitter. Good stuff
  8. Swanson for some reason watches strike 3 with a runner on 3rd and 1 out with the Cubs holding a late 1 run lead. Bet he wants that one back.
  9. Scoreboard check: Brewers down 8-4 (chance to get to within 4.5 in the central if scores hold) Diamondbacks down 4-0 (currently out of playoffs but ahead of Cubs) Phillies up 2-1 (holding one of the WC spots) Marlins win 6-5 (similar to DBacks situation) Reds and Giants playing later.
  10. Shaving the mustache means Wisdom means business
  11. Funny thing is the Cardinals only put 2 lefties in the lineup, albeit 2 in the first 3 hitters. But it didn’t really do much. Would have rather Smyly started and gone 2 times through the order and then Wesneski piggybacking him. If you do it that way you can use Wesneski for as long as you need him for.
  12. Lars Nootbar loves this Cubs opener crap. Homered to lead off the game against both openers (Fulmer and Wes), and then greeted Smyly with a double when he entered last game and another HR tonight
  13. Dammit I thought Mancini had that one. I usually have a pretty good feel for HR balls off the bat on TV unless it’s dead center and I was pretty sure it was gone
  14. Apparently Chip Caray went on the Score a few minutes ago to double down on his rant last night about unwritten rules and all that horsefeathers. What a horsefeathers tool.
  15. Sure..they are close enough to the playoffs now that it seems stupid to trade Bellinger, especially with the QO available for him as a fallback. Stroman is a little trickier but if he's genuine about wanting to stay with the Cubs they'll have all the opportunity in the world to resign him if they want to. Other than those 2 any sell pieces were going to be minor deals anyways. They don't need to go crazy and make bold buy moves, but 1-2 smaller moves for a reliever and a corner IF would go a long way to helping the team continue the push without having to hurt the future of the team all that much.
  16. Remember the poll was for when the Cubs went over .500 again. Still one more hill to climb!
