  1. Look I understand the Cubs are never going to win the World Series or ever appear in it, thats fine, whatever. Just give me a World Series where I don't have to care about who wins. I hate this crap...if I have to look at a mixed crowd of people wearing Cardinals World Series Champions shirts mixed with people wearing White Sox World Series Champions shirts, I might gouge my eyeballs out because I don't want to see it anymore.
  2. the Cards will lose tonight, Carpenter has been mortal in the postseason. I predict a 6-3 Tigers win
  3. All I know is that some of Michigan's nicest wins have come against Penn State. Who can forget Judgement Day 97 :) I am still mad that PSU scored in the 4th to become the first opponent to score in the 4th quarter against Michigan.
  4. Now just keep my fingers crossed that the Eagles keep losing and the Bears-Pats game gets moved to SNF as well. I need more time to tailgate and drink before the game to deal with all the stupid Pats fans :)
  5. Speaking of Vegas, the Bears are a ridiculous 16 1/2 point favorite this weekend. I've never seen a line favoring the bears that high. I remember for the 1994 playoff game against SF, the Bears were 15 point underdogs, so maybe this is payback
  6. People on the Bears message board are saying that the Bears will be wearing their Orange Unis this Sunday.
  7. Not football, but I know a ton of bball fans. I don't think the midwest has strong state college ties to be honest. I know Wisconsin fans in Chicago, Michigan fans in Wisconsin, Ohio State fans in Indiana, etc.
  8. Sorry guys, no game this week: http://www.blucru.org/9erMail.jpg :)
  9. The latest thing is looseness in his shoulder, whatever that means. Its more of a condition than an injury. There is no clear explanation of what the problem is or what the timetable for him is, except for some speculation. I think I heard he was supposed to shut down for 4-6 weeks after the end of the season and then start a program to strengthen his shoulder, but I can't remember where I heard that. That's really messed up. Releasing Prior would be stupid I guess, but what is more dumb, taking the 10% chance of him pitching and throwing 4 million at him, or trading him away. I honestly don't think there is much chance that he will ever be an effective pitcher for the Cubs anymore. His value can and will get much lower, so we might as well as as much as we can for him. Last year it might have gotten us Tejada, this year it might be B level prospects, the year after a PTBNL...
  10. What is Prior even injured with... I've honestly forgot
  11. Wale will play. I think Lovie said that if it was a playoff game, he could have played before the bye. 4 weeks off should be enough to get him back in there
  12. Bengals are in the AFC, but yeah good point
  13. Anyone worried about the division? If they can beat NE next week in the dome, they can breeze to a 13-3 or 12-4 record They have 2 losses right now. I see them losing to NE, Chicago and STL, with possible losses against Arizona and the Jets. So anywhere from 11-5 to 9-7 if you ask me. Don't know why any Bears fans would be worried about the division right now. 2 games up, with a road win over the Vikings. I am a natural pessimist. Remember when the Vikings started out 6-0 a few years ago and then didn't make the playoffs?
  14. Michigan jumps over USC for #2 in the BCS standings by .002 points Michigan .945 USC .943
  15. Geez, I think they watched too much Cubs baseball this summer
  16. Anyone worried about the division? If they can beat NE next week in the dome, they can breeze to a 13-3 or 12-4 record
  17. Geez Leinart is 6-19 today with 2 INTs.
  18. Man, I really don't want the Vikings to win. Honestly a close win at Qwest Field is just as impressive as a blowout at home
  19. Wow, what a difference a year makes. Last years Bears/Niners game was covered only locally by Fox's like 5th announcing crew. Now this year it is their game of the week for FOX
  20. Proof that the Seahawks were supposed to win the Super Bowl last year: The last few years, the team that's lost in the Super Bowl has not made the playoffs the next year. In 2005 it was the Eagles, in 2004 the Panthers, in 2003 the Raiders, and in 2002 the Rams. This year the Steelers have started out 2-4, and will likely need to go 8-2 to have a shot at the playoffs. Just an observation
  21. Today just proves how good the Bears must be to be 6-0. I swear there are like 3 teams so far this year that I've flip flopped on how good they were. The Falcons were awesome, then they were 1 dimensional, now they are good again. The Steelers looked like crap, then they dominated the Chiefs, and now they lost to the falcons. Makes me feel like any week anything can happe
  22. 2-4-1 in the early games if the Falcons hit the FG
  23. That is a damn good question. BTW, Damn you LT, Rivers needs those TDs!!!
  24. Nope, Delhomme INT in the endzone
