  1. Guys, the Bulls are a work in progress. The key word for this season is patience. Also, Deng sucks. He seemed like the least likely person to suddenly suck after signing a big deal, but here we are.
  2. I hate you. We keep Aldridge we don't get Rose. I would rather have Rose and Thomas. Very good point. Still doesn't excuse messing up that draft pick though. I wanted Roy at the time. But, yeah we really screwed that one up. Sadly I wanted Thomas (love that upside). I didn't mind them taking Thomas, but I thought LMA was by far a better fit for us.
  3. I'm not sure. He's been really disappointing this year anyways.
  4. You watching these games? Most of Thomas' stupid 27 foot jumpers are from pick and rolls. I've only seen the Celtics game, thanks to my lack of WGN Chicago and CSN. that said, they need to to pick-and-roll where Thomas is heading towards the basket, not picking and then hanging out 17 feet from the basket I agree. That's on him though, not game planning or Del Negro's system as was being mentioned. Tyrus is just kind of a dumbass. This isn't a bad idea, but I would prefer the pick and roll where Thomas rolls, Rose ignores him and takes it himself. or one where thomas rolls and he keeps on going until he goes back in time and the bulls keep lamarcus aldridge I hate you. We keep Aldridge we don't get Rose. I would rather have Rose and Thomas. Very good point. Still doesn't excuse messing up that draft pick though.
  5. What is: A clock is always right two times a day?
  6. You make it seem like we already have an ace on the team...
  7. Well my understanding is that in the Cover 2, as in all zone defenses, there are holes to exploit. One of the big keys is a pass rush to hurry the QB so that he cannot find those holes. If theres no pass rush, the QB has tons of time to throw and find a receiver.
  8. Also, just realized the Packers play the Vikings next week, meaning that if we lose, we are guaranteed to lose sole position of first place
  9. Turner needs to give Grossman the kid gloves for this one. Try to establish a running game (against an admittedly awesome rush d), and check down early and often. We need to win this game by playing better defense then them and taking advantage of any and all opportunities we get. It will be tough, very tough, but its not impossible.
  10. Yeah, pretty much non-news, but its not like there's a ton of riveting conversations going on in this forum right now. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-03-cubs-chicagonov03,0,5636386.story
  11. The Bears look like the Lions last year. Good enough to get out to a 6-2 start (and for all intents they should be 6-2 or 7-1), but bad enough to collapse and finish 1-7. Let's hope that's not the case.
  12. Orton will be fine. Comcast and other sources are saying its not as bad as it looked. I highly doubt he'll play next week, but its probably a 2-4 week injury. I'll tell you, its nice to be freaking out that our QB is injured instead of just saying 'meh, on to the next one'
  13. There is WAY too much Funk bashing in this thread. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I will agree I like him better on the radio than TV. Swersky (sp) seems like a better TV guy too from what I've heard. I listened to part of Friday's game on the radio, and he didn't seem to do a good job of setting the scene and getting every detail of what's happening on the court like Funk masters. Neil Funk is my favorite PBP guy in any sport in this city, with Pat Hughes a distant second.
  14. That 2-17 Tyrus gave us today....not that good.
  15. They do, they have 2 5 day layoffs next month, I believe. There should be no longer than 3 consecutive days off for NBA or NHL teams.
  16. Feels like forever since the Hawks have played. I think the Hawks have 5 consecutive days off early next month. That's too long inbetween games and should never happen IMO.
  17. I just don't think we have the talent, and I'm not all that certain that the Cubs want him all that much. I think they believe they would rather resign Dempster and keep the same rotation. Actually I think that the Cubs feel they have to resign Dempster because of the relationship with the team.
  18. On a realistic scale, when you left it was a 5/100. Now its.... I don't know.. 15-20/100
  19. Nah, I don't think the Bulls matchup well at all against the Celtics. I think the Bulls can beat a team of the Celtics caliber, but not if they can't matchup well.
  20. For some reason, scouts inc gives RB edge to the Lions. I can't see why... http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/scouting?gameId=281102003
  21. For the love of God, its painfully obvious if we can find a decent package to trade for Peavy, we should trade for him and let Dempster walk. There's no need for Dempster if we can get Peavy, who is clearly better and more likely to be better over the long term. Peavy, Harden, Zambrano, Dempster, Lilly seems unnecessary. We can get to the playoffs with Peavy, Harden, Zambrano, Lilly and Marquis. In the playoffs Marquis doesn't matter and we have an awesome, even better 1-2-3 than last year.
  22. And it looks like they've raised the price. The Cubs always pull this crap. They can sell tickets for any price they want cause they know people will pay it. It's ridiculous. The year the Cubs win it all will be my last year as a fan. Peace. Leave now if you'd like. Seriously, if the Cubs hypothetically were to win the World Series (about the best I can imagine at this point), they could gouge me all they want. They could sell a box of air captured night they won the World Series for $1,000 and I'd probably pay for it.
  23. Judging by your location, it must be the weather up here.
  24. Was debating going to Sports Authority and buying a Phillies cap and wearing it around Chicago today just so that people might stop me and congratulate me so I could feel what it's like to be a fan of a team that won the World Series, but I ultimately decided against it.
  25. From a Phillies fan on Deadspin: I hear people say stuff like this every year after the World Series. [expletive] [expletive]
