  1. See above but Tampa Bay (over Oakland who put up a great performance over a hot Houston team today) and Dallas (over Philly)
  2. And assuming that the Bears beat the Packers (I know, I know, big assumption to make), this is our playoff scenarios for week 17. Basically its: For Wild Card: Bears win Tampa Bay loses Dallas Loses For Division: Bears win Vikings lose There was a scenario that had the Bears going in at 9-7 if we were to lose in week 17, and we tie the Cowboys and win the tiebreaker based on strength of victory, but apparently by San Fran coming back to beat St. Louis, Dallas clinched that tiebreaker.
  3. Man, I cannot [expletive] believe this. BESIDES A TIE (props bukie) EVERYTHING went right for me football wise today, including a Chargers win and Broncos loss to set up what I've been hoping for the last 4 weeks. Can you believe a team that was once 4-8 actually controls their own destiny for a division championship? Bears playoff odds are still only like 30% with a win tomorrow, but that is much better than the 10% we had coming into today.
  4. OK, I'm officially starting to get nervous about the Falcons/Vikings game....
  5. Go tie! Go tie! With ties being such unlikely outcomes, I am not going to assume one can exist in my "perfect scenario". I sure as hell won't root for Atlanta to blow a 17 point lead and sweat through an OT with the Bears division hopes hanging in the mix.
  6. I'm not getting my hopes up, but so far this is the exact perfect scenario for the Bears with Dallas and TB already losing, and Minnesota and Philly up by 10 in the third quarter of their games.
  7. Like I said, Atlanta needed to caplitalize and they didn't. 4 Vikings turnovers, but only 10 points off those 4 turnovers.
  8. Yes much move to Miami. Easy schedule or not, going from 1-15 to possibly 11-5 is just amazing
  9. Holy crap is Minnesota self destructing or what? 4 turnovers early in the 3rd, and I think 3 of the 4 turnovers have come in Falcons territory. The Falcons need to caplitalize here. Only up 10. Minnesota can gain momentum back in a hurry if their defense can keep them in the game.
  10. BTW, I was thinking about it. We should definitely be rooting for Carolina tonight if Minnesota loses. If the Giants win, they get their confidence back and know they can beat the NFC elite. If they lose, they will be in shambles, and will need to probably play their starters for at least a half so they can get their confidence back and end the regular season on a high note before the playoffs.
  11. Man, the Cardinals look so awful. What a treat it is for whatever team gets to play them in the first round, even if it is in AZ.
  12. Well looks like the Chargers defense has no intentions of helping out the other NFC Wild Card contenders. How damn annoying. 24-20 Bucs
  13. Best case scenario is obviously SD over TB, ATL over MIN, WAS over PHI, CHI over GB If that happens this what it looks like NFC North 1. MIN 9-6 2. CHI 9-6 WC 5. ATL 10-5 6. DAL 9-6 7. TB 9-6 8. CHI 9-6 9. PHI 8-6-1 So this would be the Bears scenario for playoffs Chicago wins the NFC North with a win over Houston AND a Minnesota loss or tie to New York Giants OR a tie over Houston AND a Minnesota loss to New York Giants Chicago clinches an NFC Wild Card playoff bearth with a win over Houston AND a Tampa Bay loss or tie to Oakland AND a Dallas loss or tie to Philadelphia OR a tie over Houston AND a Tampa Bay loss to Oakland AND a Dallas loss to Philadelphia I know I'm getting way way way ahead of myself, I just like to do this kinda stuff.
  14. SOB. I forgot about ties. Dallas can still tie Philly, and the Bears will be alive going into Week 17. OK, I am a moron, sorry for wasting half this page with my moronic posts.
  15. Yeah, I am reading the sportsline.com Joe Ferreira's message board, and everyone there is saying the Bears still need to win and get help from a loss from TB, Min, or Philly to stay alive.
  16. Probably because neither can get in this week.
  17. Hmm...great point. I forgot that its possible that with a 3 way tie the Bears can get in....which means that we would still be a live because there is a possibility that TB can lose to create a 3 way tie for 2 playoff spots. Now I'm just confused, but it looks like I have been proven wrong. In a scenario where TB, Dallas and Chicago all tie for two spots the Bears still might have a shot. 3 team tie breakers 1. Sweep of the other two teams tied. TB is the only team that played both of us, and they lost to Dallas while they beat Chicago. So onto step 2... 2. Conference record: Bears 7-5, TB: 8-4, DAL: 8-4. So I'm pretty sure the Bears still lose there. Hmmm....I guess its back to the drawing board.
  18. Wait a second...did the Dallas loss do anything? The Bears are still 6-5 in the conference, and Dallas is 7-4, which means if Minnesota, TB and Philly win this week the Bears still get eliminated right? Because....TB clinches one of the 2 WC spots (at least away from the Bears), Minnesota clinches the division, which leaves Atlanta, Philly, Dallas and the Bears for the last WC spot. Philly 9-5-1 Atlanta 9-6 Dallas 9-6 Chicago 9-6 (assuming a win over GB) so in week 17....If Atlanta loses to St. Louis, Chicago beats Houston and Philly loses to Dallas its... Dallas 10-6 Chicago 10-6 Philly 9-6-1 Atlanta 9-7 So Dallas and Chicago are tied so it goes to tie breakers... Tiebreakers: 1. H2H: Didn't play 2. Conference standings: Dallas 8-4, Chicago 7-5 Dallas clinches the playoffs. If Philly beats Dallas instead, they win the last WC spot with a 10-5-1 record. I think Philly or TB or Atlanta still need to lose for the Bears to still be alive.
  19. If Minnesota, TB and Philly (and the Bears) win this week the scenario would be something like: Bears clinch playoff spot with a win AND an Atlanta loss (to STL) AND a Philly loss (to Dallas) PLUS Bears win strength of victory tiebreaker over Dallas. I have no idea how to calculate strength of victory tiebreaker. Does it have to do with the quality of the opponents you've beaten or the margin of victory over all your opponents?
  20. Ha, he's right, you don't know anything. The Angels had the best record in the MLB last year. (jk about not knowing anything, just had to be nitpicky)
  21. Well he has had trouble adjusting to this offense which limits his slashing abilities. Without that, he's basically like Malik Allen. But yeah he is not the same player he was 2 seasons ago.
  22. Plus Rose has been struggling lately, and the Bulls are 3-10 on the road this year (9-3 at home). This is going to be a slaughter. We already don't match up well with this team to begin with. Celtics 102 Bulls 78 Good pick on the score...I see like a 40-10 or something in the first half Thiis game will be the one game nobody expects the Bulls to win, and they win. Can't explain, but I think the C's come out flat, and the Bulls win at the buzzer. I don't think the C's ever come out flat. They take no games for granted and seem to play at a high level every game. They don't want to lose. Ever.
  23. Packer week is dead because we're all but finished. It would be different if we still had a decent shot at the playoffs. Hell, it would be different if we were both out of it or if the Packers were in it and we weren't because that's all we had to play for. But its just kinda depressing to be 8-6 and own a record that 9 seasons out of 10 good enough to have a good shot at the playoffs, rather than just about eliminated.
  24. Plus Rose has been struggling lately, and the Bulls are 3-10 on the road this year (9-3 at home). This is going to be a slaughter. We already don't match up well with this team to begin with. Celtics 102 Bulls 78
  25. I'd love to attend this, but I didn't win the raffle and I'm not willing to pay over $300 a ticket to freeze my butt off in my hungover state. I'll probably just go to Wrigleyville to absorb the atmosphere and watch the game.
