  1. Roy Williams disagrees. He guaranteed a Lions' victory. http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060911/NEWS99/60911018 Was just running on here to post that
  2. And somehow the Cubs still lose! 1-0 ...an error 3 BB's in the 9th thats how it would go down. I'm sure its obvious but it wouldn't exactly be a perfect game if that were the case.
  3. Early prediction: Bears win 16-7
  4. http://www.chicagobears.com/uploads/photos/perm/main/JJAOAOOOCLIK/urlacher_lions_1.jpg http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper638/stills/7w1kjujk.jpg http://www.augustasports.com/images/headlines/100598/lions_bears.jpg http://info.detnews.com/dn/pix/2005/10/13/sports/s013-vasharintersceptionlions-10_10-13-2005_JG93KCI-2.jpg http://bears.hosttown.com/uploads/av-25662.jpg Not as many as last week, but this needs to continue
  5. No offense but you had the 10 years prior to last. We sat there and listened to people say how the rivalry didn't mean anything anymore because only one side was keeping up their end of it. We listened to all the Packer love from the national media and took it. We watched Chicagoans like Mark R grow up and become Packers fans (in our own territory!). Even if this reversal is only temporary, it was worth the wait.
  6. Baker lies to the media again. Only a few more weeks of this nonsense.
  7. Lovie - 4-1 vs. the Packers, 3-0 at Lambeau it should say 2004 - W at GB, L at Chi 2005 - W at GB, W at Chi 2006 - W at GB
  8. Anyone wish we still had Bobby Wade?
  9. Well Bynum certainly hurt his "New Neifi" candidacy with that quote.
  10. 17-10 Bears Grossman 15-29 187 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT Jones 17 carries 89 yards, 1 TD
  11. A friend of mine spent the summer performing in a theater in Wytheville. She's back home in Fort Worth right now while she awaits her next move. Our very own CT Cub Fan spent a couple of summers just down the road a pace in Fries !! Is he really "our own" anymore when he posts once every other month ;)
  12. ^^ How many of those did the Cubs have a top 5 payroll? Actually it doesn't matter for every year listed except 1981 because FA changed the way baseball teams were built. This is the worst Cub team ever if you measure with that in mind
  13. NO PRONK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! This officially ends my chances of winning my fantasy league
  14. My guess is...the Cubs won't make it to 60 wins, and thus will hit the 100 loss mark. Put that on your resume, Dusty, and see if you get the job you want after this season, DUDE. When put that way, I am almost glad that Dusty was kept around this entire season so that he can suffer this illustrious mark. (ok Im not glad)
  15. I also have no idea why Northwestern was caught off guard when UNH came out with a no huddle offense in the first quarter when every scouting report I've heard about UNH talks about how they like to goto the no huddle
  16. Thats my former college there! Santos (QB) and Ball (WR) could be third team all americans in D1A IMO
  17. Think Hendry can buy low and get Giles in the offseason? His numbers aren't great, but a lot can be attributed to his BABIP from what I read.
  18. You are lucky. Go outside and take advantage of a Cubless night :)
  19. Your shocked that something affiliated with the Cubs is lying to you?
  20. I used to live in Oklahoma, and I know exactly where Fred is! In Sayre, just about anything would be wortheless on a Friday. Meh. On the TV thing, if it isn't on WGN, the Atlanta site shows it's on Turner South. So if your cable system has WTBS, they might have the game. Except that you would have to listen to Chip...... :P  Is there any town that you just don't like in this country Fred?
  21. 2 more days until the first sporting event I've cared about since Game 6 of the Bulls-Heat series....just thought I'd share that in here.
  22. Remember when they said he'd be ready by mid-May?............. Hey at least we got him for the stretch run
  23. I don't think this is true at all. Even the Maris family has said that if Howard hits 62 they acknowledge him as the champ Bonds, Sosa, and McGuire have never failed a test. Now, maybe they used materials/suplements that were legal at the time (Andro), or that were just difficult to test for. However, their testing record is just as clean as Howard's is. What makes everyone so sure that Howard isn't using materials/supplements that are difficult to test for, or that are legal now? The simply answer is we can't be sure. We believe the others are guilty because we want to believe it. We believe Howard is innocent because we want to believe it. The record has no asterisk...apologies to the Maris family. McGwire took the 5th when asked if he took illegal performance enhancing drugs by Congress, which is everything but admitting his guilt and cheating. Bonds testified that he "unknowingly" took illegal performance enhacing drugs to a grand jury, also admitting his guilt and cheating. Sosa's guilt can not be pinpointed so easily. The only arguments you can make for him involve a level of assumption. He is a known cheater (cork) and basically broke down when steroid testing began. I'll give you Sosa (barely), but I refuse to accept McGwire and Bonds' records as legit
  24. I don't think this attendance drop means anything for the trib, and I would go so far as to say they were downright expecting it. If you look at yesterday's game box, it says that yesterdays attendance was the lowest since 2002 when they drew 20,000 in September of that year, when the Cubs were almost as hopeless as they are now. They know that if the Cubs are bad, attendance is going to suffer in April and September. But they also know how many millions of Americans make Wrigley their vacation destination between May and August. They know that no matter what Wrigley is a virtual sell out all of those games played in those months. This does nothing for the Tribune company but affirm that the 2003 NLCS boom is over.
