    O'Reilly Auto Parts (assuming that is what you are referring to) is headquartered in Springfield MO. Closest MLB team is the Cardinals. Ohtani a Cardinal confirmed.

    He did say that Ohtani was traveling to Toronto today, not that he was en route so I guess he could be leaving later on lol Who knows, what a circus.

    Bowden saying the same thing, but his track record is spotty too. Morosi is the only semi legit reporter that has said anything about being in Toronto I think

    I doubt ever. We're talking what 15 games where the weather if iffy and even in that month of iffy weather there is occasionally really nice weather. It probably affects like 7-8 games a year depending on what you consider too cold

    You do know that Toronto plays in a dome right? lol Yes the weather might suck but his point was playing in cold ass weather kind of sucks and Toronto is an option that allows him to avoid it when at home.

    I'm dubious about the press conference too. I've seen 7pm ET and 6pm ET but it makes no sense to have a PC without a physical and unless they did the physical in LA or Florida last week, I don't see how they can make an official announcement today.

    The "Ohtani?" plane is currently flying over Illinois air space for the next 4 minutes or so (clipping the NW corner of the state). How exciting!

    Kind of funny to go from playing in one of the most competitive divisions in baseball to another one of the most competitive divisions in baseball. He'll get to the playoffs with Toronto but not exactly maximizing his chances of winning a title IMO.

    Why do I feel like there's a 90% chance we're sitting there in mid-February waiting to find out if we resigned Bellinger to salvage our offseason? Seems like one of those FAs where its going to turn into a battle of wills between Boras and interested teams. The good news is the Yankees have their OFs, the Blue Jays with Ohtani are out, I doubt the Dodgers will give him a long term deal after non-tendering him a year ago. Probably will have a mix of teams like San Francisco, LAA, Seattle and the Cubs bidding for him. If SF gets Yamamoto, that settles their fans demand for a big FA. Just speculating LAA after losing Ohtani and keeping Trout.

    Jed is being so secretive about this that he had Ohtani fly to Toronto to take his Cubs physical and sign the contract so that everyone would think he's signing with the Blue Jays. We're going to be sitting there on Opening Day wondering why the hell Ohtani decided to not sign with anyone when the Cubs Twitter account will release the lineup with Ohtani hitting 4th.

    It was leaked, I don't think they leaked it. Their GM appeared on a Zoom call with a plain white background during the winter meetings and claimed he had a conflict that prevented him from being there. Not their fault if the media did some digging from that and figured out the truth. Or maybe it was stupid for them to even have a suspicious Zoom call and should have had someone at the meetings speak to the media (similar to Carter speaking for the Cubs the first day), but its different than brazenly telling everyone you met, what you did during the meeting etc. I mean in reality the whole thing about staying quiet about meetings is stupid and even stranger if it affected the Dodgers' chances but I'm going to pretend its why they didn't get him anyways because its so much funnier.

    Does Dave Roberts get fired if he signs with the Jays? Even though it would be ridiculous to not choose a team because they leaked a meeting with that player, I'm going to pretend that's why.

    There was a rumor a few days ago that if they signed Ohtani they would look to trade Bichette and Vlad or something to that effect.

    I'm still below where I was before the switch. I had almost 88k in March, now around 86k. Haven't checked my post count in a while so I'm not sure if it went up but not quite to the level it was at before.

    Toronto fans are sneakily annoying as hell. You kind of forget they exist until something good happens and then they become obnoxious. It gives me so much joy that their beloved hockey team is a punchline for its inability to win a Stanley Cup.
