  1. Looks like Grabow is the new Heilman/Howry/Eyre etc.
  2. Ron gets pretty unbearable, but without Pat's dry wit and great comedic timing, there is no way Ron in the booth would work out.
  3. Same part of the lineup too. I'm guessing since Marmol hasn't been used since Saturday, that if Grabow gets in trouble, Marmol can come in for a 4+ out save.
  4. Ramirez walked on a pitch that was more a strike than that pitch earlier in the game.
  5. Nope. I dont think the Bulls even care. They're focused on the offseason. Normally Id say good job, but Bron isn't playing so they should be up considering its meaningless for Bron's (good) supporting cast and do or die for the Bulls.
  6. Seriously. I hate the way this organization uses Marshall He's looked pretty lockdown in relief. I'd probably rather see him as a starter, but if he can be a very good setup man, he'd still provide a lot of value strengthening a potentially weak pen.
  7. Nice range riot. Yes I'm going to say that everytime a ball is hit near him and he doesn't get it.
  8. mainly I thought/think wells would regress significantly. With no dominant ace a couple of 2's/3's and wells and gorz/silva rounding out the rotation made the rotation seem very average to me. Doesn't seem outrageous at all to me. Obviously if you chang your expectation of wells that makes things different.
  9. It still doesn't excuse getting swept if that is what in fact happens though. Sure it does. I mean yeah sweeps are going to happen during the year, especially on the road. But if you have any hope for the Cubs being any good this year, you'd have to expect better than 0-3 when facing good teams on the road.

  11. This oughta get Soriano, Fontenot, and Soto's heads back in the game. I kinda hope we get rained out cause Tommy Hanson is dirty. Shut your trap Complete sentences please. Shut your trap Sox fan. Better?
  12. Pretty much solely because my opponent this week picked him off the FA heap on Sunday night. I guess Vernon is actually trying again. Is his contract running out?

  14. Game threads can be a confusing experience even for those that have been around the forum for awhile. So in order to help things, I've created a partial flowchart to help in knowing what to do around here. (I realize some of these are ironic) http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2442/nsbbflowchart.png
  15. Lets have another 6 page discussion about the law of averages and gambler's fallacy and all that junk tonight ok?
  16. I don't know, but I didn't realize the Dodgers lost again. Over to Dodgerblues.com I go...the only place that can make NSBB look like a rational place to discuss baseball.
  17. I hope Koyie Hill gets the start tomorrow. Soto does not look like a major league hitter up there right now. He doesn't look like he has any confidence. I'm not saying he should be benched and placed behind hill or anything but he needs something to wake him up. Holy [expletive]. Edit: nevermind I hate getting into disagreements with you because you just post 2 word responses that don't directly address anything and call it proving your point. You're judging a player's self-confidence based on 7 PAs. I didn't think that needed to be spelled out. And spring training, and Lou's comments, and last year. But yeah.

  19. You realize we started 0-2 in 1997 too, right? I don't think anyone is panicing after 2 games. Most people are letting their mediocre start to the season affirm their prediction that the Cubs are a .500 team at best though.
  20. lol why? Seriously, Grabow is a dime a dozen reliever. There are literally dozens of relievers all over the league that can give you the numbers Grablow (get it GraBLOW?) gives you, and most of them for significantly less. Just another example of Hendry doing a horrible job of utilizing finite resources to build a baseball team.

  22. That said, SWING THE [expletive] BAT SOTO. Geez, he's scared to [expletive] up right now. He took way too many strikes in this game, including all 3 in the final AB
