  1. Winning with running and defense/takeaways while being concerned about the QB. We know no other way of being good in those rare times we are.
  2. Caleb does especially well against the blitz and in 2 minute drills. Is it because he doesn’t have to think about timing and progressions and just plays on instinct?
  3. Just when I thought we’d reached a level of comfort with Caleb he looks like rookie Caleb again
  4. The Bears are in the middle of a 49 day stretch with just one home game, today's. Pretty wild how they always condense a big chunk of the Bears home games at the end of the season it seems like. This year 3/8ths of our home games will be played in the final 4 games of the season.
  5. Wild that we haven’t played at home in 3 weeks but 3 of our next 5 our still on the road. I get it one week was a bye, and we play 1 less home game this year but it feels like we’re never home. Hopefully having more road games towards the end of the season is helpful for us because we’re fighting for a playoff spot.
  6. Seemed like Nico was being dangled quite a bit last offseason which I never understood but hopefully his 6 WAR season and reliable bat when everyone else was struggling has cemented him at 2B next year.
  7. Why are people suggesting Happ being traded? He has repeatedly shown zero desire to leave Chicago and has a NTC. Sure the Cubs could strong arm him and say 'we want you gone' but I doubt they would do that and there's still a decent chance Happ says 'well too bad' anyways.
  8. Yeah and for me it's fine to admit that temporarily they are more of a target because they've been successful in recent years and the Cubs haven't. But all things equal I'd "root" (root is relative) for the Brewers over the Cardinals in a playoff series without question.
  9. 1. Wait why didn't Nico play in the 2020 playoffs? Was he hurt? 2. That's wild since Ryno only played in 10 playoff games.
  10. Agree to disagree. Not sure how old you are but the Cardinals basically completely dominated this division for 20 years and seemed like an impossible juggernaut that kept winning regardless of who was on the roster (actually kind of sounds like the Brewers now). Beating them in the 2015 NLDS was so cathartic in a way that beating the Brewers could never be to me. Non-Cubs fans actually respect the Cubs-Cardinals rivalry as one of the big 3 rivalries in baseball and I'd like to keep it that way. Plus it's fun to annoy the Brewers that we are their everything and its not fully reciprocated. But, hate who you want to hate. For me personally the Brewers are not even close to the Cardinals in hatred.
  11. It was in the first 2 games, with Horton likely pitching in one of those games, and Boyd not having to go on short rest.
  12. And yet that's been the case in so many losses in the second half. Just a complete no show from the offense. Look we went 4-4 in the playoffs, a couple runs from an NLCS appearance, obviously we were a pretty good team. But the fact that the 1st half offense disappeared and never quite showed up again was such a disappointment and confusing to me.
  13. Nah the Cardinals are our historical rivals. The Brewers might be temporarily more annoying but they are our Yankees-Red Sox
  14. The best part about the Cubs losing is it makes Michigans blowout loss to USC the second most disappointing sports result of the night
  15. Well at least we have a series playoff win over our most hated rivals in St Louis Milwaukee sports completely owns Chicago sports though.
  16. And that’s the last well likely see of Tucker in a Cubs uniform
  17. horsefeathers it PH for Shaw. Defense is more important when winning not down to the last 6 outs
  18. At least we got another PCA 5 star catch before the season ends
  19. No but he had a lefty warmed up, a pretty full bullpen of high leverage guys and an opportunity to significantly weaken the bat of a guy who hit 30 HRs this year in a 1 run game.
