    Because its pretty likely that he's not the long term answer so why get excited about being teased? But if you want to be happy knock yourself out. Just don't go overboard.

    Wow, Fuld has played in 2 games, how do you know he's not a .550 OPS major league player that pitchers haven't figured out yet? Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 HRs on Opening Day 1994, how did that work out for him? Sam Fuld is a direct descendent of Babe Ruth. Are you saying Lilly should run for President? :)

    Nice inning Heilman, I'll give credit where credit is due. If the Cubs can get a run here, its 8-9-1 due up for the Brewers in the 9th, and the 1 is Kendall.

Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 HRs on Opening Day 1994, how did that work out for him? Of course I don't believe Fuld is the player he's shown so far, but I do know that he's hot right now and Sori has been god awful for over a month. I think I'll take my chances with the guy who is red hot instead of the guy who has done nothing but hit mile high pop ups. I'm just so sick of the "I'm going to "Vance" Fuld into the All Star game because he's the greatest hitter ever" sentiment.

    You forgot that GRIT Factor is 3/4s of how UZR is compiled. Theriot's GRIT factor of 1593.2 is a really big part of that.

    Quick inning. So did they decide if Heilman coming into the game means that the inning automatically starts with runners on first and second with 0 outs, or does he still have to do the work of walking the first 2 batters?

    I wish we had scored more than 1 run in the 4 ABs we had with a runner on third and less than 2 outs in this game. It might have been enough.

    Yeah its too bad that Soriano has never gunned out a runner at home. Unless you are talking about defense as a whole, then keep talking.

    Does anyone know where you can find numbers like "as LHB vs. LHP" and "as RHB vs. RHP" for Switch hitters? I looked on Baseball Reference and all they have are platoon splits only (as RH vs. LH and as LH vs. RH". I'm interested to see how Bradley does as a RH vs. RHP for his career because I know he's had situations where that's occured based in gaps of data.

    Seriously Ive tried defending him and staying on his side, but god damn hes making it hard. Looking at his splits it's baffling to me as to why they insist on acting like he's more useful hitting LH. Yeah, he's had all but 1 of his paltry home runs from that side this season, but his numbers are drastically better from the RH side. Since everyone is talking about splits, I'll fill everyone in As a RHB: .345/.415/.500/.915 As a LHB: .192/332/.315/.646

    Milton Bradley is awesome. Seriously I can't even envision him hitting a home run anymore.

    I couldn't believe Casey even threw it, but then I saw Lee barely beat it out.

    I hate when Z teases me with a few good innings early and then turns into a WHIP machine later in the game. At least he still has the stuff to get out of these jams unless he loses his cool.

    Yeah the inning would have ended much quicker that way. Well obviously with the way we are with RISP we would have had a better chance of a bad throw home. True, but I think Cameron has a pretty good arm. Conventional baseball logic suggests that if there is still only 1 out and your leadoff hitter is up you should hold the runner. But then when you realize that Soriano is up, and the Cubs suck at situational hitting this year I can see your point.

    At this point its gone beyond a slump. It might just be a super long confidence draining slump that might take an offseason of recovery to get over. He might snap out of it tomorrow. Who knows. I don't think it's eroding skills though unless he's 3+ years older than he says he is.
