    Is 411 MLB innings enough of a sample size to say that Assad is someone who exceeds his expected numbers? How many MLB teams would love to have a player with this track record on their roster? I really don't know why they love yo-yoing him like this. Yes he has options and Colin Rea doesn't. Fine, but while he's done an admirable job, I'd DFA Rea before I'd option Assad, but would love to hear opposing takes if there are any. Edit: Forgot about Civale too. Come on

    Damn I was thinking Holmes might have been the first Cubs starter to get an out in the 8th but a 6 pitch walk and he won't make it through 7. Fantastic performance either way.

    Ian Happ through game 119 last year: .227/.324/.386/.710 Ian Happ in 2026: .216/.324/.420/.745 Last year Happ had a .911 OPS in his last 41 games to end up near his career norms. At some point Happ is going to slump and not compensate for it with a hot streak but until then you always have to assume a stat normalizing hot streak is coming.

    Yikes Ian He needs one of those 2-3 day benchings to clear his head. I still think there’s a hot streak in him but right now he just looks like he knows the outcome of his AB before he gets to the plate.
