    Thread title is dumb. We can win with Marquis in the rotation, and he won't come near a baseball in the playoffs. So if we fail, it won't be because of him.

    Theres only one 10:40 start against the Dodgers, and its on Friday. Th - 10:10 EST F - 10:40 EST Sa - 3:55 EST Su - 8:05 EST And then back to Wrigley and normal start times

    This will be a tough game. As stated above, Maddux is tough at Petco. Probably because its tough to take an 84 MPH fastball through the marine layer and out of the park. The Cubs offense has been hitting so well though I think we'll score a few off him. It will be up to Lilly to stifle the Padres and go at least 7. Funny note: Through 2 games this series, the Padres have scored 12 runs. When the Padres came to Wrigley last month, the offense scored only 12 runs in a 4 game series. More funny notes: If we win today, we will sweep 4 of the 5 NL West teams this year. The only team we haven't swept is San Francisco, who we haven't played yet. Right now the Cubs are 25-5 against the West and the Pirates and 13-16 against everyone else.

    I'm sorry, I'm not usually one of those guys who picks apart every move a manager makes....but Lou has been awful this series. I can't believe some of the moves he is making.

    So it looks like 6 weeks of sparse playing time has affected Cedeno's ability to play well.

    I don't know if anyone noticed, but apparently Pujols left the game tonight after being HBP. This is a second hand story from my (Cardinals fan) roommate, so I don't know where he was hit or if it was precautionary.

    Man Marquis really enjoys pitching to the heart of the order doesn't he? Once he sniffs Giles or Gonzalez, he just throws balls until he gets to them.

    I would rather have 7 Todd Hundleys, 6 Jim Edmonds' and 12 Mel Rojas' on my team that 1 Jason Marquis among an otherwise solid team.
