These types of games remind me why, even after all the stomach punches and groin kicks the Cubs have given me, baseball is the best sport ever created. -
Damn, I thought we were out of it

Why is Novoa still on this team? He's terrible.
-
Just so you guys know, Murton HR's are referred to as "Murt Hurts" I'll excuse you this time.
-
Dusty is such a brilliant in game manager. Definitely needs to be extended for 4-5 years.
-
Please tell me someone some how got that on tape
-
Should have been doing his jogging and sprinting during Spring Training Scott. Cya in 2007, come in shape and ready to not hurt Lee this year.
-
Just you, the game is going at almost a perfect 3 hour page. 2 hours 10 minutes, 1 out into the bottom of the 7th 3 hour page? Is that like a 3 hour tour? Sorry, I think I've been reading Dusty quotes too much. I of course meant pace

You know reporters are going to ask idiot face why he took out Mateo after cruising along with 78 pitches. So lets try to think of funny excuses that he might use. My guess: "Who is Juan Mateo? I don't know where he came from. I don't know how many pitches he's used to throwing"

Haha even when the baseball gods let us enjoy an exciting game despite being 18 games under .500, they still end up pulling the rug out from under us...
-
We're going to lose because Dusty didn't want to expose a pitcher to a HBP, I hate the Cubs
-
Ugh..I really had completely forgotten that Bynum was ever on this team. He's not signed for after this year, is he? If he's not, you know Hendry is on it
-
Len makes a good point, this will likely (been saying this for 3 years though) be the last time we ever see Clemens. What a way to go out by plunking his butt into retirement
-
The last inning and a half sort of makes up for that phantom beanball to Berkman in 2004
-
Unbelievable, obviously the umps don't give star pitchers preferential treatment.
-
OK Mateo drops to #74 just ahead of Kyle Orton in Chicago athletes after not coming up to bat after hitting Clemens.
-
Now Mateo is getting Clemens calls! Thats what you get when you do something half the White Sox could never do - retaliate.
-
New favorite order of Chicago athletes: 1. Zambrano 2. Nocioni 3. Mateo
-
Mateo is a gangster, so what if he hit the free out with 1 out
-
I like Jock 32% more after that HR

Making a Cubs walkoffs video (completed!)

Hawkins gave up the 3-run, game tying home run to Diaz with two outs in the 9th. Some no-name hit the game-winning home run off Mercker in the 11th. God that game sucked. I remember watching it in NY right before my aunt's wedding. The announcers were just saying how he hadn't hit a homerun in Shea or something....That just crushed me. And, I guess, the Cubs. I specifically remember the feeling I had when that was hit. About 4-5 seconds of shock, then I felt a hard pain sink slowly from my heart to my stomach. I looked over at my friend and he looked like the same exact thing was going on. -

The Wood game was not in the same game as the Dusty ejection, Freel catch and back to back shots by Sosa and Alou. It was the day before. The Wood ejection game: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240417116 The day BEFORE, the Sosa/Alou/Dusty/Freel game: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240416116 I only skimmed this thread, so apologies if this was corrected already.
