  1. Weird, I went to 3 Red Sox message boards and didn't see this rumor mentioned. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I just think its weird that Red Sox message boards haven't picked up on it yet.
  2. DeRosa probably doesn't have a lot of value but that's like the least valid reason why No its not. He's not a valuable barganing chip because its unlikely that he would be a long term solution for any team he gets traded to. Maybe if the third team was a contender we could discuss it, but its definitely a valid reason why. i think the fact that he only has one year left on his contract kind of made it a given that he wouldn't be a long term solution for anyone. do you think i'm talking about trading him to san diego? i'm not. i was talking about trading him to a contender in need of a 2B and then flipping the piece they get back to sd. I'm not, as I said above if the third team was a contender then its a different story.

  4. I'm going to say Ohio State 30 Michigan 9
  5. You just gave 234 NSBB posters orgasms with that post.
  6. Rumor to get us through another Bulls offday: This would be an awesome trade. We'd have cap space (Raef I think its an 11m expiring) to make a run at Boozer or even Kobe if he opts out, and we could resign Gordon if he keeps playing well.
  7. It just seems unrealistic. Take Greene out of the trade and it still seems unrealistic. That sounds like a package the Cubs would be offering to get just Peavy. You mean take Greene out and it seems more unrealistic. Again, you said yourself that he has negative value. Blah, that comment was more or less hyperbole. He has some value even with his salary.

  9. I think we'll be better than last year. Koshwal and Dar Tucker are Sophomores and I think were honorable mention for preseason All Big East. Of course, the last time I got excited about a DePaul tandem it was Sammy Mejia and Wilson Chandler, and that didn't turn out well. I think a decent season and a NIT bid are possible. I'll be there tonight too and probably drinking beforehand as well. Not sure if I'll be at McGee's though. I feel like I outgrew that place. I hate Wainwright too btw. He's an ok recruiter and a mediocre coach, but he' just not the guy that's going to bring DePaul back to prominence (if that's possible). Personally, I'm still really upset that Leito left for UVA a few years back. He was really building something solid...its not like he was coaching some no name school or something. Him leaving belittled the program into small time status. But then again, if Tom Crean can leave a very successfully built Marquette team, I guess its not as big of a shame as I'm making it. Though UVA is NOT in the same class as IU.
  10. LOL...Peavy AND Greene AND Dye for Vitters, Hart, Cedeno, Veal, Pie? Even with Dye being old and Greene probably having negative value that seems like not enough given up for those 3 players. I'd guess if the White Sox wanted to move Dye, its not a salary dump but a move to get better. I can't see this trade happening, and I'm surprised its legitimate enough for a person in the media to mention it, even if via email.
  11. http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2008/nov/15/padres-s16padnotes/?padres Wow, that sounds so much like Donnie's story, that I'm starting to get suspicious. I don't think I mentioned who was in Puerto Rico with him, did I? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to uncover that information if they wanted to. I was half kidding though.
  12. That ticked me off that Lee won the Silver Slugger at 1B in 2005 but Pujols won the MVP. At the time Lee was still considered a very good defender at 1B, probably as good or better than Pujols. How can you be the most valuable at your position but have another player at your position win MVP. Was Pujols a better teammate or something? (I'm choosing to ignore the fact that the Cubs won 79 games and the Cardinals won around 100)
  13. Maybe he got Carlos and Derrek mixed up?
  14. No he won't.
  15. Yeah, either him or Howard should complain. Kinda funny that its almost the EXACT opposite situation as 2006, the only difference being that Howard's team made the playoffs AND finished with more wins than the Cardinals. Oh and the fact that Howard's numbers weren't even close to Pujols' this year. Either way, even though he's a Cardinal and a bit of a jackass, I've always liked the guy so congrats on a deserving award.
  16. moochpuppy posted this in a locked thread, but I got a kick out of it: http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2008/nov/15/padres-s16padnotes/?padres Wow, that sounds so much like Donnie's story, that I'm starting to get suspicious.
  17. They got rid of Bobby Wade because he couldn't field a punt to save his life, and they already long since determined he didn't deserve to play as a WR, so he had no place to go with the Bears. Now he went to Minnesota, and became a serviceable receiver...and probably someone good enough to start for this current Bears team.
  18. My point was that these were players that were given little to no opportunity with the Bears and after leaving the Bears have found lots of playing time on other teams. I want them to play Bennett before they make the same mistake with him. Previously, I would say something like "Obviously Bennett isn't showing enough in practice to earn playing time", but after watching Bradley's first few games with KC, and seeing the quotes KC players are saying about him, I can't use this excuse anymore.
  19. Agreed. I'd also look at WR early. Another rant... Is Earl Bennett worse than Davis, Booker, Hester, Lloyd, or the two TE they have lined up at WR? This WR group is awful and Bennett (a 3rd rd pick) can't see the field. Maybe one day Bennett will join the list of WRs that couldn't get reps with the Bears but are shining elsewhere. That list includes Justin Gage, Bobby Wade, and now Mark Bradley.
  20. A lot of people just lost money in that Pit/SD game on that last second TD
  21. Holy crap, how have you not had a heart attack over the last 7 weeks. All 7 of those games could have gone either way wow.
  22. Mike Brown said that basically the Bears players need to come to grips that they aren't a very good defense.
  23. Disagree, its going to be a horrible slaughter for the Bears, starting next week when - mark my words - we fall to St. Louis.
