  1. I LOVE GERALD PERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERRY >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SARGE
  2. Hopefully only one more trip through the Reyes/Wright/Beltran part of the order tonight.
  3. Z has no hit stuff tonight even though hes not no hitting them obviously.
  4. Guess that play didn't have any long term hurt for the Cubs as the run would have scored anyways
  5. Jose Reyes had a horrible approach that AB. Soriano like.... 2-1
  6. Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson, Carl Pavano, Johnny Damon vs. Neifi Perez, Glendon Rusch, Jason Marquis, Jacque Jones hmmm....
  7. This is the deal, I have a crapload of surplus in OF. I need SP. Should I trade for Verlander? My OF now is: Berkman Vlad Corey Hart Burrell Hamilton Dye Hall My SP is: Hamels Bedard Cueto Marcum Jered Weaver
  8. I think you're mistaken. I watched it myself. It was abbreviated, but it was on.
  9. I'm really excited for tonight. I love Cubs baseball all the time, but when you're playing the Reds and Pirates and you're up 8-0 by the third inning, the rest of the game tends to be very dull.
  10. That 11 pitch at bat that started with an 0-2 count was a thing of beauty. I was really impressed with that AB in particular.
  11. I want to treat 2004 the way Germany treats the 30's/40's. "NOTHING HAPPENED! WE WERE ON VACATION!" Family Guy reference aside, I can't believe that group of players didn't dominate the league. Sosa, Alou, Lee, Nomar, Ramirez, Barrett, Walker, Prior, Wood, Zambrano, Clement, Maddux. How does that happen? Dusty. 'nuff said. Low OBP, lack of plate discipline. Funny thing is Sosa, Lee, Nomar and Walker were all above average OBP guys in their hayday. Dusty just didn't want that.
  12. I would have been so pissed off if the Cubs lost the division last year because they insisted on keeping Soto in AAA.
  13. Everyone chill out, I can't take all this optimism! But seriously, they have a long way to go to be considered the dominant team in the NL. They are playing like it right now though.
  14. Lets just hope the Cubs can adjust when they play a team that can attack the strike zone with consistancy.
  15. Good to see you starting threads and in general posting with a little more regularity again Jon. I agree, wth is Lou doing?
  16. Geez. Pirates 0-4 against the Cubs and 7-5 against everyone else!
  17. Here comes those late inning runs Jake was talking about.
  18. Based on my memory of only Theriot, Soriano, Fontenot and Patterson hitting leadoff, the Cubs are 13-71(.183) from the leadoff spot this year.
  19. So umm who is going to eat innings for us when the Pirates inevitably tie this up and we go 22 innings?
  20. He'll be fine. He's still hitting for power, and with a couple of 3-5 games, he'll be back into the .270's range.
  21. It's just too bad we don't have a leadoff guy to get on at a .350 clip, steal bases 71% of the time he attempts them, and play perfect "small ball" Oh whoops, I'm not in the White Sox thread anymore.
