  1. It's worth having him on the roster unless you want to call Mervis up, but yeah I think I'm perfectly fine with the limited playing time he's gotten. Doesn't change how I feel about him long term, he just doesn't look ready for big league pitching, even of the Pirates variety.
  2. Actually now that I think about it the Cubs might be like the 98 Mets. In complete control and then just loses most of their games down the stretch.
  3. He had the same AB he's been having in all key situations lately. Swing at the first 2 pitches, one of them fouled off very hard, then its a matter of how many balls he takes until he swings at a bad pitch for strike 3. It's so predictable to everyone except David Ross.
  4. Thats....actually a really good comp. I remember just begging guys like Mulholland and Beck to please hold up for X more games. I'd be doing the same thing with this year's Cubs guys except half of them are on the IL
  5. Of course 105+ MPH liner right at someone. Thanks again Dansby would have been nice to have gotten 1 back there Edit: 104, .620 xBA
  6. I want to be in the position that puts us in the playoffs lol. If that means accidently ending up WC2 so be it
  7. Morel will either homer or swing at something terrible
  8. Dansby with a runner on 3rd and 1 out, I'm sure he will get the run home Edit: shocker he struck out. Would have been cool if Seiya was hitting there
  9. Marlins lose. cubs cannot fall out of a playoff spot tonight but their chances of avoiding the Brewers will take a serious blow without a comeback
  10. Anatomy of a collapse: horrifically slumping offense loses a bunch of low scoring games then starts to get it together in time for the pitching to fail and start losing high scoring games. At least there was one magical game where the better offense and good pitching intersected
  11. Watch us lose by 1 because Bellis hit didn’t go out
  12. I guess that was a big spot since Dansby just struck out on 3 pitches
  13. Wish Seiya was up here instead of Dansby. I know he’ll get a chance too most likely but just a buzz kill
  14. All 162 games count equally. I understand what you are trying to say but the Pirates are literally the main reason we are anywhere near the playoffs. We're 69-71 against teams who aren't the Pirates. You aren't going to go 12-1 against a team in a given year. Steele is gassed and got shelled twice, the offense has hit a wall. If they lost a series to the Rockies in June (like when the Brewers got swept) it would be whatever, its just magnified because there are 10 games left. Steele is gassed and got shelled again, it sucks but it happens.
  15. Don't worry Mastrobuoni and Tachman will surely be able to get us some runs in a hurry.
  16. I mean they are currently 11-3 against those 2 teams and thats probably the main reason why they are a legitimate playoff team. Tonight they are facing maybe one of the best pitchers in baseball the last 4-5 weeks. Your ace can't give up 6 ER in 3 IP
  17. Steele's ERA for the season is now at 3.00 exactly
  18. Can't believe that tool was in David Ross's circle of trust. Might still be. Need to win the next 4 games
  19. Kind of wish Bellinger was hitting there instead of Happ
  20. And of course Mastrobuoni singles on a high fastball. Nice work internet
