  1. He's THE ultimate MLB gamer? Hmm...we'd be stupid not to sign him :)
  2. I don't even count the year that they won 90 games, 1998 as legit either seeing as it took them 163 games to do it. Just think 17 seasons without a 90 win season (in 162 games). Pretty amazing. Last year we were 30 games under .500. The last time a team like the Red Sox was 30 games under .500 in any point in the season? 1963 I believe. This has gotta stop, and I don't think Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis are the answer to that.
  3. I know we've said this many times, but the next GM of the Cubs is going to be doomed in 2009ish

  5. Yay! Put your most promising young hitter into a platoon!
  6. Take it easy on us! We might be 10-1, but its as strong as the Wisconsin footballs record. We lost to the only above average team we played (NC State)
  7. Would you have said the same thing about Indy last year? The playoffs are a crapshoot mostly
  8. How is that even possible?? The Blackhawks were in the playoffs for a bunch of years in a row before that finally ended 7 or 8 years ago. They were definitely a stron gteam in the early 90's. The Bulls obviously were. Were the Bears never above .500 at any moment while the other two were during those years? Weren't they a playoff team in 91? Were they ever any good from 90-93?? I have no proof, but that just seems like it can't be right (aside from the fact that the Hawks aren't really above .500 right now). It was 1995
  9. I knew my jinx would work! ;)
  10. Bulls can't beat winning teams. They haven't all year and they don't appear to be winning it tonight
  11. Drogba's goal was ridiculous, as well as heartbreaking for my Everton squad.
  12. I fully expect Hendry to start a bidding war to bring him back where he belongs. Do we have anyone who can be a backup at all nine positions? I think not. I'm waiting for the 3/$16m offer any day now.
  13. if you listened to what ESPN says The Eagles are going to the super bowl because Jeff Garcia is OMG WTF awesome. ESPN has taken the same position they did with Tony Romo, on its knees right in front of him Eventhough New Orleans lost and the bears won, New Orleans only hit a bump in the road while the bears are terrible right now The bears only have a "decent" defense because they have had poor outings the past 2 games. Hey sean salisbury, dont tell the everyone that we had a pro bowl CB and 1 of our safteys out. The colts that they left for dead last week will destroy any team out there. I didn't hear much of that, but ok. He may have exaggerated some, but I've heard those kind of sentiments from ESPN. Mike and Mike in the morning said that the eagles are the favorite everything else was from last nights NFL tonight, they didnt use terrible with the bears, they used, you can gash them and on and on i exaggerated on the colts a bit but its coming, just watch You can gash their defense all the sudden? hahaha makes me laugh. We'll see what they are saying when we get Vasher and Todd Johnson back
  14. sports bars take care of this problem. I have yet to find a good bar with Sunday Ticket in NH. That and the fact that I'd feel guilty ditching my family on XMas eve to go drinking and watch football ;) Bring them with. no doubt, i can't imagine a better way to celebrate xmas with the family! The bouncer or the bar could probably think of a better way to celebrate when he refuses to let in my 8 year old brother and 15 year old sister :) well now you're just looking for excuses...seems to me that you don't even want to watch the game, haha. Well geez, even the extreme awesomeness of the Bears is not worth watching the Lions play Nah, what am I talking about, it totally is.

  16. Umm... what happened to the 13-3 record from 2001? Did that just disappear into the ether? I saw that too. I guess that year really was a fluke since they stopped using it in record keeping

  18. Drats for going home this weekend. I don't think there's much chance that New Hampshire picks up the Bears/Lions tilt.
  19. I seriously just got a cold shiver when I read that. Oh my god he is so awful. He's worse then awful. I don't really have words to describe it. I like Collinsworth though (assuming you were talking about Gumbel)
  20. Agreed. The Saints will be the only real NFC competition, and I'm not convinced that they'll be as tough as they've looked at some points. I'm not the slightest bit concerned about the Saints or the Seahawks in the NFC. The Giants, maybe a little. The Falcons, if they can make it, not at all. Good Rex can have a field day with the Cowboys' safeties, but Dallas's defense is fairly average all-around, which is a concern if the Bears can't get to Romo. TBH, the team I would be most concerned about playing would be Philly, and not just because they are the flavor of the week. They're the only NFC playoff team besides the Bears with a good defense, and if the offense can click with Jeff freaking Garcia helming them, they must be doing something right. Plus, they have a pretty balanced offensive attack. And, maybe I'm still a little bit paranoid from 2001. So, I guess if I were to rank teams in order of who I'd least like to see the Bears play in the NFC playoffs: 1. Eagles 2. Cowboys 3. Giants 4. Saints 5. Seahawks 6. Falcons 7. Anybody else who might make a run, like the Packers/Vikings/Niners/Rams/Panthers So, in my eyes, best case scenario for the Bears is for the Falcons to sneak into the playoffs, upset the 3 seed NFC East winner, and have the Seahawks win the other first round game, so it'd be down to the Bears-Falcons-Saints-Seahawks. The only team I'm worried about are the Cowboys and it's no easy task to come to Soldier Field and win unless you have Steve Smith on your team. Our defense is starting to concern me though. Or Jason Taylor
  21. It's like he looked at the final score, or just watched the overtime period. The only real break the Bears got was the lack of a replay on Davis' catch. Everything else went against them. The biggest problem yesterday was a total lack of focus on defense after getting a huge lead. Normally I don't get too involved in caring about how people rate us, but HOW CAN YOU RATE SOMEONE WITH A RECORD THATS THREE GAMES WORSE ABOVE US?!?!?!?!?! Peter King we had 4 freaking defensive starters out including 3 Pro Bowlers, you ignorant man. I just sent this email to him:

  23. From The Last Call on ESPN.com So why would Lovie go out of his way to state the Tank is still a member of the Bears yesterday?
