  1. Looking forward to the Semi finals tonight. Venezuela vs. Korea correct?
  2. Yep. I'll definitely take it. The thing is, Wright pretty much played the role of Harris in the first half, at least as far as scoring is concerned, so it hasn't been a huge loss.
  3. Dammit, now when I'm bragging to my friends, I can't say that Michigan was leading their second round game at halftime. That said, I'm impressed. OU hasn't really played well, but Michigan hasn't played great either. I am convinced that it's possible Michigan can win.
  4. Wow Michigan is going to be at least within 1 point of the Sooners at the half, and Manny Harris has only played 4 minutes. Now Manny will be fresh in the second half, and 2 fouls in the second half isn't really foul trouble anymore.
  5. Yeah, I assumed the game was all but over when they said Harris had 2 fouls on the update, but still hanging in there. It's because nearly everything UM is throwing up there is going in. UM is shooting 55% and is 5-8 from 3. OU is shooting 37%. Not to sound pessimistic, but I'm sure that trend will even itself out a bit. That said, so far so good without Harris for the last 12 minutes. Come on man. Have faith! I have faith! I am just trying to look at it realistically so I am not blindsided when OU makes a run.

  7. Dammit c'mon Purdue keep that lead up so the UM game keeps being shown locally.
  8. I'd be so annoyed if I was a Sooner fan. Griffin gets clobbered on nearly every play, but fouls only get called in like a 1/3 of those plays.
  9. This UM game is not going to end well. OU is playing their style of ball and getting what they want inside.
  10. Hey you know being a #1 seed earns you that home court edge.........wait Nova is a 3 seed? Nevermind. lol I really don't care for the increased regionalization they put into the brackets the last few years. It is pretty sad when even a #8 seed gets to play close to home (Ohio State)...I think that privilege should be reserved for the top 4 teams. Yeah but you have to accept it going in. The NCAA is trying to cut travel costs, so there are going to be scenarios where a #3 seed plays in their home city, etc. It sucks but its going to happen. Not the same becuase they were a 1 seed but last year UCLA got to open up in Anaheim, and the year before as a 2 seed they opened up in Sacramento. Now they have to play Nova in Philly. Sacramento is 400 miles from LA. That's as close as Baltimore is to Boston. Yeah, I know. I wasn't going to post it until I remembered they started in Anaheim last year.
  11. Marshall has 2 1/3 scoreless. Soriano and Bradley both homered, Bradley's first dinger.
  12. I think the night sessions will have some better games. At least I hope since Michigan is playing in one of them. But I think Purdue-Washington will be good, and Duke-Texas should at least be more competitive than these games.

  14. Kinda makes me mad that the Cubs were saying that it was no big deal that Harden was waiting for the second week of exhibition games to start pitching. Now after one setback, an illness that delays one start, the papers are speculating that there is little chance that he will be ready to go the first run through the rotation. So either the Cubs were lying to us (again) or they are stupid and left no room for error with Harden. I think the answer is somewhere in between there though. Just annoying.
  15. I was talking about this with my roommate today. It's probably my Big 10 homerism at play, but I have actually come to admire and even enjoy the Big 10 style of play over time. It's probably because its all I see, plus every single non-Big 10 person rips it nonstop, but I enjoy it. says the fat guy trying to have sex fat guys gotta do it too.

  17. 4-3 for the Big 10 isn't embarrasing but it isn't good at all to keep the talking heads quiet. Two of the three teams that lost were higher seeds too while two of the four wins were lower seeds.
  18. It's actually right on par with the last few years. Here are the number of teams seeded 10 or higher that won first round games: 2009: 6 (with three still to play) 2008: 6 2007: 2 2006: 8 2005: 5 When I think of Cinderellas, I think of mostly unknown teams from small conferences. This years upsets come from major conferences (Maryland, Michigan, Arizona, USC), well known programs (Dayton), or teams that have been there last year (Western Kentucky). Cleveland State...now that's an upset to get excited about.
  19. This Cuse/Stephen F. Austin game is worth watching just for that midget guard playing against the much taller Syracuse players. They said he's listed at 5'3'' but is more like 5 foot 1 1/2 inches
  20. Wow, SSR really went off last night. I missed out.
  21. I knew it wouldn't be long untill someone played the "small sample size" card. The numbers are still real, and he continues to impress with every opportunity he gets. I probably should have quoted his career .800 + OPS through the minors. As long as he keeps hitting, how do you keep him out of the lineup? I understand that with more Ab's, his numbers might dwindle, and if so, fine, he is still a great bench bat. Its time to stop assuming DLee is going to hit like he did in '05. Hoff may very well be out best offinsive option at 1B this year. Thats reality. Before ripping sample sizes, do you first understand why people point to sample sizes as arguments? Ryan O'Malley has never given up a major league earned run. Where is that guy anyways, we have a rotation spot waiting for him.
  22. The only way that #1 happens is if Lee suffers a season-ending injury, and the Cubs can't work out a trade with another team for a first baseman for the rest of the season. Item #2 is possible, but not probable. I guess that makes it a "bold" prediction. Well, Lee is already banged up, and if he plays as poorly as he did late last year, I'm not sure how long Lou will stick with him, assuming Hoff is hitting. Highly doubtful though. Yeah, definitely not happening. And poor is a little bit of a stretch: he still got on base at a .361 clip last year and had a 110 OPS+. Certainly not what you want in the three spot because of the low slugging percentage (in the 400's), but not bad enough to be benched in favor of a guy who has 73 career big league at bats. I agree that DLee should get the benifit of the doubt and I truly hope he has a great year, its just at this point, I'm starting to think that his wrist injury really did have an effect on his power. Bottom line, if Hoff keeps crushing the ball, and DLee is still hitting weak grounders, how do you keep Hoff out of the lineup? Considering DLee is a team leader, former all star and still above average defensive first baseman, and Hoffpauir is a 29 year old non-prospect that never made it to the bigs before last year, I am pretty sure Lou will give Lee an extremely long rope before replacing him in the lineup.
  23. OMG ANOTHER TURNOVER
  24. Last 4 possessions from UM ended in a turnover.
  25. Huge choke by UM geez
