  1. After this season, the only interleague matchup we will have not had is vs. Boston in Fenway. We will have played every other team in baseball at home and at their place. When did the Cubs play in Kansas City? I believe all the interleague series before 2002 were between the respective East, Central and West divisions so I'm sure it was sometime in that period. 1998 we went 1-2 in KC 2000 we went 2-1 in KC
  2. Looks like the Diamondbacks learned something from Cubs fans last week
  3. After this season, the only interleague matchup we will have not had is vs. Boston in Fenway. We will have played every other team in baseball at home and at their place. So... uh... Cubs @ Fenway in 2011? Also, LOL @ the Cubs never getting a win in Yankee stadium. 0-7 all time at the place that Ruth built
  4. If ARam would remove his NTC to play in LA, he would have just signed there last season.

  6. Must have just released it. I just checked yesterday Wow, tough way to end the year. If St. Louis and Milwaukee are any good that is a killer last 19 games. @ STL @ HOU vs. MIL vs. STL @ NYM @ MIL
  7. I've heard multiple news outlets report somewhere between 10000 and 12000 tickets remaining for the two games. And even if it is only 3000 or 4000, it's still pathetic that they haven't sold out already. Tons of media outlets have been completely wrong. I was listening to the sports radio here when they had Josh Byrnes come on and laugh at the fact that some were saying 12,000 were left. If they don't sell out, I don't think many are going to lose sleep, unless you're going to keep on going on about how pathetic it is and how others are saying that they don't deserve to be here cause of the fans and the Cubs do because their fans are better.. edit:not trying to be a prick, just think this is blown way out of proportion. IF you've followed baseball, especially the playoffs through the years, it's known the dbacks don't do good with selling tix unless playing a team with a big fan base. Right, and the thing that people are discussing is how pathetic that is that they can't sell out an NLCS game. That raises a larger problem about the long term commitment to the DBacks.
  8. Wow...by far my worst finishing in any contest. I guess pessimism doesnt pay off!
  9. Only 1 brief visit to Colorado next season on April 23-24
  10. Thanks for pointing that out...I made a mistake. In Atlanta from Sept 12-14, not August Also Tampa Bay changed their schedule. The Cubs will be in Tampa June 17-19
  11. The team plays, not the crowd. Why do you think the team plays? For the entertainment of the fans.
  12. I've always wondered what I would do if I went to a baseball game between two teams that I didn't care about. In this case, I would probably go and just pretend that it's the world series. living in dc and detroit the last 8 years, i've done this frequently. i tend to drink a lot. Yeah I drink and make comments loud enough for people to hear about how terrible D-Backs fans are. Unfortunately they are as terrible as I say and thusly don't really care. Who cares if they suck? We were 50-31 at home with our mediocre crowds, sellouts don't = wins, so criticizing the fact we can barely sell out is pointless.Hey what's up mr. drawing bad conclusions... I said nothing of the quality of the team or the team's home play. I merely pointed out something that you seem to already know which I happen to enjoy doing when I'm at a game I don't care about. Really isn't a DBacks city/state anyways, sell outs happen across the street at US Airways with the Suns, which is better for me since I have a stronger passion for them.DBacks have been around for only 10 years, to expect big crowds is pretty dumb..gotta give them 10 more years and if it's still pathetic, then you really know they suck Oh I agree. The Suns have a fantastic fan base, as do the other established teams like ASU Football and Baseball. The Cardinals fan base is impressive considering how pathetic the organization is. D-Backs base will grow 10-20 years from now when all the little kids with Gonzo jerseys are adults and can spend a little more cash. I also think the fans who left the D'Backs cause of letting Gonzo and Counsell walk need to grow a pair and know the situation. We have 4 big prospect OF'ers and then Byrnes for another 3 years now(<--dumbest extension..EVER) When would Gonz-oid ever play? He's washed up, old, and if you follow this team die hard, a prick. And Counsell..the guy sucks, he got a few big hits for us in '01..but Counsell over Drew? Casual fans are dumb. I've never been to an ASU football game in Tempe, other then down in Tucson when they played the Wildcats( :D ), but I do know they have a lot of fans here in the Phoenix metropolitan I appreciate you coming back to the website after the series, and I welcome any and all comments that you may have to add to our discussions....but can you like give it another week or so before you post? It seems like almost yesterday you were here defending yourself and your team as to why the DBacks won't get swept. Ahh those were times with such optimism. Now we are talking about picking up Steve Trachsel options and which mediocre, no patience MI to pick up in the offseason. Actually on second thought, stay and post all you want about your ballclub. I need something to take my mind off our team.
  13. Thanks a bunch. Will update now.
  14. Zambrano (eat 50% of salary), Prior, Marmol, Pie...are we getting somewhere?
  15. How do you figure? Other pitchers have had similar surgeries to Prior and came back to regain form. I forgot the prime example...wasn't it Chris Carpenter? I'm not saying to expect ANYTHING from Prior. He could easily never regain form. But to completely dismiss him as a middle reliever I think is a bad idea.
  16. Approximately 140 days give or take 2-3
  17. I hated the Soriano signing from day 1, but if the Cubs weren't going to sign Soriano, they were going to throw their money elsewhere. Where would you have wanted them to throw it? Zito? Schmidt? Drew? The only player I'd argue is Carlos Lee. There was no way that Hendry was going to wait the season out and try to sign ARod this offseason...mostly because he wouldn't be around to sign ARod.
  18. There is talk that they will not resign him. I say no on a 39 year old relief pitcher that will command more than market value because of his name
  19. Found the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay tentative schedules. Tampa Bay's schedule lists 6 straight days to play the Cubs, so I am assuming that there is an error and we will only play 3 of those days. We will also be visiting Toronto. Check the first page for dates
  20. Red Sox up 2-0. I want to see the Red Sox and Indians win today because I will feel better if all losing teams got swept in the first round
  21. I get what you mean by this, but honestly with the money these guys make they would have bought those tickets and just tossed them had they won, without even batting an eye. That and they probably had someone else in charge of that for them anyways. Yup that's true. He is probably also pissed that the Cubs players booked town at the first chance they got while we have to sit here and wallow in the patheticness of the Cubs
  22. I just called tickets.com and they said that while it says what it says on the Cubs website, they haven't heard official confirmation from the Cubs as to how they are going to refund the 'print at home' tickets. They said sometimes, teams will just refund the credit card. They told me to call back Monday or Tuesday if we don't hear any offical pronoucement
  23. Jim Hendry might attempt to trade himself Marmol, Hart and Pie for him until he realizes that Pie is a player and not a dessert OMG A HENDRY FAT JOKE!!!!!
  24. We all have the theory that the Cubs are not going to be spending much if any money in the offseason. And we all know with the backloaded contracts the Cubs have, their payroll is going to go up about $20 million even if they did nothing. So the question I have is, is this theory correct? Is there any realistic way to imagine the Cubs going out and spending yet again to get the pieces they need to get better? Are there examples of ownership changes in the past that both the new owners and the old owners had an agreement to spend X amount of dollars to build the team while ownership was in the process of changing hands? I am just curious because I think that people are being unrealistic if they are talking someone like ARod. I think a role player or two (possibly a fill in if Pie doesn't pan out) is all we can really expect without making a trade, but I wanted to see if there was any precident for this.
