  1. He has a changeup and a slider, the latter he hasn't used much yet.
  2. This guy looks really good. Tons of movement on his pitches.
  3. I think Dempster is going to be a solid starter all year long, but occasionally he is going to be hit hard when his control isn't there, and that of course is his biggest issue.
  4. This is so bad. It shows how backward this organization is. This move would have: -Energized the fan base who had to sit through a dreadful season of watching the players basically give up on the team. -Energize the players, who were said to be salivating at the opportunity to work with D'Antoni -Given the Bulls a coach that could maximize the abilities (at least offensively) of the team, a team who has what is said to be "the perfect fit" for his system -Given notice to the league that the Bulls want to win now. Not in 5-10 years. Now -Given Paxson the leeway to not have to necessarily go for a roster overhaul. Instead, the players are pissed, the fans are pissed, and the roster needs a lot of work, if this team even thinks about contending the next couple of seasons. Great work JR.
  5. I don't know I remember us killing Dontrelle Willis the first couple times we faced him. We also killed Cole Hammels the first time we faced him. I am not sure if those two constitute "rookie sensations" but..
  6. The last time the Cub won a series vs. Arizona is 2003. That said, last year we won the opening game in both series (sans playoffs) and lost the last two.
  7. Dammit. Oh well I'm not that upset. Plus its May
  8. Because we own? Wow your return here might be short with more comments like that. Don't see anything wrong with it. We sucked bad today, wow. GG. Wouldn't be surprised if we got swept now. :( Most people, and I know I'm guilty of it as well, are sensitive of fans from other teams coming on here and bragging about how good their teams are.
  9. I'd say your in the vast minority. I like it. Come on. The song REALLY is terrible. I like it because of what I associate with it and it's cool hearing the entire crowd sing it, but the song is incredibly cheesy and bad. That's exactly why its awesome.
  10. I am going to be crazy to say this, but I still think of the Brewers as bigger threats than St. Louis. My best outcome would be the Cardinals to take 2 of 3. I didn't say cheering. This is the Cardinals, though, the same team we keep waiting to fall off and never does. They did last year. Yeah in late September.
  11. I agree, and I've been meaning to look up that stat. I still however think they are a legit team, or at least were before Gallardo. All I know is that they have been building this team for 6-7 years in preparation to compete now. I wouldn't be surprised if they are very active in the trade market this summer. They still have prospects that they can trade.
  12. Someone said he hit 89 on the gun. I guess thats good. Velocity is not everything but when you don't have control its a big problem. I don't think he'll be as good as last year ( i never thought he would), but I'd say you'd see more of this than what you saw his first few starts.

  14. Ok, he didn't hit anyone with the first pitch, that's a good sign.
  15. Even though the heart of their lineup is up, if Woody blows this lead, you have to start considering other options.
  16. Fuku is 1 for his last 15, and has just 1 walk in his last 11 games (43 PA)
  17. That is one heinous lineup we ran out there. Wow. Soriano Theriot Fontenot Ramirez Jones Pagan Moore Kendall I remember watching that game but I don't remember having a lineup that nightmarish. That was when the Cubs were on fire too. It was the game that turned Jacques season around.
  18. That is one heinous lineup we ran out there. I remember Lou describing it as his "contact lineup" at the time
  19. Maybe the game will turn out like this one...the last time I expected this pathetic of a performance offensively: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200707200.shtml
  20. The Cubs aren't very good offensively right now.
  21. I'd say its about an 11% chance. This is his BA (.180) minus the number of IF hits or weakly hit balls that end up as singles that won't score DeRo.
