  1. Gotta play Neifi in preparation of next year dudes. Jimbo's orders
  2. The Indians are sellers, why would they want to trade for Aram?
  3. If the Cubs trade Barrett, I'd like a Boof Bonser, Francisco Liriano, and a Joe Nathan please.
  4. If Lee goes to Minn, those who want to sign him in the offseason would likely be happy. Minnesota doesn't seem like a team that is going to shell out big bucks for Lee.
  5. Way out of it? That trade was in 2002, and as of the trade deadline in 2002 they were leading the division by 5 games. That was a classic buy from a buying team and has no relevence to the Cubs current situation. Whoops, i feel like an idiot
  6. The standard for this was the Cardinals trading for Scott Rolen when their team was out of it. If they can do it, why can't we?
  7. If Hendry does nothing...we RIOT!!! or just pay even more attention to Bears training camp
  8. Im gonna go on a little limb here ALE - Boston ALC - Minnesota ALW - Anaheim ALWC - Detroit NLE - New York NLC - St. Louis NLW - San Francisco NLWC - Atlanta Minnesota over Anaheim Detroit over Boston New York over San Francisco Atlanta over St. Louis Minnesota over Detroit New York over Atlanta Minnesota over New York I'm insane Edit: Of course, this could all be changed in a week after the deadline
  9. Great, Pierre pops up so now the pitchers spot doesnt come up and Glendon is still in to blow it
  10. I wonder if Randolph is going to tip his cap to Prior today
  11. Geez, 11 AM? I will barely be through my first cup of coffee at work... Edit: Do the Mets have a PRIOR Engagement?!
  12. Which is more likely to happen: Z wins 20 Maddux loses 20?
  13. Only the Cubs can get swept by the Nationals, and then turn around and threaten to sweep the Mets
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, your new closer
  15. And "you're with me, leather" doesn't get touched?
  16. Another reason to hate the Yankees and their fans. Their booing of ARod set off a chain of events that led to Harold being fired.
  17. Judging by his comments, Sosa still doesn't get it. BTW, juding by his quotes, he has been practicing his English a lot since he 'retired'....
  18. My favorite was the one posted on one of the Cubs blogs last month: "How many crappy Second Baseman does it take to finish 5th?" I would personally put something more bitter and not funny like: "Hey Trib, do you even care?" But then again, they would just smile and use part of my $40 ticket price to buy themselves something nice.
  19. I must have missed the meaning of that stat. What is FRAA?
  20. I'd rather jab rusty needles directly into my eye. Edit: Unless Z's pitching..... then I'd only rather stick regular needles directly into my eye.
  21. From Chicagosports.com It's too bad that the Cubs are the only team in baseball to not develop players capable of playing 1B. If we would we wouldn't have to play veterans we have no intention of keeping while the team is 20 games under .500
  22. Yup, that's what doomed the Indians of the mid-90's. They should have been trading for guys like Cecil Fielder and Robin Ventura instead of holding onto those bum prospects Manny Ramirez and "Joey" Belle Edit: And man, if only the Braves decided to strike it big with Charles Nagy and David Cone, they wouldn't have been doomed to years of mediocrity with John Smoltz and Tom Glavine.
  23. soriano's putting up a .361 OBP this year. Yeah, but does he walk? 10 more than each of the last 2 full seasons. 43 BBs in 399 ABs. About 70 points difference b/t AVG and OBP. It's amazing how much easier it is to walk when you are hitting HR's left and right and are surrounded by Vidro and Johnson rather then Teixiera and Young
  24. soriano's putting up a .361 OBP this year. I'm referring to last year.
