This is bad. Grossman looked terrible, Smith looks great. Someone said he looks like Orton....he looks worse. What the hell Grossman? I want to like you but your not giving me a reason to

Won't the bars be there when the Bars are over? They may even be showing the Bars at the bars. I say go Bars! My plan is to watch the first half here, and the second half at the bars.

Go out to the bars or watch the Bars?
  4. ...in Iowa while Glendon gets the start for the Chicago team.
  5. As Brenly noted, you'd like to see some competitive fire or emotion from him. He had that quite a bit early in his career. He looks indifferent out there. Who knows, like I can tell that from my couch, but it looks that way. We all remember his 'challenge' of Barry Bonds in 2003 as his ultimate awesome moment. Its amazing how far he has fallen since then
  6. I personally think the Cubs should option Prior to AAA and let him work out his kinks and get his confidence back. Then again, the Cubs aren't really playing for anything...
  7. If he signed with the Cubs, I would sit as close to where he plays in CF as I could and boo him recklessly. You think Jacque Jones got it bad? Edit: For all those who plan to call me out for ripping on the home team note that I am half kidding
  8. Who says we aren't fighting for a WC spot! We are only 9.5 games out! We are right in the thick of it. I wish people would stop saying that, even if in jest. I really do not want this team to rope me back in....
  9. The pitching staff pitching like it was supposed to (albeit with different names), and Ramirez, Barrett and Murton are why we are playing better. If the pitching staff was even 75% as good as we expected it to be, we'd be fighting for a Wild Card spot right now, I have no doubts.
  10. This thread sucks
  11. Z hasn't given up, so neither should you
  12. That video ruined my night and made it at the same time
  13. It started in RF bleachers. We were in LF bleachers. They started it a few times until it finally spilled over to willing participants in LF. Some regular at the beer stand was having a total conniption fit over the whole thing. To make up for it some of the LF fans began the old "Right Field sucks!" chant. If thats true, I am renouncing my membership in the RF fan club and am going to switch primarily to the LF side. RIGHT FIELD SUCKS!
  14. I don't think either Gretzky or Jordan should have their numbers retired throughout their respective games. Those sort of retirements should be reserved for people who do things that transend the game. For Jackie Robinson to break the baseball color barrier and open the game to people of every race and color is something that deserves individual recognition by all teams.
  15. In order to reduce the load on the youngster, Dusty Baker has elected to let every Brewers hitter start with a 3-0 count.
  16. Extra Division Standings: St. Louis 37-25 Milwaukee - 27-30 Cincinnati - 26-30 Houston - 32-38 Pittsburgh - 26-46 Cubs - 16-39

Anyone going to the practice at Soldier Field on Wednesday? I am a bit intreged
  18. I like your idea, but I don't think any lineup with both Cedeno and Izturis in it competes for the playoffs. We need serious OBP upgrade, and I don't see Jimbo doing that.
  19. Cubs must go 24-28 the rest of the way to finish with 70 wins. I guess we have to try to look forward to some sort of goals. for the really ambitious, a 33-19 mark would tie our win total from last year, a 34-18 mark would net us 80 wins, and a 35-17 mark would give us a .500 record For the pessimists, a 16-36 record would net us a 100 loss season.
  20. Who had August 5th in the Mark Prior First Win Pool?
  21. Tampa Bay with as many wins as the Cubs?!? Fire Hendry! Fire Baker! Hey our payroll is only $40 million more then them!
  22. He looks like he enjoys life If anyone has Comcast on Demand, somewhere on there, there are Cubs players that come in and read books to schools. Demp, Eyre and Pierre are the three I think.
  23. First chance at 2B for Cedeno is a bad one
  24. Roster turnover since 2000 Based off the current 25 man roster: 1 from 2000 (Will Ohman) 1 from 2001 (Will Ohman) 2 from 2002 (Mark Prior, Carlos Zambrano) 3 from 2003 (Mark Prior, Carlos Zambrano, Aramis Ramirez) 7 from 2004 (Mark Prior, Carlos Zambrano, Aramis Ramirez, Michael Barrett, Michael Wuertz, Ryan Dempster, Neifi Perez) 14 from 2005 (Mark Prior, Carlos Zambrano, Aramis Ramirez, Michael Barrett, Michael Wuertz, Ryan Dempster, Neifi Perez, Henry Blanco, Will Ohman, Roberto Novoa, Ronny Cedeno, Matt Murton, Ryan Theriot, Rich Hill)
