  1. Interesting play calling by the Packers here. It was a smart call to come out running and show the Bears they can run on them. When you don't have 8 in the box this is what happens.
  2. Already running the ball more effectively than the Titans.
  3. For the uninformed, Mark was born and raised in the Chicago area, but because the Bears were so bad in the 90s, he decided to become a Packers fan. What a tool ;) Hey, sounds like me and basically every other Chicagoland Packer fan that's around our age. Yeah its sad. Never understood why you'd bail out on your hometown team just because they were bad. That reeks of fairweathered. I guess kids are more impressionable, but still...

  5. What a boring week of college football.
  6. I was thinking more like Carlos Quinten. At least we hope so. Depending on the players it could be a low risk high reward acquisition. Don't forget, in 2006, many many experts pegged Hermina as the likely ROY before injuries messed that up.
  7. what did he have in April, a 14 APG average? i can't figure out why he's still behind Ridnour on the depth chart Nobody can. Mr. Scott Skiles
  8. I'm pumped for tomorrow, win or lose. I thought the Bears would be awful this year, so its fun to be playing a huge game against the Packers in week 11. Go Bears!
  9. Everybody hates NSBB. We're pretty full of ourselves. No its not that. We are just the biggest and most popular Cubs message board on the internet. Like all popular things, its cool to hate us.
  10. So Chad is the writer at TheCubReporter? And GaborBako is Andy Dolan? Is that what I'm getting. I wish we weren't so hated by all these blogs because I actually like the work TCR and Desipio do.
  11. Not only is he weakening our team, but potentially improving a team he will be competing with next year. When all it took was a 1 year deal to keep him. Hendry is putting Kerry Wood before the Cubs if everything that has been said is true.
  12. I still don't think that will happen as Peavy has said he doesn't want to goto the AL. Unless that changes (which I guess it could), they can seek out other teams all they want.
  13. I doubt it. Gordon has a full no-trade clause and loses his Bird Rights for his new team if he gets traded during the season. Also, the Bulls and Gordon cannot negotiate or sign a new deal until the season is over. Those are the terms of the Qualifying offer he signed. Pretty crappy situation the Bulls are in with Gordon. Everyone is getting sky high about Gordon like he hasn't had stretches like this before. I thought Bird Rights gets traded with the player. If Gordon has a full no-trade clause though, I guess it doesn't matter. No, these are all terms for agreeing to the Qualifying Offer that he accepted in October. If you agree to the qualifying offer, 3 things happen: 1) The player cannot negotiate or resign with his current team until he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season 2) The player gets the right to veto any trade involving him 3) If the player does accept the trade, he loses his Bird Rights with his new team. If he stays on the Bulls all season and chooses to resign, he will still retain his Bird Rights with the Bulls however. It's a really weird position to be in. If he plays awesome and the Bulls decide they want him long term, they are going to have to outbid any team with cap space to sign him.
  14. Except the Braves really can't sit on their hands for a few weeks and wait for this to deal to play out as the free agent pitching market gets picked clean in the next few weeks. But should they fail in their pursuit of their main targets, they could be right back in the mix.

  16. They do sound like a bunch of big babies complaining, but I think they aren't as bothered by it as they act, and they use the media as motivation to play better. Or at least they try to. In the interest of making a prediction, here is what I am thinking Bears 27 Packers 21 Orton 17-28 242 yards 1 TD 1 INT Forte 22 carries 96 yards 1 TD, 3 catches 28 yards Hester Punt return for TD
  17. I'm worried about that game, being sandwiched between two games against divisional rivals (Packers and Vikings). Rams aren't very good, but they had a stretch where they proved they can beat some decent teams, especially if they aren't focused. I think that stretch is done. A new coach bounce is not unheard of, but Haslett is a goof and that team sucks. If the Bears are any good that won't be a problem. I'm looking for Hester's first return TD in that game, on the fast track, against a subpar opponent. Unless it happens Sunday of course. Last time the Bears were here Hester ran back two. And Rex was awesome. *sigh* That game was awesome though. Monday night, Dome was electric, which it never is. When the Bears are really really good, it seems like everything is electric. That season was electric. In no way were they as good as the 85 Bears, but the atmosphere in some of the road games they played sure seemed like it.
  18. Huh? How is Peavy our number 1 target? Our number 1 target from day 1 has been a left handed hitting 3/4/5 hitter. Who is an athlete and has at least 1 Q and 1 V in his name. And can catch the ball
  19. I don't think they wanted to add more payroll, but they lost a crapload off their books this year with Giambi, Abreu and others becoming FAs, so why not spend it?

  21. Everyone is still crying about Kerry Wood. No to be honest, I don't know why there isn't more discussion about the game. It's Packer week! http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g114/thenaughties/bearspack3.jpg http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/06r9fDAa1e8ZP/610x.jpg http://www2.jsonline.com/packer/image/nfl/ryan1222.jpg http://www.nancarrow-webdesk.com/warehouse/storage2/2007-w40/img.14632_t.jpg http://sportsmaven.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/bears-beat-packers-27-20-10-7-07.jpg
  22. It's just too bad we can't even try to until the season is over :(

  24. wat?
  25. WTF Negotiation tactic. He will go to either the Braves or Cubs.
