  1. The 2001 Yankees disagree with you.
  2. OK Cubs... Go 3-0 or 3-1, you move on. Go 2-2, or 1-2 or 0-2, you go home.
  3. How do you know that your game threads would have inspired the Cubs to victory like mine did?
  4. I don't want to 'give him time'. I mean patience yes within reason, but I'm pretty sure we don't own Prior beyond next season, meaning that we need to see what we have with him before we lose him.
  5. What about teams that give up HRs to Mark Reynolds and Stephen Drew in the same game? I still can't believe that happened. It's always the Mark Reynolds of the world that seem to kill us. Whats wrong with Mark Reynolds? His AB/HR is just slightly worse than ARAM. The kid can rake. He had 31 HRs in the minors last year. Yeah, I think some people view these players as if they are other team's crappy castoffs. With the exception of an Augie Ojeda, most of these players were top prospects adjusting to the big league game. Not many people realize that a lot of these players got better as the year went on. Stephen Drew would have been a number 1 pick if he didn't have Boras as his agent, Reynolds had good power numbers in the minors, etc.
  6. Anyone else think that the DS should be a best of 7. I think best of 5's are way too much pressure and don't put the best team in a position to win. You lose game 1 and all the sudden your guys are pressing because they can feel the pressure. I guess to some people that is fun and part of the playoff experience, but I personally don't like it.
  7. Gosh, maybe we should just lose our series to save us from the embarrassment of getting stomped by the Rockies in the next round. Of course I'm kidding but wow
  8. Well... he did have a key walk that moved a runner over to third for Theriot's IF RBI single. He was 0-1 in SB attempts, but who knows how many times the DBacks would have went for a SB with Kendall behind the plate.
  9. Optimism (actually realism) from UMFan... What the hell is going on? But yea... I like our matchups, except a potential Webb and Z on 3 days rest on Sunday... Normally I'd be pessimistic after last night, and I started to be...but I said before the series started that we would lose game 1 and win the next 3, and I'm sticking to it. Also one thing to note is that Webb has never gone on short rest in his career. Actually, I'd prefer him to go on Sunday. If he beats the Cubs, then game 5 would be Lilly vs. Owings.
  10. Cubs in 4. No disrespect to the DBacks, I think they are a good team and deserve to be here, but I just like the Cubs matchups in the next 3 games too much.
  11. I can't believe I have 250 windows and havent gotten in once in an hour
  12. I kinda just want to get in to prove that I can get in at this point...
  13. I still couldn't get through, but Mark_R is the man. He got me tickets to the third game
  14. Same...but for me this is karma for being so lucky for NLDS
  15. Enjoy the NLCS
  16. This is the first time in 3 years that tickets.com has failed me...ugh
  17. over 200 windows open cant get through...someone tell me if they get in and can get 2 for me to any game.
  18. 12x20 now for me. Can't do any more...
  19. I got 120 tabs open....my computer can't handle it at work as well as it can at home
  20. You can't say that we wouldn't have won it either way if we kept Zambrano in. Perhaps if Z throws 2 more shutout innings, our hitters approaches at the plate change. Perhaps different relievers are put in. But overall you are right, the hitting was poor all night (albeit to great pitchers). Nothing to lose sleep over though...we have the upperhand in matchups the next 3 games. Just win today and all the sudden it is a best of 3.
  21. That is because it seemed like Webb would groove strike one over the plate to any bad hitters in our lineup. Guess he didn't read the scouting report on Z that he is very very aggressive.
  22. We are clinching on Sunday at Wrigley. I refuse to look at it any other way until it is impossible to do so.
  23. I agree that their lineup is garbage, but that garbage lineup, in 163 games, has 6 more wins and 22 more HRs than our much better lineup. EDIT - Also, when do we decide it's time to shuffle the rotation? I understand it was a late game and all last night, but still. Their lineup scored 40 less runs than us all year and is missing 2 of its players (Chad Tracy and Orlando Hudson)
  24. Yes, he was on, but not his best. He had bouts of wildness and his sinker was starting to get up around the 5th inning. If we are going to advance, we better learn to hit good pitchers. The numbers from our big 3 were sick last night. I just don't think the Cubs and Webb are a good matchup. His sinker really gives us fits. Not that we hit a ton of good pitchers, but we have hit pitchers like Roy Oswalt much better than Webb.
