  1. If the Bulls match, they automatically get him back? Any word on the length of the contract? I know I'm in the minority, but I hope the Bulls don't match that. I'm curious on this, whys that? I'm guessing he's thinking that SF is by far our deepest position, Deng is good but not great, and that much money will leave us bordering on the luxury tax limit and hinder any signings the next could of seasons.
  2. I was thinking about this. If they are going to tie the HFA to something, they should give it to whichever league wins the overall head to head interleague matchups. So if the AL wins 143-111, the AL is the superior league and their WS representative should get HFA. Just a thought...better than tying it to one random game.
  3. Yup, so the NL has the advantage the first 3 innings. I'm just worried about a close game in the 8th inning having to deal with Ryan Ludwick and Nate McClouth hitting.
  4. Yeah but the way the OP was worded, he made it seem like Hendry consciously drafted Hamilton and then traded him to the Reds. He didn't trade Hamilton, he traded his draft spot.
  5. I actually like Rich Harden's delivery for one. One I can't stand is Keith Foulke
  6. Speaking of the Bulls, 670 is reporting the Clippers are ready to sign Deng to an offer sheet. Possibly $12 mil per
  7. Damn, I was hoping he would come to the Bulls. Damn you Pax.

  10. You are [expletive]. I hope you are kidding...
  11. Holy hell. That blows.....................
  12. I would have felt differently had I been posed the question a couple months ago. His glove would be a massive improvement, though. Theriot has 11 errors, Greene has 7. Greene def. makes more 'OMG' plays though. Greene is one of my 25 favorite players in baseball, and would have no problem with him on the Cubs. Maybe if they send Ronny somewhere in a deal this could be a cheap pickup, and a nice backup to Theriot. Definitely more to fielding than errors and omg plays though. I havent looked up his other fielding metrics this year, but I'm assuming Greene is much better due to his numbers in previous years.
  13. I just drew Braun in my HR Derby Pool at work. Hopefully he wins and throws off his swing.
  14. Those jerks putting the Cubs at the bottom wow. Soto hitting 9th?? Sucks that they will probably only get 1 AB now. Edit: BTW, by complaining about Soto hitting 9th, I don't mean that in a Cub bias way. Obviously he shouldn't be hitting 3rd or something, but to be hitting below Fukudome seems stupid.
  15. Just to play the parlor game... The piece attributes the quote to an AL GM. I'm not one to obsess over the Southsiders, but I could see Kenny Williams saying something like that. Stoney's recent comments about Harden not pitching at the same velocity/ease could reflect what he's heard around the Sox org, i.e. hearing directly or indirectly Kenny badmouthing Harden's health. Plus the reference to hearing what Piniella wanted (not that you'd have to be in Chitown to have "heard" that), I could see Kenny telling himself that as a way of reassuring himself about standing pat before the deadline, as in "I'm strong enough to run my ship, and not let my manager dictate irrational deals." Well it makes sense because he was the last person to see Harden when he was an A...the same start when people speculated his velocity was down and probably his worst overall start of the season.
  16. I wish we had prospects that like that, instead of career minor leaguers like Jason Dubois. :)
  17. Give the Cubs a break...a whole bunch of them have to catch a flight to NYC. Oh and also Lincecum is really really really good at throwing a baseball.
  18. Theriot has been better than Lee I think although Lee is back above .300 I believe but Jim Edmonds was definitely a spark when he hits homers and such, I think he had like 6 RBIS in 90 at bats for the Padres and has like 28 in 130 at bats as a Cub. Theriot has not been better than Lee.
  19. I feel like Dempster has Michael Wuertz syndrome. Gets a hitter down 0-2 and then nibbles his way into trouble.
  20. Sorry guys, the Cubs can score 3 runs off Lincecum and the Giants pen, but its not probable.
  21. Especially when the person thats driving the run home is the pitcher!
