  1. I was just thinking that as well.
  2. Vance should have done it.
  3. I'd rather have Lee hit 3rd than 4th. Lee's walk rates have been going up lately. He's useless to hit 4th. Do you want someone with a barely over .400 SLG since April (.410) hitting cleanup? For the record, I'd hit Lee 2nd. Not sure who I'd hit third. Maybe Soto or the CF Platooner of the day (if Edmonds stops sucking). Soriano Lee Edmonds/Johnson Ramirez Soto DeRosa Theriot Fukudome/Hoffpauir
  4. Bizarre to take someone out at 54 pitches, but I guess the Brewers are pretty much coasting to the WC now.
  5. Your post doesn't make sense to me You say their schedule is easy but they play 13 of their 24 games against teams over .500, and 6 against an under .500 team that isn't necessarily a pushover. Then you say that if we take care of business (presumably you mean win at least half of our games), we will be rooting for a team that has a better shot of catching us over a team that is virtually unable to catch us under any circumstances.
  6. Thanks I forgot to update :)
  7. Yup but for every Cliff Lee, there is probably 10 people who are never heard from again.
  8. Again you focus on insults instead of telling me what was wrong with my statement. All I did was question whether or not we'd be able to get the same production out of overachieving players and I get jumped all over. You're not allowed to be pessimistic on NSBB. Stop it.
  9. The main concern I have is Edmonds likely having lost his swerve. His prolonged hot streak basically made up for Lee. Now that Edmonds is likely out of gas, that's trouble. Yup it's a bit of a worry, but as long as the right people get hot in October we'll be good. That's what its all about is getting hot in October. If that doesn't happen we'll be toast either way.
  10. Again, if you put together a team of the best players in baseball history and had them play 162 games, I guarantee you that they'd lose 3 in a row at one point. I'll be worried if we are still playing this poorly at the end of September (we won't be)
  11. First 3 game home losing streak all season. Backe vs. Z/Demp tomorrow. We'll win that one.
  12. Oh well, thats as far as he can hit it anyways.
  13. The time to pinch hit Hoff was for Kosuke, not Derrek. True, but it wouldn't hurt here too.
  14. It's funny how our 3 hitter is up in a HR situation, and I literally have zero hope that he goes yard.
  15. I wish Hoffpauir could PH here. It would be perfect. I doubt they have much of a book on him, I believe Hoff can play 1B, and he's a bigger power threat than Lee.
  16. This is a very similar situation to March 31st against the Brewers.
  17. True enough. I really don't want to see Fuku try to rip one into the wind here. Just a base hit... Sadly, Id rather see Fuku try to homer than Lee.
  18. Dammit Cubs, why the hell did you get a fake rally. Now we have to see a man gyrate all over the mound in a few minutes.
  19. So do you go back to being a holdout? Well my level of patience has always been thin with him so yeah. Yeah, he needed to do more to win me over and his leash is a lot shorter. If anyone cares, in light of all the hand-wringing about facing the D-backs in October, Randy Johnson got lit up by the Cards today. Four homers, including shots by Molina and Lopez (!). AZ leads 7-6 in 7th with bases loaded and 1 out. Yeah but Randy Johnson is not 13-0 lifetime vs. the Cardinals. I will be parinoid about Randy Johnson until we actually beat him.
  20. So do you go back to being a holdout? Well my level of patience has always been thin with him so yeah.
  21. If we don't come back in the 9th Last 14 home games: 8-6 Last 14 road games: 13-1
