  1. That's what I'm saying...yes he doesn't hit righties nearly as well as he does lefties. But he has a better approach against the weaker handed pitcher than hitters like Edmonds or Fontenot do. Lou recognizes this and plays Reed accordingly. It's unbelievable how good of a situational manager Lou can be at times. Sometimes you scratch your head, but overall he does what we all would want a manager to do. It took me almost 2 years to confidently say that after the Dusty Baker era scarred me.
  2. Seriously, I want to talk to a Marlins fan about Gonzalez. I thought bar none Yost was one of the worst situational managers in baseball...but geez I just don't know now.
  3. I think Reed Johnson does well enough against righties to say that he is a better choice to be an everyday player than players like Fontenot and Edmonds.
  4. So what do you consider Friday? We expected that one all along :)
  5. Freddi is too dumb to realize Ronny has reverse splits. Nice
  6. I'm guessing that Cotts starts the inning with a lefty and a switch hitter due up, but who knows for sure. The lefty is their backup catcher, so he can easily be switched out most likely.
  7. If Kosuke doesn't get in a run here, he needs to hit 8th the rest of the season.
  8. He needs to hit a HR that travels to Chicago and hits Hendry in the head.
  9. Setting up the DP possibility. Yeah but putting a hitter with 85 more points of OPS up to the plate. Oh and Aramis only has 11 GIDPs this year.
  10. Is Ned Yost phoning in his strategy from Los Angeles?
  11. WOW! Walking Lee to get to Ramirez. Thank the Almighty Lord!
  12. When that ball got by LuGonz, I thought for sure 3 runs were scoring. I guess its a good call not to send DeRo though with 0 outs
  13. Geez when he first hit that, I thought for sure that he was going to catch it on his feet and it would be too shallow to score a run.
  14. Blah, you knew when Soriano went up 2-1, he was going to swing at the next pitch no matter what.
  15. Wow I can't believe Pinto gave him a decently located fastball on the first pitch.
  16. Why do I still not feel confident about runs scoring here? Oh because I'm a pessimist.
  17. They should have announced Cedeno as the PH. He hits better vs. righties, so in the event that they don't bring in the lefty, which they probably wouldn't, we'd have a good PH up.
  18. Oh man, Edmonds vs. a lefty. Not a big fan of announcing him as the PH. I wish we had a RH off the bench besides Cedeno.
  19. "How many outs you make in the All Star game Uggla? 5?
  20. Oh well, as completely annoying as this will be....the Marlins just have our number and we'll never be able to get over it. Only 6-7 games a year against them at least. Still a 4-2 road trip if we don't come back, and at worst we break even against the Brewers and only lose 1 possibly 2 games to the Cardinals. The crappy thing is, the Cardinals have been on fire, so I can't see us feeling confident about being a playoff lock anytime soon, especially with our September schedule working against us.
  21. Dammit, I was going to predict that Florida would tack on a few runs this inning but I was too lazy to post it.
  22. We are channeling up every frustrating performance by the Cubs this year. At first we were getting lots on and not hitting with RISP. They we were hitting weak balls and not getting good contact on the ball. Now we are hitting liners right to people.
  23. Ball 1 on Kosuke looks like the exact same pitch that rung up Fontenot in the 9th last night.
