  1. Biggio sacrifices Anderson to third, 1 out Berkman up
  2. He does that every single time he makes a catch He jumped pretty high this time
  3. Anderson doubles to left for the Astros with 0 outs
  4. Z has a 3.26 ERA on the road and a 5.18 ERA at home
  5. Oh I think he's got the stuff, but no command. Well to me thats part of having good stuff 2-0
  6. 6 straight balls by Z
  7. Fielder K's, Brewers don't score in the first.
  8. This isn't good. Z doesn't look like he has his good stuff tonight.
  9. And we're losing again. Didn't take long
  10. Braun strikes out. 2 down for Prince Fielder
  11. Dillon on second for the Brewers with 1 out
  12. Well so far the 3 day rest thing isn't working out well
  13. Bad start, 9 pitches and an IF hit. Blah
  14. Are you trying to test the Cubs?
  15. I admit to heavily campaigning for JD Drew, Jason Schmidt and (last resort) Barry Zito to be signed to the 2007 Cubs. Instead of JD Drew the Cubs signed Cliff Floyd. Neither have been very effective, but at least Cliffy is only signed for potentially another year. Instead of Jason Schmidt or Barry Zito, the Cubs signed Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis. Ted Lilly has been a pretty good addition and while I still hate Jason Marquis contract a lot, its better then getting absolutely nothing from Jason Schmidt and a mediocre season from Zito, who were both signed for longer and at more money. However, in 2005, I did campaign to sign Magglio Ordonez. We got Jeromy Burnitz instead.
  16. Well time to help your worries Chris Young Splits: Home - 4-2 1.47 ERA 0.95 WHIP in 12 starts Away - 5-5 4.11 ERA 1.17 WHIP in 15 starts ERAs by month: April - 4.33 May - 1.13 June - 1.52 July - 0.41 August - 5.48 September - 6.19 Dave Bush has been terrible lately. After struggling in July and August, the Brewers rotation save Bush has been great. Sheets has been good post-injury besides his last start, Gallardo had a period of ineffectiveness after teams got a book on him, but hes figured it out and has 21 straight scoreless innings currently. Suppan has stepped up and become a reliable middle of the rotation pitcher finally. And replacing Vargas with Villenueva has really helped stabilize the rotation.
  17. I don't know if this info is accurate, but this is what I found after a brief google search: http://www.petcoparkinsider.com/2007-mlb-postseason-schedule-nl-playoffs The Cubs will not have homefield advantage unless one of the teams really swoons, so potential game 3's according to this would be on Saturday Oct 6th. Game 4's would be Sunday Oct 7th.
  18. He was BA's number 7 prospect (just below Hunter Pence) for the Astros in 2005
  19. Oh gosh, I am getting nervous now....gotta get my plan in motion http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/09/cubs-playoff-ti.html Thank God for the VWR, I am pretty confident I will get tickets to at least 1 game. I am going to be greedy and go for game 1.
  20. This will be Paulino's first major league start as his other innings have come out of the pen.
  21. I think we are at a disadvantage today with Z going on 3 days rest (ask Jake Peavy a couple weeks back how that goes) against Harrang today. I also think we are neutral with Z vs. Gorzelanney (tough lefty).
  22. Thanks, I edited it to reflect that. Kinda sucks that Z is almost neutralized in his last 3 starts by Harrang (twice) and Gorzelanney. Looking at the pitching matchups, I think the best case scenario is going 8-3 and the worst case is going 5-6
  23. I know there have been some threads similar to this topic, but I want to make one thread to put official matchups the rest of the year. Everything until Monday is listed on ESPN's pitching probables page. Everything after is my speculation. If you learn of an update, please reply and I'll change it. Note that I am about 90% sure that the Cubs and Brewers rotations are correct, the opponents might have some changes. CUBS Thursday off Friday Jason Marquis vs. Paul Maholm Saturday Rich Hill vs. Zach Duke Sunday Carlos Zambrano vs. Tom Gorzelanney Monday off Tuesday Ted Lilly vs. Doug Barone FROM HERE ON IS SPECULATION Wednesday Jason Marquis vs. Dontrelle Willis Thursday TBD (Marshall/Trachsel/Hart?) vs. Scott Olsen Friday Carlos Zambrano vs. Aaron Harrang Saturday Rich Hill vs. Tom Shearn Sunday Ted Lilly vs. Matt Belisle Potential one-game playoff vs. Brewers (Monday) Jason Marquis vs. TBD (Gallardo on 3 days or Villenueva) BREWERS Thursday Jeff Suppan vs. Jeff Bennett Friday Carlos Villanueva vs. Tim Hudson Saturday Yovani Gallardo vs. John Smoltz Sunday TBD (Claudio Vargas/Ben Sheets/Chris Capuano) vs. Jo-Jo Reyes Monday Dave Bush vs. Todd Wellemeyer Tuesday Jeff Suppan vs. Adam Wainwright (according to ESPN) FROM HERE ON IS SPECULATION Wednesday Carlos Villanueva vs. Braden Looper Thursday Yovani Gallardo vs. Jack Cassel Friday TBD (Claudio Vargas/Ben Sheets/Chris Capuano) vs. Greg Maddux Saturday Dave Bush vs. Chris Young Sunday Jeff Suppan vs. Jake Peavy (Brett Tomko will likely pitch if a playoff spot has been clinched)
  24. Guys don't worry about the protest, earlier this year an umpire added a run to a Indians-Orioles game 3 innings after the run had been scored. That protest had a lot of backing and it wasn't overturned. There is no way this will be overturned.
