  1. Hope they play well against the scrubs and the Brewers struggle against good teams. It often feels like when you get these stretches it doesn’t end up being as easy as it seems
  2. Ross loves punting on games for some reason
  3. Well you see they are on this really tough stretch and only have 2 off days in the next 4 days
  4. Brewers winning, Marlins losing, Reds scoreless in game 1
  5. I think the other 2 were fine. I know he’s struggled in the past but we’re putting a lot of weight on one pass attempt. If he’s been working on mechanics all offseason to improve we’ll hopefully see it as he gets more game action.
  6. If the Cubs lose this they will fall to 3-9 when attempting to complete a sweep
  7. And a 3 run HR, Cubs trail error (called a hit), HBP and HR
  8. Legit impressive hustle from Vlad. Thought that was a sure DP even with the slow bounce
  9. Seems like Seiya has gone back to being too passive early in counts. Granted those were some good pitches by Ryu and one was a borderline strike but I’ve noticed him taking first pitch strikes again the last 2 days
  10. The Cubs are 50-50 in their last 100 games, they are thoroughly mediocre
  11. For as good as the Cubs have been lately, they have not swept a 3+ game series since mid-June against the Pirates. Their 3 sweeps this year have been at Pirates, vs Pirates and at Oakland. Seems like every time they have a chance to sweep they drop the final game. Hopefully that changes today!
  12. Giants and Phillies both lost. Cubs now 1.5 and 3.5 games behind each respectively
  13. And hey those amazing Brewers managed to cross into positive run differential today. Unstoppable force
  14. Brewers win 3-2. Cubs remain 2.5 games behind in the Central
  15. White Sox blow a 2 run lead over Brewers in the 7th. Bastards
  16. I obviously know this is sarcasm, but it reminded me of a crazy stat I saw today. Mahomes average air yards per TD pass last year was 4.5 yards
  17. For fun, here are upcoming schedules after this series: Cubs: 2 vs. CWS 3 vs. KC 3 @ DET 4 @ PIT 3 vs. MIL Reds: 2 vs. CLE 3 vs. TOR 3 @ LAA 4 @ ARI 3 @ SF MIL: 3 @ LAD 3 @ TEX 2 vs. MIN 3 vs. SD 3 @ CHC MIA: 3 vs. HOU 3 @ LAD 3 @ SD 3 vs. WAS 2 vs. TB So basically all our competitors have pretty damn tough schedules coming up while the Cubs get to play the dregs of the AL and NL Central. Nothing is written in stone but the schedules REALLY play out in our favor the next couple of weeks.
  18. That's baseball for ya. Guaranteed at least a .500 road trip at least and really nice schedule coming up after tomorrow.
  19. Marlins win 3-1 so they’ll remain 0.5 back. With the Reds rainout the Cubs will end the night in sole possession of WC3. The Cubs have also I believe equaled their high water mark at 5 games over .500, last reached way back in April when they were 11-6
