  1. They aren't really hovering around .500 care they? 3-3-3 to me is essentially 3 wins in 9 tries, or 3 wins and 6 losses. Last years team went 40-34-8 and didn't make the playoffs.
  2. It seems like the Bears matchup so well against the Titans, if that is possible. They are very strong against the run vs. a strong running-very weak passing team. Then again, this Lions game has letdown, stupid playoff killing loss written all over it Yeah, but the Titans have already faced the number 1 and number 2 run D's in football (Baltimore and Minnesota) and won both. They can win in a variety of ways.
  3. You best stay out of the game thread in 2 weeks!
  4. I heard it will resume tomorrow at 7:00 PM CST
  5. Why does it seem like the MLB always gets itself into these wacky scenarios?
  6. If LenDale White didn't exist, Chris Johson would have LT 2006 like fantasy stats.
  7. Not to depress anyone, but man can you imagine if this were the Cubs and we were in the same situation as the Phillies? Just waiting waiting waiting.
  8. Why is Buck talking like they would somehow allow the World Series to be decided in a rain shortened game. I don't care if they had to wait until 4am, there is no way that would happen.
  9. This is embarrassing. I'm shocked that Major League Baseball would allow a championship game to be decided in these conditions.
  10. Huet - 13 saves 3 goals allowed. This can't help his odds of starting.
  11. $%#@@ I don't get Versus on my normal RCN cable package. I switched from Comcast like 6 months ago, and on Comcast it was part of the regular package. Oh well, I'll just pretend like its a pre-2008 home game.
  12. I don't swing that way, but perhaps I can locate them at a local bar and buy them some shots.
  13. Not if the campaign was run this poorly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh-b5JvtJUA
  14. I honestly think that's very much on the conservative end for Rose. But then again, you have Hinrich going off, so I can't accuse you of being pessimistic. :) With this matchup, I see Rose at least in the upper-teens (17 or so) in terms of points. Hell, I know it's preseason, but he scored 7 in like 5 minutes against them the other day. With the amount of burn I expect him to get, and with the attack style we saw from Rose in the last few games (not to mention the guards he's up against), I just don't see him scoring that few. I'm predicting jitters, plus teams adjusting to him from his preseason performance. I mean the kid is what 19 years old?
  15. Other top 3 Bulls picks first games: Michael Jordan: 16 points 6 rebounds 7 assists Elton Brand: 14 points 8 rebounds 2 blocks Tyson Chandler: 1 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 6 minutes Jay Williams: 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists Ben Gordon: 3 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 17 minutes
  16. Roses first game: 10 points, 5 assists 4-11 shooting Other notables: Hinrich 23 points 5 assists Gordon 9 points, 13 minutes Thomas 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks
  17. Personally, I think shootouts should be all or nothing. 2 points for winning a shootout, 0 points for losing one. This SOL thing is just weird. The Blackhawks should be 3-5 right now.
  18. Seriously. Shootouts happen so infrequently, that theres gotta be no correlation between attendance/ratings and shootouts. Unless the general public can't stand hockey because of the potential for ties. I guess that's possible.
  19. LOL. So much for that
  20. Before the season, I could barely imagine the Bears averaging 12.5 points per game, let alone be favored by 12.5.
  21. I have a feeling that this week's game will be closer than expected, but the Bears still emerge victorious. It's game week finally!
  22. Yeah I can't see the Padres trading Peavy, despite everything that's been said, unless they are overwhelmed with an offer. They certainly need talent, but Peavy is on a very friendly deal. They should be able to get a lot for him. I would still put the Cubs chances of getting him at less than 5%, and I would still say the Braves are the clear favorite if the Padres trade him.
  23. Just get this damn series over so the hot stove can start. I need to wash the memory of this season away.
  24. What did he have, 5 or 6 no hitters? 7 no-no's. Forgot to add that. When you think of Nolan Ryan you think of one of the most dominating pitchers of all time, and it's a shock to see that he's never had a Cy Young award. He could certainly be dominant, but he also had 292 losses and 2,795 walks in his career. He finished most seasons right around .500. Why are you paying attention to a pitcher's W-L record? Because Cy Young voters place heavy emphasis on W-L records.
  25. Let's not get too crazy over the Texans record. Their 3 wins were against Miami (by 1), Detroit ( 7) and Cincinnati (a lot), all at home.
