Here is that schedule, which looks tough at the beginning (my way too early prediction in parenthesis). 2 Monday Night football games (Week 3 vs. GB, Week 15 @ MIN..ugh), 1 Sunday Night game for now (Week 4 @ Giants), 1 Thursday night game (again?, Week 11 @ MIA), and for now EIGHT NOON GAMES (!!!) One schedule oddity is that after week 6, we alternate home and road games for the rest of the season, not playing consecutive home or road games more than once all season. That could actually be good. Yeah, kind of shows how silly it would be to allow injured players to serve their suspensions while they are hurt. Honest queston here, where does Mark Prior fall in this. Can he juice now to get healthy and get a new contract? If so, what the hell is he waiting for? Well I think getting caught using a masking agent or whatever Manny got caught using gives you a different public perception than getting caught with a crapload of steroids in your system. Also, I don't know maybe he prefers living a long time to forcing a return to baseball.

And there's nothing wrong with that. The Bulls without Jordan had a great year the first year after he left, but that was a core that just won 3 titles. The next year when they lost Grant and Armstrong, they were a .500 team and I believe a 6-7 seed when MJ came back. I think the Cavs would win 45-50 games without James, but they wouldn't get anywhere in the playoffs.

I don't think you can serve while on the DL, at least with short team suspensions. I remember there was a big argument about Kerry Wood back in 04 and how he was injured and still had to serve 5 games after he was healthy enough to pitch. I think Barrett had the same issue back in 06 after decking AJ Eyechart. I don't think theres a way to prove or enforce that but I think if it's sketchy timing, the league is going to be on you for it. The easy workaround for that would be to declare he is now healthy enough to pitch and activate him. I don't know if it could be done, but the way around that is to suspend him after he pitches at least one full inning in his next game. It would effectively take him out until August. I imagine the union and/or the Reds would balk at that. That's what I was trying to say. Technically I think it could happen but the MLB would not take kindly to it.

So this is what I can find with the Bears schedule yet, since it hasn't leaked Week 1 (9/12) - vs. Lions Week 4 (10/3) - @ Giants Week 7 (10/24) - vs. Redskins Week 9 (11/7) - @ Bills (Toronto, ON) Week 13 (12/5) - @ Lions Week 17 (1/1-1/3) - vs./@ Packers (week 17 is divisional games, and Lions are playing Minny already) According to PFT, we are not opening the Giants stadium, Carolina is. Also the Cowboys are playing the Saints on thanksgiving, not the bears. I also read on twitter (not sure how legit) that the Bears and Packers will have a MNF game in Chicago this year.

From that infamous Preds blog: Hahaha, I mean I don't think we completely destroyed the Preds in game 2 as some in the Chicago media would have you believe, but to say you did a bunch of good things but "couldn't put it together" (which basically means they were unlucky) is hilarious. Honestly, if the Preds and Hawks had reversed roles, I'd probably be saying the same things, but I just feel like getting riled up. I hope/think/believe that I am going to enjoy the game tonight. Also, its funny that in games 1-2 people kept bringing up how Nashville had the 4th best road record in in the West, but the Hawks had the 3rd best road record in the west, and were one OT win (instead of OTL) away from having the best road record in the West, but no one brings that up. No one brings up that since the Preds had a worse road record than us (ever so slightly), and they finished 12 points behind the Hawks in the standings, that means that they must have a much worse home record than the Hawks. And sure enough the Hawks took 11 more points at home during the year than the Preds. So advantage us.

I'd be fine with Colorado finishing them off. They are dangerous. If they ever figure *it* out, whatever that is, they could roll all the way to a final with the Caps. And what a series that would be. I'd love to see Colorado finish it off so the Hawks could face them in the 2nd round. I know its a case of be careful what you wish for, but the alternatives (Vancouver/LA Kings, Detroit/Phoenix) scare me more.
