  1. Plus I would assume his WAR would go down moving from SS to 3B, though a lot of his value is his bat.
  2. To be fair, the US did have by far the easiest opponent
  3. Someone (in Spanish): We can't miss Copa, just let him keep taking kicks until he makes one. On a related note, that dude has to be the worst penalty taker ever. The keeper almost stopped the 3rd one too.
  4. Feels like Honduras got CONCACAF'd. 9 minutes of added time seemed like a lot, but 2 more minutes from that 9 minutes is really stretching it. BTW, winner will face the USA in the Semis, so important match. I don't mind matching up with Mexico again though. Edit; actually it sounds like if the match ends in penalties the US will face Jamaica. If someone scores before extra time ends, the US will face the winner
  5. Jamaica knocks Canada out of the Nations League and clinches a spot in Copa by winning 3-2 today and advancing via away goals. There’s a chance that Canada and Mexico might have to play each other with the loser not making Copa lmao
  6. crazy
  7. not sure if it will be him but I’m like 99% certain the Giants will make a splash somewhere, but for whatever reason I think it will be a position player. But yeah they won’t allow themselves to be left holding the bag again after being torched by their fanbase last winter
  8. The Roberts trade rumor thread is quite a legendary thread on NSBB. There was obsessive constant posting for months and months. Peavy was also a long obsessive thread with its own legendary moments (Peavy signing Go Cubs Go at a bar), but something about that Roberts thread just sticks in my head. Roberts was a solid 4 win player and filled an area of need, but I'm not sure why we were so obsessed with getting him.
  9. Welp, the US loses their 2nd consecutive 2-1 match in Trinidad but advance on aggregate 4-2. Disappointing window overall
  10. WTF Dest? Legit just lost his mind, got a red card and then yelled at his teammates for pushing him off the field. USA up 4-1 in aggregates right now at halftime but the second half will surely be more tense being down a man.
  11. have no idea if he has any legitimacy but people like the bleacher nation twitter account are treating him like he is somewhat legit
  12. if we’re still doing this…obsessing over OSullivan Fields breakdowns feels like a lifetime ago
  13. That's a good point about losing a game like this twice this year. How different does the season seem if they are 5-6 right now? They'd still be under .500, but a game out of the playoffs looking at a fairly light schedule the rest of the way and an upcoming bye week to get healthy. All that needed to happen was the Bears not blowing a 28-7 late 3rd quarter lead and a 26-14 lead with 4 minutes left.
  14. I obviously understood the logic of not going QB last year and trading it. I can somewhat understand the logic of not going QB this year in a vacuum. But hard to swallow having the number 1 pick in back-to-back years and leaving that situation with your QB of the present and future being a 4th year guy that you still aren't entirely sure is going to be good.
  15. Lets spare the weekly conversation about how useful PFF grades are, just posting this for those that find value in them
  16. Uhh yeah that’s a terrible idea if the ad is legit and it’s intended to welcome a visiting Ohtani to Chicago. Step 1: heavily leak strong interest in Ohtani, make it seem legitimate to excite the fan base and convince them the Cubs are willing to spend. Step 2: blatantly ignore the 1 desire to have his meetings be secretive Step 3: say “oh shucks we really tried” when he signs with the Dodgers
  17. record breaking Chicago Bears team
  18. ignore the ranting at the end but that’s crazy. And in addition to the 4 turnovers, the bears dropped 2 additional interceptions. I’d be dumbfounded if it was any team but the Bears.
  19. Bears now hold the 1st and 4th overall picks of the 2024 draft. If they had won they would have been 1st and 8th.
  20. 2022: Bears have a 24-10 lead with 11 mins left vs Lions at Soldier Field. Lions score 2 quick TDs in a span of 90 seconds to tie it. Fields has an amazing 67 yard run to give the Bears the lead but Santos misses the XP, Lions score late and win by 1 2020: Bears have a 30-20 lead with 3 mins left on the road against Detroit, give up 2 TD in a 90 second span and lose because Montgomery can’t pick up a 4th and inches from the Detroit 20 yard line. This is 3rd. At one point I had a long list of inexplicable losses over the last 20 years that was maybe 10 deep and included the 27 point Brady comeback in 2002, the Tebow game in 2011, and the 20 point collapse vs Rodgers in 2018
  21. Still no winning streaks or division wins in the Eberflus era
  22. The Bears looked good, Fields looked good, draft pick position improves and Eberflus closer to getting canned. I wanted to win but this is not a terrible outcome.
  23. How many horsefeathers seconds are left? Wtf
  24. Can I say in retrospect that I thought the Bears should have gone for it on 4th and 1 instead of kicking the FG?
  25. If we lose this I’m looking forward to re-ranking my list of top 5 worst collapses against the Lions
