  1. I just heard on CSN that every single Chicago Cub is going to be at Game 1 on Friday. It was organized by Ryan Dempster. That's awesome.
  2. Couple of upsets so far. Didn't get to watch any of the games but the Flyers beat the Devils, and the Senators upended the Penguins. Good stuff.
  3. And Theriot's hit looked like a lazy fly ball if Hart wasn't positioned weirdly. I'll take the luck that's for sure.
  4. Comments from bf.net (sorry guys you do it with our forum when you get the upper hand):
  5. It's just one game, but I'm getting 2008 vibes here. Not just because we came back but how we came back. The pen is still a big worry but there is time to work on that.
  6. Struck out the side!! I LOVE IT! NOW WIN TONIGHT BULLS!
  7. Keep the faith my friend. It's not like no team has ever started the season 3-5 and come back to make the playoffs. Do they look great? Not really. is the pen an issue? right now yes. What I do like is that the Cubs have been working the count a lot these last games, extending rallys by way of walking. You might not alwyas get that clutch hit, but when you do, instead of 1 run scoring, 2+ runs might score. This is why we were so good in 2008, and its very encouraging to see it happening again. See what I mean about this offense? We loaded the bases with a single and 2 BBs. And then due to a couple clutch hits, we score 4 runs. This is how baseball is meant to be.
  8. Remind me to repaste that quote on the day Hawkins retires and theres a thread about it on NSBB.
  9. Why does our offense suck? If they could hit Randy Wolf they've be up by a billion right now. I agree...because if they hit the Brewers last sunday's starter pitching on 2 days rest, that means the Brewers had to have gone through a lot of pitchers this afternoon.
  10. Thank you Hawkins. Even if you don't completely blow the game here you give us a chance in the 9th

  12. Jeff Gray is aiming to bring the triple back into style like Babe Ruth brought the home run into style.
  13. An IF single is so pointless here unless Fuku does the unthinkable...
  14. Everyone knows Coffee does not quiet the Riot.
  15. Wells really tuckered out early today....blah.
  16. Does anyone remember last year some scrub poster here talking about how he had Aaron Miles on his fantasy team and when we questioned him about it, he said it was because he could play multiple positions or something like that?
  17. A very tough play with the wall glaring at him menacingly.
  18. Actually he's known to have above average patience...
  19. I completely forgot there was a game today, and this afternoon at that. The Bulls have really occupied my mind today.
  20. Yeah I don't know if a bunch of unverified signatures will net you all that much. Some of the names on it are impressive, however having people like Jamie Navarro sign it probably only lower the value. Good luck though, I hope you prove me wrong.
  21. www.purplerow.com is a blog but like other SBNation blogs, it operates like a message board with active discussions.
  22. NHL.com has an EA simulation of the playoffs and has Chicago coming out holding the Cup.... http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=525280&navid=DL|NHL|home Man I really hope they can do it. Despite various frustrations over the last couple of months, I've grown to love this team. Edit: I should mention that they do pick the Avs to beat the choking Sharks in the first roundm before having the Hawks sweep them in the 2nd round. Also:
  23. I was going to ask you why the Bulls had anything to do with it when their last home game is tonight, but then I realized you really did mean a fake basketball team.
  24. And because he's like 45 years old. If you are going to go to the public claiming racism, at least do your research. FWIW, the Cubs (the most racist organization and fanbase EVAR!) were willing to sign Dye but he wanted to be a guaranteed starter. I don't doubt that there is some level of racism out there just like there are unfortunately in all walks of life. But even if someone is a closet racist, I am sure that winning baseball games in order to make more money and keep their job is more important than slighting a good black baseball player. If Hudson wanted to claim racism, he should have maybe looked into how players advance through the minor league system where player skills are a lot less obvious and maybe inherent racism would cause a minority to get held back while a slightly less qualified white person gets advanced to the next level. That's taking a big leap, but it would seem more reasonable that racism would be found there more often than at the major league GM level when deciding between FAs.
