  1. Reds lose. The Cubs for now go from percentage points ahead of the Reds for WC3 to percentage points ahead of the Marlins for WC3.
  2. I see that and they've even struggled since the deadline but they made several deadline moves so I see a better team lurking in there whereas the Reds are essentially unchanged but are regressing to what we expected.
  3. Will be mildly funny if Mancini's contract prevents us from making a real attempt to lock down Candelario. It shouldn't though so I assume he'll want at least 3 years and the Mancini contract only affects next season.
  4. Yeah i was going to make that point too. At this point the regression we've been waiting for all season with the Reds seems to be happening. The Marlins are probably the more formidable foe, though they've been struggling big time too. Brewers just hit 2 straight HRs to take the lead over the Rockies
  5. As I posted that the Marlins hit a HR and now lead 5-4 in the 9th
  6. Speaking of daily pre-game discussion: Reds and Marlins are tied at 4 heading into the Marlins half of the 9th Rockies are leading the Brewers 4-3 in the 5th We obviously prefer the Reds to lose but with the Marlins just 0.5 games behind us in the long run it doesn't matter who loses that.
  7. Using this as a daily discussion thread. There was some talk on Twitter today (yes TWITTER) about how the Cubs end the season in Milwaukee. With the NL Central leader currently lagging behind even WC1 and WC2 right now, there's at least a decent chance that the Brewers and Cubs may already be locked into the 3 and 6 seeds (if they both stay ahead of the pack), with the series determining who gets the division and plays the WC round at their ballpark. Meaning we could see a scenario where Game 162 is played to determine whether the WC round gets played in Milwaukee or in Chicago.
  8. Was just thinking about how we were tracking McKinstry’s performance earlier this year as his OPS was in the .850s. Looked up how he’s doing and .193/.228/.293/.520 since the start of June (200 PA)
  9. Back to where we were Sunday, percentage points ahead in the WC, 1.5 GB in the Central
  10. The Brewers have walked 3 straight runs in with the bases loaded and 0 outs on 12 straight pitches
  11. Brewers and Rockies going into extras nats beat the Phillies in game 2 angels had a 4-0 on SF but it’s 4-3 now
  12. I am ok with the “let the leadoff hitter reach and then quickly get 3 outs” strategy as long as it works
  13. Well he’s not gonna get it tonight unless Madrigal goes yard here lol
  14. Morel in a 1-17 slump with 8 Ks, but does have 5 walks during that span
  15. Ugh 2 perfectly placed grounders for hits. Time to buckle down
  16. Pete Alonso is now guaranteed to bat one more time today
  17. Interesting going to Merryweather. I’m assuming it’s matchup related and not trying to sneak an extra day off for Leiter
  18. You all collectively read a lot about baseball, have there been any articles about umpires calling balls and strikes much worse than years past or is this just some narrative I created in my head at some point and fed by confirmation bias?
