  1. Why would he sign a 4 year deal if his intention was to retire halfway through?
  2. Teams that he would be the best or pretty much as good as their number one starter? Washington (best) Agree Florida (best) Agree Kansas City (best) Agree St. Louis (best) Wainwright Texas (best) Agree Mets (best, assuming Pedro isn't healthy) Very debatable Baltimore (whether Bedard is there or not, they're pretty comparable) Bedard is much better than Lilly San Francisco (We don't really know what to expect from Lincecum right now. He's on the same level as Cain at the moment) No no no no no. Are we talking about Lilly?? Better than Lincecum and Cain?? Pittsburgh (As good as Snell) Disagree Oakland (depending on the health of Harden) Like you said depending. And of course The Cubs. He was probably our best pitcher last year. Now I'd love to hear you tell me the teams he would be the 4th best starter on, since I believe it was you that called him a #4 starter. Seriously, Ted Lilly? He was great last year I agree. But c'mon, 4.46 ERA and 1.33 Career WHIP. You really think he put it together finally at age 31 in his 9th season? Er. That as supposed to be about Hill. Oh haha. Well my comments in quotes still stand. I cannot agree that Rich Hill is better than Cain, Lincecum, Wainwright, Snell, etc. Only one of those 5 had a better ERA+ last season than Hill (Cain, by 3; Wainwright did have the same ERA+). Hill also had the best K/BB of them all. Wainwright really came on at midseason and finished strong I believe. I think he easily can be an ace

  5. BTW, I read this on Orioles Hangout, but it was posted by 2 different users who started 2 different threads. I did not hear the report myself.
  6. Bruce Levine just reported on ESPN 1000 that Roberts trade talks are off and that the Cubs have 0% chance of acquiring Roberts. He said the Cubs are looking to acquire Marlon Byrd from the Rangers to platoon with Pie in CF. He also said the Cubs are really trying to sign Jon Leiber.
  7. I knew it was a good idea to save this the other day: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/5971/ohzc0.jpg I wish I could resize it and fit it on my sig without it being too big.
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CHAD FOX? At least Dusty isn't around to throw him 2 days in a row.
  9. The character issues, I assume? Hurting DLee (although I blame Eyre just as much for his girly throw), spurning the Cubs as a FA a few years ago, failing to single handedly beat the Astros in the NLDS in 2005, which allowed them to go to the World Series and then play dead for the White Sox, and his numerous drunken driving arrests. He probably screwed up a fantasy team or two of mine also.
  10. I would bring rocks to the games to throw at Furcal if we traded for him.
  11. Have fun visiting the Rock and Roll HOF 1201024 times a year because that's all there is to do in Cleveland BRob
  12. I told you that you shouldn't have signed up for the ISP who was offering "pay per page refresh" rates.
  13. It would make sense. He probably thought they could get more if they were shopping BRob to other teams.
  14. Great I'm sure we'll either be outbid or Hendry will randomly give up the farm to get him. I disagree, there is no way that Hendry trades Pie, Marmol, Hill or the like for Roberts. I'm more afraid that he will attempt to sign an Eckstein or trade for an inferior 2B. Has it been reported what Hendry's obsession with finding a replacement for DeRosa is? For the life of me I don't understand why he is attempting to replace one of the more productive players on the team. He should be focusing his trade efforts on a top of the rotation starter. Don't know what his obsession is, but Eckstein already signed with Toronto
  15. Someone on OH mentioned that Rosenthal was on Comcast Sports Baltimore last night and had the following to say Great I'm sure we'll either be outbid or Hendry will randomly give up the farm to get him.
  16. I HATE HATE HATE THIS THREAD!!! AGGHHHH!!!! I've considered BRob part of the team for so long that I honestly will feel empty if we do not get him. Hendry has to do something else this offseason doesn't he? Other than trading Jones, acquiring Ascanio, and signing Fukudome, its been pretty much nothing for the Cubs. Not to say that getting Fukudome does nothing, but I expected at least a few smaller moves.
  17. We're already well past it. Check the Soriano thread in this board format. It's 91 pages and 2270 posts long. This thread is 100 pages and 2490 posts long. I still can't believe he got 8 freaking years. Unbelievable. You agree?
  18. That would be pretty awesome if they could somehow find a place to put temorary stands to fit 20,000 people :)
  19. Who is going to be the one to send this to page 100??
  20. I'm sure they could find a way to comfort themselves over the loss of a few blades of grass with the money they would be getting as part of the deal. Probably not considering the money they already committed to completely resodding the field.
  21. For the record, I feel like having an outdoor hockey game at Wrigley would be a horrible idea. But it would be cool to go into the ballpark in the dead of winter.
  22. Same reason Ichiro was able to win ROY in 2001, he hasn't accumulated any MLB service time.
  23. I'd prefer to keep it here. I'm in no way disrespecting what they do over there, either. That's certainly reasonable. Unfortunately, someone has already referred them over to this site.
