  1. Also, it would be nice if Lee could end the season in the Top 5 of the MVP race. In no way does he deserve to win it, but top 5 sounds right, considering the Cubs offense literally would be hapless without Lee, especially when Ramirez was out
  2. Now .989 after the double. Amazing. Since there's not much left to cheer for since it seems like the Cubs are locked into second and very likely will finish over .500, the biggest thing I'm rooting for is Lee to get to a 1.000 OPS.
  3. DLee's up to the second OPS........... .985
  4. Not a big fan of Cameron offensively to be honest, but I do like him defensively. I think people would rather sign a big marquis bat. We've struck out the last 3 offseasons looking for that dominant middle of the order OF (Soriano, Fukudome, Bradley). With Lee and Ramirez getting older they need something that would resemble a middle of the order guy. I realize not too many of the premier hitters go on the market, but I'm looking for something a little better offensively than Mike Cameron.
  5. The rule of thumb is usually that if Milton Bradley has been on a team, said team will probably not want him back on the team. As your info said, Texas, who apparently he got along with amazingly, won't welcome him back, why would Cleveland? And plus, Kerry Wood is gone, it's over. He was a mediocre closer and he's making a crapload of money. Love the guy but it's over.
  6. It's 0% the fans fault. The fans have been acting this way for years. They didn't target Bradley directly. They didn't boo him any differently than any other player they've booed over the years. There was plenty of evidence that the Cubs fans are rough on their players. It's a pretty well known fact that at Wrigley, the crowd is right over the OFs. None of this is unusual. The fans shouldn't expect to "cheer" any differently because of one player. Bradley is guilty of playing poor baseball and countering that with constant comments and complaints that don't endear himself to anyone. It's his grave, he dug it. Bradley has been run out of multiple major league cities despite sometimes excellent play. It's definitely a pattern that can't be ignored.
  7. Zambrano and Bradley for Beltran and Perez? I wouldn't do a trade like that but could at least it open the discussion.
  8. Mine never stays logged in more than 20 minutes or so but I've given up. If it matters, I'm using Firefox, and it's something unique to this site because every other site I have to log in at leaves me logged in.
  9. bucs in OT one year, can't remember which one. It was '06 when the Bears had already pretty much clinched everything and blew a huge lead to them. He missed the FG, but they ended up forcing a turnover, and gave Robbie another shot and he nailed it. He was actually going through a random and rare slump at that time. If you remember, Gould had a huge stretch of consecutive makes to start the season, and without looking it up he just randomly lost it and missed 4-5 FGs in a 3 game stretch. But eventually he got it right as you saw in the playoffs. Edit: OK, I was curious and looked it up. He started the season by making his first 24 FGs, before finally having one blocked against NE. He went 2-3 that game including the block, but after not having an attempt in the next game, he went 0-2 against the Rams missing a 30-39 yarder and a 40-49 yarder. After missing the kick in TB, he finished the season 11 for his next 11 FGs including the playoffs, where he went 6-6
  10. Welcome to Wrigley North. Or probably not this time...
  11. God no. Do you think I went through all the pain and strife with the Cubs so I could eventually give up on them and switch to another team? If the Cubs ever win it, it will make everything worthwhile. If they don't, oh well it's just baseball.
  12. I think we come out if this with a win, but playing in Seattle is never an easy proposition. I'll say it will be a little higher scoring than the last 2 games. Bears pick up a 30-24 victory and head home to play Detroit at 2-1. What a difference a couple of missed FGs by the other guys and a made FG by your guy makes. We could be looking at this game as a desperate must win game to get back on track. But now we should be thinking 3-1.
  13. Oh...well then as always I'm an idiot.
  14. We might have lost the season series 6-10 I believe this season, but at least we won the last one. Since we're only playing for pride, at least we don't have to live with a sweep at the hands of the Cardinals all winter.
  15. I'm so bad, a Cubs Cardinals Sunday Night Baseball game, and it is barely the 2nd choice in my TV watching rotation behind Giants/Cowboys.
  16. Soto looked like a pitcher up there with that swing.
  17. That was not very heads up of Lee to not go back and touch the runner at first because he never touched 1B the first time around.
  18. Yikes, 3 straight walk off losses to our arch rivals. Edit: or not...
  19. I'd be worried if it was a high ankle sprain. That's the same thing Orton had last year and while he only missed a couple of games he was noticeably a less dynamic player the rest of the year. I think we're looking at a 2-4 week injury, and I think that any sort of sprained ankle injury will at least keep him out for next weeks game.
  20. Holy Ray Lewis
  21. My friend and I were laughing at the announcers questioning the Bears for being conservative in the 40-47 yard FG range. I have never felt more confident about a kicker than Robbie Gould. Most people know I'm a huge pessimist (but I've been better), but with Robbie, I just don't expect to see him miss. Best kicker in the NFL, and it was worth giving him all that damn money. Please be ok Alex Brown. If he's seriously hurt, this is a VERY costly victory.
  22. Wow he missed it again and we have decent starting FG position.
  23. Phew, please miss but at least we have time.
