  1. Tough loss, but at least we played a lot better than Monday (guess that wasn't hard) Sucks to lose when your crappy 8th inning guy gives up a bomb to Jones, but it's too early in the season to get too aggrivated with a couple of losses
  2. Come on guys, you gotta swing at least sometimes. I understand and appreciate patience, but the Braves have been throwing strikes early in the count for a majority of the night.
  3. what? as for the bullpen, i'll just let that randomness play out... but we need to stop acting like grabow belongs in high leverage spots I'm not sure you can call a Zambrano, Dempster, Wells, Gorzalanny, Silva rotation anything but that. When Lilly comes back I'll go with average.
  4. That's what I was thinking. This game was dragging it felt like.
  5. Yup, I was just about to make a post about how I didn't mind walking Jones in that situation. But instead Grabow decided that a meatball might be a better idea. Hopefully Wells brings his A game tomorrow if we can't score in the 9th or we're getting swept.
  6. Good thing Rammy hit into that DP last inning. Byrd, Soriano, Fontenot due up for the Cubs in the 9th to face Wagner.
  7. Come on Grabow, show us why you deserved to get the Jim Hendry special in the offseason.
  8. Haha Peavy is getting hit hard on the South side. Edit: oops, beaten
  9. Quick someone unban CubsGM. Whenever he did that "double play in 3.....2.....1...." thing, the Cubs never seemed to hit into a DP.
  10. Horrible result for a 3-1 count dammit. Can you get down the line any slower Aramis? I thought we were going to score that inning. Holding my breath for the pen again..
  11. There's never been a pitcher who was so good at missing bats that had such a hard time missing bats. He puts up some wacky lines, that's for sure. i was just kidding, gameday was wrong about him getting out of the inning. he issued two more walks and was taken out. his final line was 3.2 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 8 K, 1 HBP, 90 pitches/52 strikes. that's one bad thing about harden, he's so tough to hit and his control is always marginal, so his pitch count is always going to be high and that leads to a taxed bullpen. that and he gets hurt all the time. One more year like last (and it looks like it will be this year) he'll be a reliever. How many years did Texas give him? 1 plus an 11.5 million team option for another year.
  12. How many times are you going to see that pitch before you don't swing at it Riot?
  13. Heyward looked outmatched there. Too agressive
  14. Time for the unproven bullpen to prove itself. I gotta tell you I'm gonna be on the edge for the next 3 innings.
  15. The Blues got to Chicago around yesterday afternoon and had all night to do whatever, watch the game, get a bite to eat, etc. Meanwhile, the Hawks had to play in Dallas last night, fly back to Chicago and play tonight. And its the Hawks that come out to a 3 goal lead early.
  16. Theriot - Don't think he has a hit yet, if he does he only has 1. Hasn't looked that great at the plate and his lack of range has been exposed on the field multiple times. Did hit a fairly well hit ball a bit earlier, but it was right to the 2B, who was playing at double play depth and converted the DP Fukudome - Looked pretty good on Monday, looked alright today. Hit the ball hard to RF in his second AB tonight, but was caught by Heyward. No complaints about him so far. Lee - Hasn't looked great, but I'm not worried about him all that much. Ramirez - Obviously hit that HR Monday, hit a couple other hard hit balls, doing pretty good overall. Byrd - Has had a lot of good abs so far, been robbed a couple of times. Doesn't look all that fast in the OF. Soriano - Haven't seen anything really impressive from him so far at the plate. Did have a good AB earlier today that lead to a double, but it was off an excuse me check swing. Fontenot - mixed reviews. Did have a nice single tonight and worked a couple of counts, but I wouldn't say he looks better than last year yet. Soto - Pretty much the same as Fonteot, except doesn't have a hit yet. Hope that helps
  17. Did you miss the bad call at first that sparked the 2 runs last inning? Or the ball that Prado missed that was inexplicably ruled a hit instead of an error just before Glaus doubled Ramirez off? I think that was a hit based on the fact that it was hit pretty hard, and Prado never really got to the ball. It was a rocketed shot that Prado tried to backhand and couldnt.
  18. lol, seriously
